The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You

Featured Replies

Just found out that an extremely loyal Muser passed away a few days ago, and someone I happened to meet at one of the shows I attended. He'd attended numerous shows around the U.S. dating back to the beginning of the BH&R tour. Devastating stuff.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that.

^^ The fact they're saying they are doing a few. So I'm hoping maybe Reading? *So many crossed fingers*

There's still a good chance they will play there. I hope they do.

Love Muse But...

Love Muse.. I have seen them a lot - including in the early days, when critics called them the poor mans Radiohead (honestly!) - watched them at Glastonbury last year, and saw them again at a European festival - and to be honest, I thought they looked bored :( The gaps between the songs were enormous, from where I was stood (near the stage) there didn't seem to be any technical reasons for this - at the end of their set at Hove Festival, Norway, most of the crowd thought they'd finished, and starting walking off - only to hear *at least* five minutes later the band start up again. Weird.

Then again, it must be really hard for bands such as Coldplay, U2 and Muse to tour the world playing the same songs, in the same way pretty much every single night, have thousands of people to pay to watch you do it, and remain sane!!

He does. He's apparently a Daddy's boy and all. I literally saw it and just was like squeeing for an age.

When you said Hove festival I was all like that's near me :escaping: And then I realised you meant Norway Hove. I get too excited by these things.

I don't know, Muse to me aren't really the festival type. There's too much regiment and containment in festivals that doesn't lend well to their style. Also, it turns into a greatest hit shindig which can't be fun.

Jealous that you saw them in the early days :bomb:

For a split second, I thought the article said that Dom was releasing a solo album. :blank:

They're not really the festival type, although what you said surprised me- the only time (at my gig) that they weren't playing was at the encore break. If they stopped playing between songs, most of the time it was either for maybe 5 seconds tops and most times one of them would still be playing.

And just saying, the Resistance karaoke version is lots of fun to sing along to.
