Well, after the positive feedback I received for the parody, I became inspired and decided to finally post something here.

To clarify, by "Exogenesis," I mean the entire symphony straight through. Speaking of which, I want to apologize for all of the bad bits where I wasn't as solid, particularly in "Cross-Pollination," where A. I start to get involuntarily shaky and, in turn, pitchy, and B. I accidentally mess up half of one of the lines.

Only listened to the Blackout cover so far, but it's convinced me that this entire thread needs to gather for Skype singalongs. I do it sometimes with my friends from .mu and we're just ridiculous. Personally, I sound terrible (especially when attempting to belt the Citizen Erased chorus in the car), but it's funny when you have other people. Of course, Violet actually sounds decent and will mock the rest of us. :laugh3:

 

Or we don't have to sing at all. But I think a Skype group for Coldplaying Musers could be fun. Any interest?

Oh gosh, "Citizen Erased" is so great, but it's hard to sing. I think it's mostly because of how self-conscious I am about my high register due to how low my natural voice is. Oh, and don't ask me to sing "Micro Cuts" ever. As a borderline female tenor, it's pretty much guaranteed that I will sound awful in the chorus.

 

Anyway, the Skype thing sounds like fun. Granted, I don't have a webcam, and my Internet speed sucks (so it'll lag a little), but yeah, sounds great.

Did you record the Exo cover second? Because it sounds better. You were probably more comfortable.

 

I want to hear Micro Cuts live one day, for one reason and one reason only. That reason being that listening to the crowd around me attempting to sing it would be FUNNY. AS. HELL.

Actually, I don't use an actual mic for my recordings (I use the recorder on my mp3 player for that), but yes, I do have a mic.

I will suggest this to Chris next time he tweets. Maybe that will make him drag Matt along to any footie matches that happen (I'm seriously hoping they don't fall through like when he planned an LA footie game last year).

On another note, I feel like gig addiction really is like a drug addiction, except it's even more expensive and it won't kill you. Muse is the most provocative but it's not just them. I paid for 3 different concert tickets last week. And now I'm suddenly thinking about buying another (one that could sell out any time). UGH.

ETA: I forgot about the timezones. The only thing I can think of is to schedule this on a weekend...? I'm taking a summer class, but I don't have class on Friday, and I'm not one to go out a lot, so I'm free any time during those days.

Wellll, my schedule is pretty much working 9-5 all week.

 

Monday nights I will also be working a completely ridic 6-10 on top of that.

And Saturdays I will be working 10-6.

 

So I can pop in around that. :laugh3: Basically I can probably stay up until 2am here for you weekdays and Saturday night you can have me to your hearts content.

 

Ohhh, and Michael I suffer the same addiction I feel. I should be completely broke and not looking at other concerts beyond Benicassim but I've only recently booked 5 others too. I'm kind of glad I now have my placement to balance out this spending. :laugh3:
