Do the festivals count as MX Tour though? I wouldnt have thought the first 25 dates would be classed as part of the tour as the album wasnt even out for them.

Personally Id have said the first real date of the tour would have been the Madrid show for Youtube. It was the first with the Xylobands and the beginning of whats became familiar on the tour. Which would mean there could be over 30 still to be announced.

Guess we can be hopeful :D

Best way to get automatic updates for new tours

Hey Guys!

I want to buy a couple of tickets for the next time Coldplay perform in the UK as a wedding present for my cousin (couldn't think of anything better, especially since it'll be their first CP concert!)

What would be the easiest way to get an automatic notification/email of when the tickets are released? Just started working so don't wanna spend loads on re-seller fees lol! Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Is Coldplay coming to Manila?

coldplay_20121205-02.jpg

MANILA, Philippines - All it took was one tweet from Manila Concert Scene to get the fans excited:

Manila Concert Scene

You guys love COLDPLAY right?

5 Dec 12

The tweet, posted at 6:57 pm on December 5, has been retweeted more than 500 times, proof that Filipino fans are more than excited to have the British band on Philippine shores.

In January this year, actor-entrepreneur Marvin Agustin said in a report posted in mb.com.ph that his concert production company, Music Management International (MMI), hoped to bring Coldplay, Madonna and U2 to the country in 2012.

They ended up bringing over Morrissey, Smashing Pumpkins and Jennifer Lopez — not bad at all.

The interview was done a month after news of a Coldplay 2012 Manila concert turned out to be a hoax, when a concert poster that circulated on social media turned out to be fake. According to a report posted by gmanetwork.com in December 2011, the poster was a Computer Graphics project of student Roe Alfaro.

Dayly Entertainment appeared to be the concert promoter. The news got so big that "Coldplay in Manila" reportedly trended on Twitter.

"Usually, if an artist is on tour or going on tour, promoters get to bid," said freelance concert publicist Louie Barretto to Rappler.

"That's been floating around for a long time, that Coldplay will come. But I'll believe it when I see it!"

As of press time, the Coldplay website has no listing of an Asian tour in 2013. The latest performance they announced is a benefit concert in New York for Hurricane Sandy victims "that will stream worldwide" on the week of December 10.

The Manila Concert Scene tweet turned out to be a crowd sourcing question: They were putting together a wish list of artists that Filipinos want to watch in Manila in 2013, both local and foreign.

Another tweet posted 10:01 pm on December 5 revealed the results, and Coldplay was on top of the Bands list:

Other bands in the list are Aerosmith, Bloc Party, The Eraserheads and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Solo acts listed include Adele, John Mayer, Carly Rae Jepsen and Britney Spears. (See the complete list here.)

I'm pretty pissed that they didn't come to Ohio on this tour. On the VLV tour they played 81 concerts in North America. MX tour, 39!!! I'm 30 years old with kids and a career, I can't justify going to Detroit or Chicago for concerts anymore. But there are SO MANY cities they didn't hit this time. I missed the VLV tour for reasons that were beyond my control, and now I'm gonna miss this tour also! So the next US tour isn't likely to happen until 2015, which would make it 9 years between Coldplay concerts!!! Saw them in Columbus in 2003 and 2005, and Cleveland 2006.
