Nope, never happened for me lol Despite having a population of over 1 million, pretty much hardly anyone I've known in Birmingham likes Coldplay!

After reading all the posts i have come to one conclusion: We are all scared as hell of talking to strangers. :D

I cant believe Thalia made this thread[emoji38]:awesome:

Does Batman count as a Coldplay fan? I have met her this human being once and damn I didnt regret it AT ALL[emoji38]

My mind always pops up thinking Batman is a man, but guess what

IT DOES NOT MATTER AS LONG AS SHE'S GOT A SENSE OF HUMOR

*oops yeah she is a woman as you can see*

My friends who I usually talk to most of them are Coldplay fans, but not very hardcore thing. If the band are coming to town, they will definitely come with me!

You know what...I think you have a point there LOL I always found myself to be an anomaly on online forums (I only participated in a handful but still). I noticed a lot of people would tell me they are actually shy in real life. I don't want to generalise but I found this to be quite consistent in the forums I visited. So I used to say to my forum friends...dont worry guys: when we meet, I´ll come up to you and start chatting away then ! LOL

Im perhaps the rare very extrovert who visits online forums? It would not surprise me. Im odd in more ways than I can count haha

I sure hope you do, anything else would end you in jail *LOL* That sentence could be misread haha

I don't think it has anything to do with being part of a forum or something. Most people have problems or find it hard to talk to a stranger they have never met before. How many times have you (not you personally) seen a guy/girl on the street you found cute/attractive/interesting or whatever you want to call it but you were to afraid to go up and say hello to her/him. Happens even when you are almost 100% sure you will have something in common and something to talk about (coldplay in our case). It's just human nature and 95% of people don't fight through it.

But at the end of the day almost everyone will agree: regret is worse than rejection.

No, I meant to say that I noticed that I find more introvert people (or reluctant to engage in social conversations) in online forums than I find in friends I know in "real life". Its not so unlikely to think that for someone who is not comfortable with talking up to strangers in real life might find it easier to do it online. Not saying thats the case with everyone, hardly, but its something that happens. I just noticed this difference in my small experience.

And there is a difference between extroverts and introverts or whatever in between :) I know several people who have no reluctance talking to strangers, matter of fact they actively seek to engage in conversations with strangers! *lol* (I spent a lot of years in Italy where this is pretty common hehe, less common here in Denmark). So people are very different, I don't feel Im in a position to say what is human nature or not in this case :) And I speak here in general of approaching strangers for various reasons , not romantic reasons where with the latter I agree with you both introverts and extroverts would probably fear some form of rejection :)

p.s. I agree with regret being worse than rejection in all cases yes, but as someone who used to suffer from social phobia in the past sometimes its also best not to put yourself into a situation where you feel TOO uncomfortable, its good to know your limits and work with pushing them a bit but not to the point that they break
