My other guess for 2 is M.M.I.X. I hear flute in both.

No

I don't know how to give further hints without giving it away. If it is not guessed by tmr, i think I will reveal one of the clues' solutions !

Does clue #1 have to do with lyrics? One theory I had was the position of songs written in first person vs third ( I vs we).

No

You were closer with your previous guesses. Think instrumental...

Does this mean that the song for clue 2 is an instrumental?

Ok, so I've been searching for the kind of sound that's in the video. The closest I get is in "Low" (starts at 2:03). You can also hear the same sound (slightly fainter) in "Talk" at 2:15. So is one of these the right answer?

Low might be possible although I still don't hear it like a "happy, uplifting" tune.

Let's uppose it is correct, there is something in the lyrics:

All I ever wanted was love

Cause I feel low

Those 2 are describing the feelings of songs and on every Coldplay album there is a song about love and also about feeling down or low.

Hymn for the weekend?

when I was down, when I was hurt

you came to lift me up

When I was low low low...

Maybe we should just start guessing every single coldplay song in order, I think that will lead us to an answer faster[emoji23]

Wasn't Low guessed?

Wasn't Low guessed?

No, @guy42 mentioned it as a possibility for clue 2.

But then we still have to look for the solution.

@I ran away made a though one, that's for sure.

And we don't cheat, we take revenge with another one. [emoji14]

No...

If you look through the albums and look at the order of songs, don't you find one thing that is the same for all albums ?

Life in Technicolor?

No but you too seem to be closing in on where the sound comes from !

No to both

You might be talking about the instrumental portion of X&Y then.

I have checked it with earphones and at 00:30 is a flute I think. But very short and hardly hearable

Edit: around 00:32

Interesting. But I think it's too faint; only a monster would put this in a riddle :laugh4:

I don't think we're necessarily looking for a flute sound (or are we?). Maybe a high-pitched sound that trills (or vibrating noise, whatever you wanna call it)... Check out the part around 2:23. The guitar does the vibrating.

I wasn't looking for a flute but a sound that goes kind of the way at the fragment. But I still don't know how long the piece is we are looking for.

2:23 might be possible but is somewhat hidden too.

Is it the instrumental at the end?

This is my last guess, whether it's right or not. I've lost interest in this riddle, sorry.

I'll let Nie do the next one. She probably has a good one, to give you the Revenge of a Lifetime :sneaky:

Oh, and I'll keep trying. Love Revenge of a Lifetime!! I just heard X & Y tonight. Makes sense.

Are the songs on each album in some order having to do with either length or having guitar riffs?

Hey we're not yet at the end of the riddle :D It is in the instrumental at the end, at 4:16-4:20:

So what general principle is in every album (that might be exemplified in the phrase X&Y) ?
