Yay, I have some company! :awesome:

I love the random references to The Shining too! At the beginning of the season there was that scene with Will and Jack in the big red bathroom, and then this week's episode (Sorbet), the crime scene was almost exactly like Room 237. Plus there's the random bold red influences throughout the entire season in the architecture and design similar to The Shining.

And is it just me, or is Mads Mikkelsen's accent a bit thick? Sometimes it's hard to understand him. His accent wasn't quite that thick in Casino Royale.

A Hannibal thread! :cheesy: I'm pretty much praying for NBC to renew this show. I think it's pretty great, and the cinematography is gorgeous. After reading Bryan Fuller's (the show creator) plans for future seasons, I would love to see how it would play out on screen.

I have some trouble understanding him too. Thank goodness for subtitles.

Ooo a Hannibal thread!

I'm loving this show (even though I'm one of the few people who hasn't seen any of the movies). Only checked it out as I'm a fan of Bryan Fuller and I'm hooked!

Really hope this gets renewed though. I would hate for it to end on a cliffhanger.

I find it a little hard to understand him too. And we even have subtitles just for him even though I'm from a English speaking country! Lol.

Just for him?!?!!! Wow.

I'd like to get peoples' take on a few things throughout the season so far.

In regard to Freddy Lounds and the time that she showed up in Hannibal's office pretending to want to be a new patient (but was really eavesdropping on Will's session), Hannibal sat down with her and after telling her how rude she was being, he said to her, "what's to be done about that?" I thought it would end up being an "eat the rude" situation, but considering that didn't happen, I'm wondering if they entered into an "I'll-scratch-your-back-if-you-scratch-mine" sort of arrangement? What do you think happened during that conversation?

Also as a follow-up in regard to Hannibal's hyper-sensitive sniffer, the fact (implied during the dinner with Jack and Bella) that he was able to "smell" her cancer. During one of his sessions with Will, he asked Will if his headaches/etc. were becoming more frequent, and shortly afterward he "smelled" Will; do you think he was trying to smell out if Will has brain cancer (considering one of the cases they worked on dealt with a guy who had brain cancer)?

it was so exciting in last ten minutes. :awesome:
Yes indeed, I was on the edge of my seat!

So do you think that Hannibal, in a momentary lack of judgment (which is a bit relative when talking about him) and tried to intentionally get Will killed? When Hannibal was having dinner with Tobias, Tobias outright admitted that if police/FBI tried to question him he would then kill those police/FBI (and then Franklin). Then Will stops by and admits he kissed Alana, who Hannibal is interested in (unbeknownst to Will). Hannibal then tells Will that he should investigate Tobias. Do you think Hannibal told Will because he was jealous of Will/Alana, and let that jealousy get the best of him and wanted Will out of the picture so he would no longer be competition for Alana's affection? Once Tobias told Hannibal (toward the end of the episode) that he killed two officers, Hannibal assumed one of them was Will and he seemed a bit distraught (i.e., realizing that it was his fault).

I don't really think that Hannibal is jealous that Will and Alana are becoming closer. I've always thought Hannibal (who finds Will to be some fascinating subject from a psychological point of view) wants to help and encourage him to catch the criminals, despite the danger, while Hannibal stands by the sidelines observing it all. I think.

About that Freddy Lounds question you had, I think Hannibal just saw an opportunity to work with Freddy and use her journalism skills to his advantage. Although, I need to re-watch Freddy's scenes, especially the ones after her little chat with Hannibal, to get a better idea of what may have happened. I think it is a "scratch-my-back-and-I'll-scratch-yours" situation, like you said.

I'm caught up now I really love this show

and I think hanni just wants to eat will up, but he's having waay too much fun seeing all the fbi running around and he's all caring about will because he's so in control of the situation, and he was sad because he thought will was dead and he's been anticipating killing him and eating him since their eyes first met </3

I guess everyone now concerns/worries about Will.

_____________

I'm so interested in Mads Mikkelsen's works NOW. I can't believe he plays the bad guy in Casino Royale. *I love 007 by the way. :dazzled:*

I wish Hugh Dancy can have more works.
