My old roommate had a polaroid camera and always took random pictures of everyone. He had a wall full of random photos.

Was it a collage type of thing?

He just had them all posted on the wall. Except when he'd get mad at someone and take their picture(s) down. He was an interesting but moody guy.

I like actual polaroids, but I don't see the appeal of fake ones, it's just a picture with a white border then :/

Why make such a big deal about it?

I remember an old Polaroid camera my mom used to have. It was so fun taking the instant pictures, and the border was great for writing little captions and such.

 

Seethe film 'Momento' for great use of that space for captions.

I think the appeal for most people is the difference of the picture. The colour curves and such
