Coeurli
Now that we have the official track list, we can discuss each track individually! What do you think the 4th track of Sunrise/Everyday life will sound like ? :sunrise: SO what are we thinking ? What the hell is that capital E about ? :joy:
lennyrott1
Really an odd title. I like the theory that the En is for "eno" It's on the same disc as Arabesque. My guess is that this is one of the most alternative songs on the album?
shred
Really curious why the title is spelt this way....
merril
Really curious why the title is spelt this way.... It might be a mixture of two words 'broken' and a noun beginning with 'En' like broken England. But it surely is something completely different, this album being full of surprises. :grinning:

I ran away
The fact that the song title is visibly broken through the capital E could be a simple emphasis to being "broken"... Or it's about Brexit :D
merril
I wonder whether Chris is alluding to this song when he sings with the Gospel choir and says: When I am broken and in need... So brokEn might have some Gospel elements.
cp3176
Darn I surely hope not, upon looking at that phrase I just got a whole bunch of lyrical Ideas I wanna use
alexis16
In the iTunes interview the band gave they said there was another song Broken that they recorded which Chris said was really good but this one came and beat it..... would love to hear the other Broken!! 1
cp3176
Well hopefully we get to hear the other Broken when they release all those unreleased songs from every era they promised. If they weren't just referring to acoustic ballads solely. This reminds me of the original Fun from VLV era, then the Fun on AHFOD that came after it..... Coeurli
I LOVE Coldplay's take on gospel!! BrokEn is gorgeous! On first listen it was one of my favourites of the album, but now I think songs like When I need a friend have a stronger hold on me. Still, a sweet song and a great moment. Damn this album is flawless.
