When i see footage of them on live03 at Earls Court i SO wish I'd have gone. But it was pretty much that year (i think I was 14) that I was really getting into them, and I barely knew about the tour until it was right in my face. :(

Guys... when did you first see what the band, specifically Chris, looked like?

 

I first saw the Yellow video at my friends house when I was about 11. I remember we took the piss out of that song&video so bad coz both our mum's loved it (so, being stupid kids, refused to like music our parents did). :rolleyes: But the fact that I remember seeing the video for the 1st time so vividly makes me think that I definatley liked it a little bit, but just wouldn't ever admit it. :rolleyes:

I dont remember much else until the AROBTTH release when my mum made me buy the album.

That pic is perfect. I'm printing it out in a bigger size and I'm gonna use it as a blanket :lol:

i can't remeber the moment i saw them, but i remeber my friend giving me parachutes to listen and fell in love and kinda forgot about it...and then..in 2002 i was sitting with my mum and there was like an opening on the tv: "coldplay is back with their new single, in my place...lets have a look" or something like that and then i rmembered totally everything and watch it.but i'm a dumb listener, i listen and enjoy but don't really keep track on new albums of my favs or keep track on the tour dates. till now.when there's no hope. :/

i was stupid and uncool when i was younger so it was when i was on holiday with my family and had a really crappy day and the scientist started playing on the telly, i just fell in love and bought arobtth and parachutes and just loved them ever since :)

I just remember... loving Chris' voice and the piano when I heard Clocks when I was like 14. Then when I bought AROBTTH and looked in the sleeve, there they were. I figured the guy in the front must have been the singer.

 

All I could think was "That's the voice. That's the piano guy."

 

Seeing more pics of him and reading up on his jokes and how he was and everything... there was no turning back. :lol:

 

I think if he was an obnoxious punk I would not like him. That's the thing. He is just a package of AWESOMENESS wrapped in a :wink3: human form. :lol:

:lol: But that's the funniest thing! I didn't hate them! It wasn't my type of music that I would have listened to at that time, but I was mainly just rebelling against my mother (who infact, is a friggin genius :idea2: and eventually 'showed me the light' :lol: )

That's not a dumb story at all! :) I used to be the same.

I listened to them, and loved the music. But I just listened to the CD's and that was all. My life was very different then, and I wasn't too interested in knowing much about the band themselves.

 

Just like now; I love Arcade Fire, Artic Monkeys, Hard-Fi, Maximo Park, Sigur Ros...many, many bands. I buy their albums but I dont know much else about them really.

 

I didn't really start to 'follow' Coldplay properly as a band until X&Y came out, despite loving their music for a couple of years. In June'05 my whole life went nuts! :dizzy2: :D They are the first and only band i've ever really gotten into like this. And I wouldn't have it any other way!
