Jupiter is a straight up acoustic song - no drums. Think Sleeping Sun or Til Kingdom Come. It ends with a sample of Two Aliens. So TA is on the album, technically. 
 

MUSIC is the heavy bit of the Neon Forest leak. Angelsong is straight up a Sigur Ros song. No Angel Moon, Will is doing a Jonsi impression.

I like the instrumentation better. Also second part has a little bit of Wills vocals but I can’t understand what he’s saying at all. It comes off unusual for Coldplay (at least to me) and I think it’ll take more to digest with a few listens. I only heard it once, of course. For One World, there’s silence for about a minute (we clapped not realizing it wasnt over) and then more lalalalas at the end in what sounds like an older style. Reminds me of 60s/70s a little bit. I wonder if that’s a sign of things to come.  🙂 That would be interesting. That’s just my take. Chris loves the lalas on this album for sure. It’s not gonna blow people away lyrically but the music is excellent for the most part. Even Jupiter, which comes off pretty cheesy (though I do agree LGBT rights are important) lyrically, I like the acoustic guitar a lot. One added thing, the violin part from FFTF on Apple Music sounds like it’s from One World near the middle section.

Yup. We had MUSIC all along. 

So whilst you guys wait I’ll give my thoughts

1. Moon Music - piano and strings ballad, no drums. We dark and sad, think Daddy with Coloratura orchestration. They’ve never picked a song like this as an opener before. 
 

2. feelslike - Works better in context of the album. 
 

3. We Pray - belongs on a completely different album. Nothing else like it on here. 

 

4. Jupiter - totally acoustic with no drums or synths. Features an african choir. Ends with Two Aliens sample. 

 

5. Good Feelings - like We Pray, a total outlier. Baffling it’s not a single. 
 

6. First half is the Neon Forest demo (and yes, we had MUSIC all along). Second half is Aegis Byrjun (Coldplay version)

As sad as I am to lose Shine On, I’m glad it’s not the title track or 🌈 as those songs are perfect as is

Could’ve swapped it with We Pray though… 

We will get Shine One one day, I am sure of that!

The title track actually reminds me of Earthling meets Sunrise 

🌈 is one of my favourite things the band has ever done

That's probably a better comparison than mine tbh 

As much as songs like We Pray and Good Feelings really disrupt things, this album really feels like the low-key continuation of Ghost Stories/Everyday Life I was hoping for.

I think we pray could have been on Everyday Life it wouldn't have been so odd imo.

According to your description this album is them following their trend of having a low key album after a bombastic one.

It feels like a transitional album to what the final two will be

Jupiter is actually better than I expected, although I thought the chorus was supposed to go "Love who you love"? Apparently this was changed since the leak or I must've missed something.

Good Feelings is the My Universe of this album, I don't like the featured singer parts and I miss Johnny's solo from the earlier versions. The song screams summer, why wasn't this a single over FLIFIL is beyond me. This one is a skipper for me.

Alien Hits - incredible, love the neon forest part but it evolves so nicely, they nailed the atmosphere, This and the title track give me the same vibes coloratura does, just flying through space.

Aeterna - upgraded version of what we've heard before, it's alright, although again I think Johnny's guitar was more present before.

All My Love - definitely a highlight of the album... once those strings entered, and the ending... I was floored.

One World - the million voices part was underwhelming, I expected much more from that. The track itself is phenomenal though.

Overall, this is a way better album than MOTS. We Pray is the only track that doesn't fit here. I would rank the album slightly above AHFOD and lower than Mylo Xyloto. It's right in between those two for me.

Jupiter must have changed really recently - in January, the hook was still 'love who you love' when Chris asked the audience in Manila to record backing vocals.
