Was lucky to attend the cinema event earlier.
here’s my thoughts. I heard it in surround sound Dolby atmos, it was an awesome experience. Here are some of my preliminary thoughts:

  1. MOON MUSiC - 6.5?

Awesome Forever Held intro. Coloratura-seque in second part. Unusual way to begin a Coldplayalbum with such a downer lyrically. It doesn’t work well as an album mood setter like other album openers.

4. JUPiTER - 7?

Queer little ditty. Uplifting and very catchy. Surprise appearance from 2 Aliens - a tease for Vol iii?

5. GF - 9?

Production super detailed. Guitar a little quiet compared to live. Funky af. Album highlight.

6. 🌈 - 8?

Interesting. Shoegaze-ish moment ends rather abruptly compared to what leaked. No Yellow tour intro used. Feels like the ‘Colour Spectrum’ for Vol iii as faint but varying vocals are mixed in including Angel Moon. Maya’s line suits well with album cover. Ends with no transition into next track.

7. iAAM - 9?

Brilliant and epic. Not really like DAAHF as some have said.

8. AETERNA - 9.5

BANGER, but flifil outro forgettable. Perfectly succinct song. Bass drop intro is epic. Production got a glow-up.
(I kid you not the cinema walls were shaking with that pumping bass)

9. AML - 9?

Better than expected. Nice guitar shimmers in stereo.  Instrumentally exceptional.

10. ONE WORLD - 7?

I THINK I HEARD MYSELF ON THIS????  Chirping Birds at start is the exact same audio as the HFTW intro. Takes its time and doesn’t rush to reach its climax. I need more time with this one. Hidden track is a troll. Why is lalalala all over this album??

Hey, interested in the cinema event for this album, was it just a blank screen with the album played or was there visual to accompany? Can’t wait to hear it

Did a quick mix of iAAM, with Chris and the piano from the acoustic version and G+J+W from the album mix. It feels more Viva-ish to me this way.  Coldplay - I am a Mountain (classicplay mix).

Ughhh I hate when they tease songs like this and don't release them officially. I really hope this appears in an EP. It's in line with everything Chris talks about in the Zane Lowe interview...

Annnd, it fits the theme of the album so well. That's crazy this was cut I really don't get it.

My theory with Shine On is that it wa s cut relatively late in the album’s production. I can’t imagine a world where Chris would play a song live in public that he knew would not be on the next album. Every other new song that was played live after MOTS released made it onto Moon Music to my knowledge.

I’m not going to listen to the album on the website as I might as well wait for the album to be delivered. That said I don’t think it’s going to be delivered on launch day (because decent service is not to be expected) so I guess I’ll pre-order it on iTunes as well.

For people who have the CD already - what are the voice memos like?

Here I am thinking it's their best since Ghost Stories

"in the end it's just love" part is the DAAHF of this album

MM is very cohesive and emotional, with a lot of beautiful moments. Small bonus tracks are a little too much maybe, apart the Two Aliens bit. They could have saved 3 min and put Shine On somewhere, the album would have been perfect. But it's good enough I can finally accept it like that

These reviews are great! Thank you for sharing them.

I haven't preordered the album. I'm doing it old school - walking into the record store on the day of release day and getting it. 😄

....But listening it to Spotify before then. Heh.

I've been listening to the album in flac for the past hour on a quality set of headphones and it's just incredible. I can't remember enjoying pretty much all of the songs without skipping since like Ghost Stories. Same with the instrumental tracks, they fucking nailed them. Rainbow has so many little sounds and details, it's shooting goosebumps all over...

Such a great record, really happy to say that after MOTS, in which Coloratura and Higher Power are the only two that I come back to.

r/Coldplay - Does this mean something??

Another listening party??

After listening to the album a couple of times I have to say this is a big step up from MOTS, and maybe up there with EL (which I think it's their best since MX).

My main complaint, if I should mention one, is that I would have left out We Pray and add "Shine On" in its place. Not because I think We Pray is bad, I do enjoy it, but I just don't find it fitting for this record. Anyway, hopefully they'll release that song in the future.

Jupiter is a good song but didn't stand out as much to me. I did like the choir and the acoustic driven production.

Not a big fan of Good Feelings at the moment, but I admit it's still a fun tune and works better that My Universe. Might grow on me.

Moon Music, iAAM, Aeterna, All My Love, One World are the highlights of the album for me. Classic Coldplay sound all over, except for Aeterna of course, but that's still such a good song. They finally nailed the electro-pop genre (or whatever you may call it).

AH/AR sounds really good but it's not really an actual song rather than a very long interlude which teases, as Chris mentioned, what's to come in the future. There are certain tiny elements (other than the three main sections) which I think could be bits of other future songs, like some lyrics, a brief passage of dramatic violins and other bits of melodies. It's very layered and I'm sure we will find more and more stuff hidden in it with every listen. I must say I really like the idea of doing some kind of foreshadowing, it adds depth to the concept of the three MOTS volumes.

I give this record a solid 8/10.

After all these years I’m terrible at looking for leaks. Already preordered the notebook edition and plan on streaming in Dolby Atmos tomorrow night, but after going to the listening event yesterday I really want to go back a revisit the album already.
Can anyone at least point me in the right direction for the HQ version? Even if it’s through a DM. Would greatly appreciate it.

+1, would really appreciate it!

Really enjoyed the new album.  Best album they’ve done since MX in my opinion.  Some great songs and interesting little bits.

As much as I love that Vegas street song, I’m not sure it would have fit the album very well as a whole so can see why it got bumped.

And that little clip after One World…! 😂 Great sense of humour.

Interestingly, part of AHAR, in addition to aka Neon Forest, seems to be a clip of a leak that came out a while ago.  I could have sworn I’d heard it before.

I actually think the best track was AETERNA, which I wasn’t expecting.  The mix was so good.  Max Martin has done a great job producing that one.

While it’s no VLVODAHF or AROBTTH (though what is?!), is a solid effort and infinitely better than MOST, GS (which was okay) and AHFOD (I really liked EL).

Who told you that?

I'm really surprised by how experimental it is in many parts. And not just in the tracks that are overtly different (MOON MUSiC,🌈) but in the supposedly more classic songs as well - lots of really great flourishes. It embraces the kind of interesting sonic soundscape that I felt like MOTS promised but didn't really deliver.

It feels like a proper album - something I'm more likely to listen to front to back, whereas MOTS is a bit of a pick and mix.

The title track is stunning. JUPiTER really (pleasantly) surprised me.🌈 is gorgeous and spacey. AETERNA is an absolute banger. All My Love is classic Coldplay by way of McCartney. The end of One World made me very emotional.

Maybe my favourite since MX? Kind of floored by it tbh.

Oh also, the production is a thing of absolute beauty. You've gotta hand it to Max Martin on this one.

Where did you get it in FLAC?

Please upload it to that site, rainbow song doesn't working

A little birdie told me it just landed on that site

Got to listen it! I would say this album felt like shit loads of hard work and expensive production. I avoid judging it too much after first listen, as I want to listen it multiple times in different kind of moments to let it settle in. But yeah I would say this felt like the most complete, rich and best allround production they have ever had. Maybe I will be less impressed when I get to listen it repeatedly. Let's see 😆

Talking about song material, probably I would rank this album somewhere in the upper middle part of their list of albums, I haven't thought it through yet.

I assume it will be on Juno on the fourth, but I was wondering if there was a download for it included (like the 320kbps MP3 download that came with EL vinyls and the FLAC download that came with New Order's Music Complete).
