Transexuals

I don't know If you call this people like that in english, but I am refering to the persons that are born with one sex and through hormones and an operation (finally) end up being of the other gender.

I saw this program today, it wasn't as good as the eyes program though, and they showed two cases; a woman that ended up as a man and the other way around.

Then they talked why this problem was originated, or at least what scientist believe and have found so far. There is a gland on the brain, the Hipofisis (that way is called here, I'm not sure If that's the name in english) and that control many functions of our body. The scientist sort of "scanned" (it's the closest word I find to what they showed) this part of the brain, and found patterns for men and women. They discovered that transexuals, and people who hasn't got that far but feel just like them, have a pattern opposed to their sex. The brain developes slower than the body, well I wouldn't say slower, but it defines after than the gender (which is defined at the conception moment), so what they say is that your body says one things, but your brain another.

Now it must be terrible for them, now I think about it, and for the people around them. There was this really cute girl and she said that when she was at university she only have relations with girls because she considered herself a guy, even though her or his now body said another thing.

I know you can't believe everything you see on television, but it actiolly maked me think about it. I thought they just were weird people with child traumas/abuses, etc, but now I don't. I have no position at all, and that's how it should have been.

What do you think about them? does anyone has ever think about them, to start with?

i'd heard that they had too many of the opposite sexes hormones, but i didn't know the whole brain stuff, too

in oz this year there was a bit controversy because the courts had allowed a 13 year have a sex change, i can't remember if it was a boy or a girl but

ps hi sternly! remember me? i was the aussie exchange student in germany....

It's not like you have too many female hormones for example, and you are a male. It's that you think like a girl for example, but your body and your organs belong to a guy. These people have to take hormones and change their sexs because it just doesn't go along with what it brain says.

Well, I think they're people just like you and me. Being bi, I think we really can't control who we're attracted to or what sex we ... feel like we are .. i guess. So, yeah. They are just people! :D

I would disagree there. I find that really disturbing and amazing. Imagine today I am Christina, a girl by the name, and two weeks later, I'm Christian, a boy obviously. How is that? Disturbing and amazing, I keep repeting that to myself.

yeah :( and :)

loving the sunshine (even though its now winter in oz!) it was so cold in germany! but i had my first white christmas!

Oh! And on the subject of changing sex and @ what age... i think that depends on the situation ... normally I would say 18.. because younger people may not really be able to deside something like that, but if it's something like a child being born w/ both sexes and the partents made the wrong desision and cut off their little boy's "man parts" and he wants them back ... well, yeah that should be allowed.

-sorry for spelling errors but i'z too tired to check/fix-

Well, that's another like story. I wouldn't, probably, be able to decide something like that. And I would defo hate to be like that.

And they can't marry; Transexuals. Why can't they? They are just people like everyone else, and law should not discriminate people. the Law should care for the benefit of the people. I just wonder, why can't they?

at The Independent Newspaper, a british piece of press...... but thanks, because you are right. I read the whole thing, and very far at the bottom it said that the UK, Andorra, Albania and Ireland are among the few Europeans nations hwo haven't change the law to alow Transexual marriage; I don't know about the rest of the world really, but I AM ABSOLUTELY SURE that in my country they can't. Neither in the countries next to us.

Albania is very different from what I expected it to be... but the program I saw it said..that it was better if the baby was born like that, to not cut off his thing. To let the baby develop and as the baby gets older they can make a better decision on what to do about it :)

isnt that Miriam sheila...bloke...it...a transexual? You know that english show..? well yea she's going it our Big Brother house haha

 that Miriam girl/dude was really shocking, I seriously couldn't tell she used to be a guy :stunned:

Anyway, last week I read an article about an old man (he was 80 or so!) that decided to have an operation and become a woman... he and his wife acted as sisters after the operation but she eventually divorced him/her. Haha.

you should know, since you're one :idea2: ;)

ohohoho valleyboi had bad a verrrrrrrrrrrrry bad experience with sternly :o

HAHAHA Kalter you mofo!

Good topic Sternly, especially as over here in the UK the publics currently dealing with a transexual in the Big Brother house, big stories...

Well, despite my random acts of cross-dressing, I cant really understand what it feels like to want to be of the opposite sex, but all I can think of is the re-precussions.

I mean, being a transexual is insane. Its like, the first thing people will ever think of when they think of you, how could you really want to be tied down to that, youre whole life? The 2nd most life intereferring thing is Homosexuality, but it isnt half as life altering as a sex change.

Its not like you come out of surgery and you were a woman and now youre a man. You will always be a man who looks like a woman, people who know youre secret will tell people; "Hey, that chicks a dude". Its cruel but its how the world works, and its exactly how the public are responding to the Transexual in BB.
