  1. And all the rest of us are extremely effeminate men :p Oh, I do make myself laugh sometimes :D
  2. Chris, Jonny and Guy went on a night out on the town in London. They bumped into Will and had a drunken conversation about this. Will, being an extremely confident bloke, loudly proclaimed he would be the bands drummer "There's nothing to it!" he said.
  3. They heard of some Arts major who could play the drums and invited him to rehearse, but he never showed up!
  4. They didn't know any drummers so they invested in a drum machine and called it "Henry" However Henry's drumming ability was very limited and he didn't respond well to criticism.
  5. It was just an artwork I liked but I like your interpretation better. Yes, I'm going with that and I came up with it all by myself if anyone asks ;)
  6. With Guy committed to the group the trio started to get a lot more female attention (as Guy was so suave, handsome and rugged) Guy's Scottish twang wooed women all over campus. Chris gleefully thought "I may finally lose my virginity!" But it was not to be, for a failed night entertaining a girl called Alice demoralized Chris. A silver lining came in the bones of a song however, Chris gave it the title "Panic" and stored it away for future use.
  7. So Pectoralz it was! Jonny and Chris next set work on writing the best debut album of all time yet something was missing. Distraught, the duo took the next rational step and went down to the pub for a pint. They bumped into two acquaintances of theirs by the pool table, Will and Guy.
  8. Thinking about food. I'm hungry.
  9. I know. It's truly great! Here's a festive one. This has everything an Oldplayer should love. Haunting acoustic guitar, piano balladry and "bedwetter" lyrics (A badge of pride) Although I don't relate with the religious interpretation of the song, I believe it's simply a lyrical and musical masterpiece. My favourite Christmas song by a mile.
  10. ^ "It flew away like a bird" Chris missed his calling as an ornithologist  Either that or an astronomer.
  11. Up Tea or Coffee?
  12. I'm buying it so I can listen to Up&Up and AHFOD in the car! I like those two songs and it's Coldplay so for me that warrants a purchase. My sister likes that kind of music too so I might gift it to her.
  13. I think Oldplayers will like this: A gorgeous melody with falsetto to match!
  14. Oh it's coming.... I stupidly pre-ordered the album from Amazon thinking I might get it a day early but it's not due to arrive till Wednesday! I didn't really want to listen to the leak as the quality wasn't good. Although I can't say I'm looking forward to Wednesday. It's going to be a session of face palming, cursing the world and an intensified case of the Oldplay blues :(
  15. I don't mind Viva (The song) as much as the fact I hate it's the song they are known for. Most X&Y b-sides are better than it. Although this opinion is slowly becoming antiquated as I much prefer they be remembered for Viva rather than POC or HFTW!
  16. Yeah actually, I do! You're trying to claim Ireland is part of England. Great Irish men and women fought for our independence and you spit all over that! and........ (You're not offending anyone :) it's just a funny picture) Anywho, back to Coldplay
  17. I don't know why anybody would start a riot, as this is a perfectly reasonable and respectable opinion to have. To me AROBTTH will always be the masterpiece while X&Y is a sequel or an extension to that masterpiece.
  18. I <3 U2 Here's simply one of the best songs I have ever had the pleasure of hearing. With the added extra of having The Chief on harmonies. You can see the influence this song had on a young Chris with the "All the colours bleed into one" lyric.
  19. Top class pun  And didn't Young The Giant openly state they were influenced by Coldplay? ;)
  20. I'm assuming (for the sake of my sanity) that a lot of it was just sarcastic trolls. Still, no doubt some Kanye fans really did not know who Paul McCartney was.
  21. Or rolling their eyes and giving him unimpressed looks in the case of Will :D
  22. Yep.... I remember one particular Kanye fan who said it was great that Kanye was supporting new and up and coming artists...
  23. Lead single doesn't mean the "main" single (whatever you mean by that) it means the first, as in it takes the lead over what's going to be released from the album later.
