  1. I don't want to scare anyone. But we haven't yet considered the thought that maybe the single won't be released this month or next month and that since they are in India using the holi paint, they may be filming in advance and the single might drop on the 23rd of March to coincide with the Holi Festival?
  2. I mean this is simply not true, a small modicum of common sense needs to be applied, even if you are a pretentious, sneering "journalist" ... That reminds me of a rumour that someone would make up in the school yard  All of these articles that try to denigrate Chris always follow the same basic formula: Try to make him out as a self important, arrogant pop star who only cares about himself, say he is a Bono wannabe and then, rather ironically, rebut themselves in the same article by complaining about his charity work. They clearly have never listened to Coldplay past Fix You, or done any sort of research on Chris himself. If they did they would realise he's the most down to earth and humble guy who has tried his hardest not to let fame go to his head. Pompous, ignorant articles like this annoy me to no end.
  3. Lmao.. If Parachutes was released in 2015 :laugh3:
  4. Part of that excitement comes from the guessing game I think, Coldplay's knack for experimentation keeps the fans on their toes. There's a constant discussion pondering on what direction they're going to take: Some want something more reminiscent of their older work, some people would like a more electronic album, I think most people don't care as long as it's Coldplay! Coldplay aren't the ones to make the same album over and over again, whether you necessarily like that or not, it makes absolutely no difference. You're still excited to hear what they come out with. All we now is that it's going to be a "happy" album, That's vague enough to be anything. We could get an Indian inspired flute single for all we know, that's whats great... The anticipation. Whereas other bands (Like Oasis) continually make an imitation of their debut and the fans know what to expect.
  5. I'm getting very impatient, like a spoilt child :laugh3: Coldplay give us the audio of the single while the music video is being edited!
  6. Nah X&Y is great, easily their third best after A Rush Of Blood and Parachutes as you say. Not really a re-work of AROBTTH at all, it's very unique in my opinion. The technological, futuristic appeal of the album is great (Sampling Kraftwerk, probably one of the most influential groups in modern music is a great omage and a great fusion of two different genres of music) It just seeps atmosphere... X&Y has hardly aged at all and still sounds modern in 2015. X&Y is Coldplay's longest album as well and there are so many underrated gems there. Low, White Shadows, Square One. X&Y is how you do experimentation right in my opinion, something different yet still true to your core sound. 2003-2006 was their peak. I vote VLVODAAHF.
  7. Seems very strange considering the availability of smart phones and social media nowadays. My guess would be that if we can't verify it, it probably never happened.
  8. Yeah number 2. MX and GS are worlds apart from say Parachutes and AROBTTH in terms of production, This is where I think a lot of ire from fans comes from for these albums. A song may be incredible, but production can make or break it. Underproduction is a thing as well, where some bands fear being 'overproduced' and there is so little production they sound like a teenage band performing covers in a garage (Foo Fighters, Beady Eye come to mind) Viva era production is a nice mix of both worlds so lets hope for a return to that style (Rik Simpson produced some tracks on Viva didn't he?)
  9. Viva La Vida or Death and all His Car Kids
  10. That's good because the price of alcohol here is absolutely ridiculous :laugh3: I reckon you saved yourself a small fortune :P
  11. It's a bit of an acquired taste. :laugh3:
  12. I have an impending feeling this is about to explode with news on LP7.
  13. Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends.
  14. In the last two days we got more news than we have in months. Back to over-analyzing :laugh3:
  15. Okay well that's fair enough. I completely disagree on point 2, but lets just forget about that as we both know that point has been argued to the death. Your post came across as very brash and boorish, that's why I construed it in that way.
  16. I take objection to this. People are not complaining, people are discussing possible outcomes. Believe it or not people may tend to have different opinions to you on a discussion board! That's exactly what it is for. I can't think of anything worse than a forum where my opinions are just parroted back to me, varying degrees of opinion help create a more realistic expectation. 1) Oldplayer doesn't necessarily denote the amount of time one has loved Coldplay, rather an honest preference for their older work. You say you have been here since MX? So what? There are people who have been here since X&Y. What is this a pissing contest? You say you're not 15 but the arrogance of your post would make me think otherwise. This point basically boils down to "I have a longer join date so my opinion is more valid than yours":rolleyes: 2) I fail to see how this is impossible considering Coldplay are an alternative band. Emphasis on the word more here. No one expects AROBTTH 2, we just don't want a pure pop record ft. Miley Cyrus . Asking for a few rock songs on an album from a rock band is impossible? 3) So there is a cut off point in liking Coldplay is there? Presumably there must be a cut off point for liking music as well. Care to draw that arbitrary line in the sand for us? Ageist, but most importantly an absolutely ridiculous notion 4) Care to give me an example of this? I think you mean to say discussing potential things that are to exist. This is exactly what this thread is for. 5) Easy way to discredit anyone who doesn't share your opinion
  17. This is exactly right. Hit the nail on the head.
  18. Absolutely. I get away from the stress and worry of life by worrying about my favourite band. It's great escapism to be honest ;)
  19. That's exactly my fear. To their credit, they do always try to evolve their sound. I may not always agree with their experimental directions but applaud them for it all the same, but at this stage it seems they have exhausted all potential avenues for development. I mean they are 6 albums in- They have perfected the acoustic, soft rock sound with Parachutes. They released a perfect rock album, they did the existential space rock stuff with X&Y, Art Rock with Viva, A pop album with MX and an ambient-synth pop album with GS, I mean what's next a reggae album? I think you're right to a degree when you say it'll be a fusion of previous records (most prominently the last two) We can even guess that based on the few photos we have seen. It'll be interesting to hear but I'd much prefer them just to go back to their core, original sound at this stage as that is what they are most known and beloved for and will probably come a lot more naturally than trying to be unique for uniqueness sake. Ah, a man can dream for LP8
  20. Maybe they'll do an impromptu gig sometime this week. I doubt they'll play new material although with iHeart being so close. I think they'll want to debut their new material at an actual festival.
  21. I think the video will be in the vein of True Love/POC :blank:
