I think that All Your Friends could go before Magic... now that I think of it I like Magic better, but it's definetely getting the axe after this. With that, I change my vote to All Your Friends. The melody is not very interesting at all and it's poor... Magic is at least better in that sense. I agree too. But I hope for Fly On to win although I know it's not happening. :( That is definetely a good choice to win tho, that's one of my favs from the GS era. It's a outstanding song with a true Oldplay vibe to it, yet keeping some of the stripped-down of GS. It's like real instruments meets GS, and it really sounds great! :D BTW, where have you been recently? Haven't seen you much on the forums until now...

Yeah, it'd certainly make sense for it to be for AHFOD now that I see your reasoning behind it. But as far as I know, @Saket doesn't even know the title of the song. He just knows what it sounds like. So who knows, it could be either... but now that I see your reasoning behind it, Hymn For The Weekend certainly doesn't sound like a song with a music video displaying kids having fun and enjoying Indian culture. "A Head Full Of Dreams" sounds like just the right title for it, a colorful world with celebrations in the music video would make a ton of sense for a title like that. BTW, if AHFOD is what you say it is than it's the most Newplay track if anything. A real Coldplay track tho... we'll have to wait and see what that'll be. As for him hearing a woman's voice, then it could very well by Hymn For The Weekend (Which wouldn't make sense, because of your reasoning, again) but we know now that Beyonce's in that track. But if it's AHFOD they're filming (more likely) than this essentially confirms that Merry Clayton's area in the album is in AHFOD. Just some thoughts :) BTW, how excited are you for that VR music video! I am so looking forward to it...:D

Ink. Oceans and O are great songs. How anyone can vote for them when trash (relatively speaking) like Magic is still around is beyond me. I like Ink too, but it's the worst of the bunch we're restricted to voting to. BTW: It's not that I don't like Magic, because I really do. I like Magic... but really it's a bit bland, it's unoriginal, you know...it's not really the best song. And therefore, compared to masterpieces like Oceans and O, it really is trash! For me, not in total darkness, but I never listen to GS outside of a midnight (:D) environment. The darkness and the stars above outside really make GS into a magical album. Especially the last half... this album gets better as it goes. Oceans and O are pure MAGIC when you are listening outside when it's night. I prefer GS most when you can see quite a few stars above and the moon is at least a little lit.

@arushofjacktothehead this idea just came out of a sudden moment of inspiration. It's based off your elimination rule. What if (:D), after a day or a week or something (you can decide) that any of the albums below 10 or 20 points (again, you can decide) will be eliminated. Then after another week, any below 40 will be eliminated. This is based off your current elimination rule. I think this new potential idea would make the game even more intense and fun and to get people to vote as much as they can their favorite albums! :D

I agree. I really think that AHFOD will be what MX could have been. If that is, then this will be my favorite album... and I can't see how it'd be after how much I love MX :D But if this album is like MX but even more experimental, and if it turns out great, then this will take my spot as fav album. :D

When'd he say that? If it was recent than I believe you but if it was 2 months ago sorry, but most stuff from 2 months ago is invalid by all the official news now :p Not saying he'd be lying but you can't tell unless @Saket himself said it's definetely not specifically for Hymn for the Weekend.

I do agree with you, they each do sound different. But they do still fall within the same general genre, hence why they sound like a trilogy. They just sound good if you play them in a trilogy. They fall into different subgenres but in general they are in the same genre, and in my opinion the sound does differ between albums but clearly there are a lot of things linking all of them up to (IN GENERAL) have the same sounds that make them appropriate to play in a trilogy. But they still do have seperate sounds. Just sayin'. :) What if it's just an interlude like Mylo Xyloto... :laugh4: But honestly, that would be such a troll move by Coldplay. AHFOD (title track) better not be an interlude, that title sounds awesome and it would seem to be a freaking awesome way to open the album. I am really excited for the title track this album; I honestly think it'll sound amazing, and that it'll be one of the best off AHFOD. (I could be wrong about my predictions, we'll just have to wait and see, but it'd make sense for AHFOD to be almost a colorful version of Viva la Vida. (Title tracks!) If that's the case, than plz, that'd be the next track I'd listen to off AHFOD. But with only 11 tracks off the album, I think there won't be any interludes, unless of course they're actually attached to the track that it's meant to go with :p

^ I must agree, you can't really compare Amazing Day to a masterpiece like Clocks but in my opinion I really like Amazing Day. It's a good song to me. However, it certainly isn't Coldplay's most unique and creative song before. It kind of sounds like that song that you've heard before, no? I love the melody, it's gorgeous. But again, it's not among Coldplay's most creative. In fact, I'd argue that it's one of Coldplay's least creative songs. In most songs they seem to experiment with different sounds and beats, and the melodies seem really original, and everything together seems lkie a brand new, completely original song that hasn't been heard of before. Most of their songs seem to be "fresh" and "creative" in that sort of sense, and that's what I love about Coldplay. Their discography is so diverse and varied that... there's always something to listen to, because most of the time, they come up with really original ideas for songs, and since they are all so varied there's always a song for some particular situation. I just find it so puzzling and bizzare how Coldplay pulls this off... most of their songs fit into the "creative" and "original" category that really sounds like a song you haven't heard of before. It might remind you of other songs but they still "feel" original, you know what I mean? Back to Amazing Day, that song is one of the few songs in Coldplay's discography that doesn't "feel" original. Not to say that I'm disliking Amazing Day for it, because it certainly is a great song. I just feel it lacks creativity, because it's something like you think you've heard before. But I still really love the song. But I also agree with you. If this is the worst song of the album, this album is going to be freaking amazing like nothing ever heard of before. But that's just my opinion, if this is in fact the worst song of the album then this album is going to be great! (At this point though it'll have to be 2nd worst, since in my opinion, while AOAL is definetely superior in creativity and uniqueness to Amazing Day, I just feel that it's not as good a song as Amazing Day. I still am loving the song so far though. :thumbsup:)
