  1. Easily one of the saddest songs ever written, even with not one word. And it's even more so especially for me, I can't listen to this song without crying anymore since someone I love so much had passed away a few months ago, and every night I'd put this on and cry myself to sleep. When I look back on it there's only like 1 time in my life that's ever been that sad for that long. So it was a big loss for me... Even though time may change, the love never goes away my friend. Words can't tell how much I truly love you... the thing that goes away is the consistent pain. Of course every now and then one morning I'll think of it and tear up, perhaps a lot, but the joyful memories with you start to populate my mind more than anything. Until we meet again... Sleep well, and love. <3 <3 <3
  2. I feel your pain, I went through something similar at the beginning of August. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. And if you need anyone to talk to, me and the rest of the Coldplaying community are here with you... One day, I know that you and your sister will meet again, somehow, someway... Until then... may she sleep well.....
  3. Ohhhhh I see, Now you've clarified, I agree with everything. It seems that a few songs they make are definitely made with radio in mind (PoC, HFTW, which I both like, but not as much as some of the other Coldplay songs) and a lot of songs they make sounds like they are straight from the heart and soul but tend to be songs that get massive on the radio (Paradise, Viva, Fix You, etc.) and then most of it obviously doesn't get on radio as with nearly every artist that's the case, and a few are more "weird" and experimental that prob wouldn't get in radio anyway. And of course, with a lot of artists they will say that they didn't really have the radio in mind or anything, but the truth may be different, and we have to think for ourselves, actually listen to the music and determine for ourselves if that's the case. I'm the exact same way with liking songs BTW. I don't care if the song is the most formulaic pop song ever with typical top 40 run of the mill tricks like beat drops, autotune and such, if it's a good song I'll like it. More recently, the songs using these "tricks" haven't been so effective for me as they have been in 2012 and before for example. But even if I may not necessarily like a more "artistic" and "unique" and "creative" song as much, I'll admit that while I like the pop song better, I can appreciate over time what the other artist did much more since those are songs that you can listen over and over again and years later found something deep in the mix that didn't sound like it was present before to your ears. Pop songs even after 3 months can be quickly forgotten and become repetitive and boring. Meanwhile songs like "Baba O'Riley" sounded to my ears like it was a song made in the 2000's, before I realized it was actually made all the way back in '71, looooooooooooooong before I was born. Timeless classics! Can't beat em. Too bad songs nowadays aren't as memorable... (for the record, I typically enjoy more depth and artistry, creativity, and uniqueness in a lot of songs over pop songs anyways :P)
  4. And sing, slow it down
  5. Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground
  6. They're just spies
  7. All very good songs, but Imma go with Videotape, Live from the basement. Simply a masterpiece. No further explanation needed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBH97ma9YiI Mobile Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBH97ma9YiI
  8. Sometimes you'll feel
  9. Ohhhh I see... I do that sometimes too, especially if it's a song IMO that's not necessarily the worst in the list but almost worst since you know oh well, it's gone. And I'd choose a song that's really popular to get eliminated but maybe one I like to save an even more epic song. I didn't dio that this time around since Everglow had enough votes by then IMO :P Oh great, hopefully UWTB don't go soon... I'd choose anything to get eliminated over that....
  10. There's something else that's always been with me last thing before going to bed and I never have dreams about that either, so... (or rarely, the other night I did thankfully :P)
  11. Lol if I ever want any new songs all I gotta do is come to this thread and there's sure to be lots :P
  12. I don't hate it, I like it, but it's just the least good out of the artwork IMO. On that note, why does everyone hate The Scientist?!
  13. System of a Down - Toxicity. I remember playing this song a long while ago on RB2. Really good song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDvIkqapC84 Mobile Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDvIkqapC84
  14. Nice! Glad you really like "Singing Low". Seems this thread officially has been revived by me :P
  15. Ohhhhh I see. Yeah, it does sound quite greedy, and as I said I wasn't expecting or really wanting something like that, but if they do make it that would be even better... Same! Huh?!! No it isn't! Unless you happen to be talking about "Hymn For The Weekend" and "Princess of China" exclusively... yes, a lot of their songs would sound good on radio but they're not necessarily made for radio, you know. That's what most of Coldplay's music is. Then they have the few tracks that certainly aren't really "radio-friendly". Now I guess if you're talking about a lot of Coldplay's songs can get on the radio lots, then yeah you could be right, but not all of it. And I certainly like a lot of Coldplay's big radio hits, and I regard those as "good Coldplay". But, if you take a look, there's something called "hidden gems" that don't find their way on radio at all, and those can be even better Coldplay. Hopefully that's what Chris Martin means by "good Coldplay", because if they're going to slap that label onto more of these formulaic predictable pop songs that's not gonna roll with a lot of people, including me a bit. But if he means beauties like "Gravity" or "See You Soon" etc, then I'm excited for the new EP. Yeah, I agree with you here. I mean, if Coldplay were completely focused on making their tracks as radio-friendly as possible we wouldn't have the pure richness and emotion in songs that we do now. There'd be obvious autotune over everything, big dance beats, overproduction galore, etc. and that's not AHFOD, take a look at actual Top 40 hits nowadays, that's what Coldplay would sound like if they were completely focused on making radio hits. I feel that even with this new album they make music that's straight from the heart and soul, and you can tell this from the emotion that's in the tracks. No doubt now they do probably make it with a certain degree of radio friendliness in mind, but these new songs are far more genuine sounding than a lot of massive hits nowadays. I mean, if you look at the things usually described in massive pop songs like having tons of girls, getting tons of money, being famous... just all of these things, Coldplay really doesn't do that, and they make much more genuine music coming from a more genuine source than a desire to make money. So yeah.
  16. Never an honest word...
  17. ^ Think that was meant to be "J" :D Jonny, epic guitarist his guitar in Coldplay songs is amazing!!!!!! :D
  18. Yeah you belong with me, not swallowed in the sea
  19. I'm not sure but it's almost like everyone follows the first person to vote for something like this... or the second... or the third... Can Everglow not die? Even though I know it will... and it is one of the weaker songs on the list... it's still really good... I mean, this is a really good combination of songs... Strawberry Swing
  20. Everglow They say people come, say people go, this particular diamond was extra special. And though you might be gone, and the world may not know still I see you celestial... vs A Sky Full Of Stars 'Cause you're a sky, 'cause you're a sky full of stars I wanna die in your arms 'Cause you get lighter the more it gets dark I'm gonna give you my heart
  21. Haha, all of it sounded like a nightmare... What a crazy in depth dream though. Really interesting! For some reason I like never have any Coldplay dreams, only once have I had one in more than a year of being a fan... I don't know why that is... some things I just don't dream about for whatever reason LOL, this made me realize that a Fix You and Photograph mashup would actually sound pretty good!!! Lol, lots of things I type in Coldplay related have already done that, one of them for me not being Prospekt's however as I don't type that much on my phone I guess
  22. Wow, so you're even luckier than I thought!
  23. Here comes the sun (Beatles cover)
