  1. 7/10. Pretty good instrumentally. Like those vocal effects in the chorus, gives off such a unique vibe, really reminds me of the guitar effects used at the end of "Seperator" by Radiohead (by far the best song of the album it came off of btw...) The song sounds quite unique, different from other songs that sound similar... Not my favorite but still nice to listen to. Would be higher rated if there was a different singer, he sounds kind of weird for the music and his voice totally doesn't match up with the guy singing in the video, sounds much older... Speaking of Seperator...
  2. Not gonna bother color coding my previous post, so far back now no one's gonna read it anyway :laugh3: gai, your quote's in red. coldplay_lover4, your quote's in blue. alisbe, your 2 quotes are in gold. anacaren08, your quote's in green. Nie, your quote's in magenta. I ran away, your quote's in orange. [spoiler=Quotes] I can't see it... You're quite lucky! And thank you. :) Welcome back! Am glad :) Sad you failed the interview, better luck next time... And it's fine I'd think anyway, this is a general discussion thread and I'm sure a few posts even off topic from Coldplay are fine as long as it doesn't turn into a full blown conversation :) That sucks, hopefully you find a way to get there really soon... Wow, scary... Good luck! I can't offer much advice sorry, I am not at the age where I would be doing that yet but I guess let that Coldplay make you keep calm, those are definitely very relaxing songs to listen to in stressful times like these... I have to say I'd much rather go to the first show pictured than the second one :) I was just going to say, some people would actually find the first show more appealing as the second one looks really flashy and poppy and dancy... I'd like both and I don't know since I've never went to either style show but I would love the second one, I would be going to see a band I absolutely love most in the world and I would feel so happy, and I'd want to be dancing around with balloons and flashy lights everywhere, I wouldn't be in the mood to listen to more downtempo songs and if I did the meaning of those songs would be weakened because I'd still be feeling so happy lol, while the super upbeat music would match my mood. Just my opinion on it, I'm sure the first show would be totally epic as well though... not so crowded I guess and more downtempo. Either way love both :) So glad I am back on computer now... :D
  3. MDT (UTC-6)
  4. A head full of Dreams
  5. How come people suffer, how come people part?
  6. That's funny, for how the majority of people including you Paradise wasn't amazing sounding at first, but now it's grown! It was an instantaneous favorite of mine. Glad you like it now though, :)
  7. Yeah it's probably his falsetto my favorite. He does it so well...
  8. Where did my post go? :( Brothers & Sisters
  9. I picture an overcast light rainy day by the sea on this peninsula kinda thing. Such a good song to sing along too, one of the best if not the best and most satisfying Coldplay song to sing along too IMO Magic
  10. This is the Paradise of the new album. Such a beautiful melodic masterpiece, yet upon hearing it hated by quite a few. I remember seeing Paradise as one of the most hated songs back in the day, it seems to have grown on everyone now. Hope the same happens with this song.
  11. Same. Green Eyes for me is in the lower half of AROBTTH songs but is still so nice! Goes to show how good that album is. Down upon the canvas, working meal to meal
  12. Got a lot to catch up on, earliest posts go four pages back. Never ceases to amaze me how active this thread can become, to be fair I guess the NA 2017 dates have been released which likely played a role in this. Gonna suck. On mobile. Gonna be back to my comp really soon though so that'll be wonderful. Congratulations! :) I'll (hopefully) be going to the show on Sep 26. Now my dad did see one presale starting Oct 13 but apparently there's one starting Tuesday in Canada as far as I've heard? Confused, is this for a different show? Gotta know. Want him to get earliest tickets possible to get best seats. Help would be appreciated, thanks. Need to post this in that other official thread then I have higher chance of getting answers as well... Sweet!!! First time, Dad looking to take me to the one on the 26th. As far as I know no one else lives in this area of the world that is a Coldplay fan frequenting this forum, but there might... Anyone else going there? :D Lol settle down, some of us like me haven't even seen them yet... Same, just watching one on YouTube on a computer screen gets me excited, if that is only a miniscule taste of what it will actually be, which it is, imma lose my mind!!! Lol, so happy for you! I remember visiting a special place over the summer, that is as fun to me as a Coldplay concert even though it's much more low key, it feels like I should be jumping into the clouds and beyond and dancing at a Coldplay concert when that happened :D i was so nervous for it and in the small town near the place I literally only got something to eat to slow down my arrival because it felt like I was going there wayyyyyyyy too quickly, and it course before I knew it I was there, shaking so much uncontrollably... Again I felt like jumping into the clouds like i would at a Coldplay concert, whenever I think of that place I also think jumping up and down at Coldplay concert since it's such a beautiful and energizing experience... I went there two times!!! :D in terms of what I did even though I was that excited for it it was just a taste of what some people experience... Man if i get to eventually do the best stuff i might completely lose my mind, I wouldn't be able to handle it :D i know the feeling... When my parents confirm it I'm going to do same lol!! Even though it's going to be in a year for me!! That other thing i got excited for btw I think is going to even better in month and a half from now, and when I think of it I start already lose my mind... I know what you mean lol Such a shame though that Coldplay have to resort to making poor lyrics... Pretty sure there's a way to make happy music without doing that and going super mainstream friendly poppy like that. :( I remember watching this a while ago, is epic. We'll miss you! Have s good weekend! That would be awesome coming up to Canada, trust me it is a beautiful place you'll love it!! Have "A Head Full Of Dreams" till then :) Seems to be inspired off of Coldplay, maybe that's why... Whoever put them up must be a fan of them :D That was not as painful as I expected. :D Might edit this later to color code and all that, to lazy right now lol
  13. True that! There are some songs i can do falsetto on, this is not one of them, not because it's high because it's not, but it's hard to actually sound good while singing, Chris Martin does it wonderfully. Your far from alone, I've seen a few other people on here dislike it too. I love the song itself, it's too bad Stargate overproduced it and completely ruined it. The live version was perfect. Hopefully one day we get a studio remake of that...
  14. Congratulations! Happy for you. Love those songs too...
  15. What I feel like sometimes....... EDIT: Can't believe I actually found another Coldplay song with this word... The streets are paved with gold. So proud of myself lol. What a nice song too, so peaceful, funny thing is the last thing i expected with a title like that was a song just like this lol.
  16. I Thought about doing this once but never got around to it... On an instrumentals live stream I did go from AROBTTH to GS (it took GS forever to start and of course people were making jokes like it broke the Internet it was so bad lol.) It really does take you through a journey of themselves and start they've gone through, gradually becoming bigger and more confident with each release just like themselves as people. More free. Doing it I think it will make more sense why they made AHFOD the way they did. Still not sure what's up with Stargate and these pop collabs but oh well. Nothing lasts forever. Just gotta enjoy what they put out because one day they are going to call it one. Sorry to break all of your hearts. It's the ugly truth. Face it. Your favorite thing will one day be only a memory and very far in the future may not even be a memory at all. Just nothing compared to the vast sea of other things out there... Makes me sad to. Believe me. :( But don't let it break your heart. Admire what we have now and don't waste time thinking about worse days because it will all add up in the end. Enjoy it while we can. :)
  17. Unique for Coldplay. Hard rock feel and was (and still is) vastly different from anything they've ever done. So props for that. I visualize not really a scene, I guess it would work best on a cloudy day around noon, I visualize mainly white for a color like most AROBTTH-era content. With a touch of green maybe. But admittedly one of my least favorite Coldplay songs, really am missing what makes Coldplay songs good here. Hurts like Heaven
  18. Yayyyyyyy!!!! Probably going to one of these.
  19. True. :D Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh I see why people wouldn't like MX as much... I could see if you were a fan back then and you were expecting to hear some crazy experimental album but instead got a more commercially accessible release compared to that you'd be biased to say it would be pop which of course compared to something like Kid A it is. I came in fresh which is probably why I really love Mylo Xyloto better than any other album ever. But to be fair it really doesn't make sense to get mad over repeated words and random chants that aren't even words because many songs through Viva did that, especially the title track. I don't get mad over that kind of stuff because it really fits in with the song and if the song is good even if it's the most mainstream song I'll like it. The emotion and melodies of songs like that make me look past the tricks that are now overused to make it sound that way. If it sounds good I don't care I'll love it. :D

  21. And everyone else don't get me wrong in general I much prefer Coldplay's old music to their new content and their new direction is starting to cross a little bit into the mainstream side of things for me especially with Hymn and X Marks the Spot but with every album Coldplay will have the "worse" songs and when it's a more commercially accessible album like this one for us it's going to be the ones that seem to cross the line in terms of radio friendliness. And I even like HFTW but lyrically it is not much better than radio music nowadays but instrumentally there are a few elements that set it apart, I don't know for some reason it gives off this exotic flavor to it. Not as obviously as in the Viva era but I mean it does sound like something new for Coldplay regardless, this whole album sounds like a different variation of the popp-ier side of Coldplay for the last three albums.. Just like rock with the early Coldplay. Softer and less obvious in the first album, rockier in the second, and even more yet again in the third. Just like Coldplay's last three albums in pop: the first was barely even pop, like a couple were pop rock and like 1 straight mainstream pop, the rest was upbeat rock with a colorful sound and a teeny bit of pop influence sprinkled over it. Second one was popp-ier, with a really chill atmosphere to it. This third one is by far the poppiest! The album following the trilogy of the first three albums is an exception for obvious reasons and seems to be that transition period. What's to say this time around will be any different? They're saying they felt like they've completed a chapter with this latest release and I wholeheartedly agree with this statement, their discography showcases their evolution as artists from a state of completely not knowing what their future would be and feeling scared, to a state of complete freedom and happiness knowing they could release anything and they would do just fine. Which was exactly what they did. Up&Up finishes the era off very strongly as a song itself looking past the awful overproduction. This world tour has been the biggest, truly visiting a lot of the world and it lasting a very long time to make up for the nothing that was GS era. After will likely be a hiatus to recharge their batteries, and just like after X&Y we might get something completely different from anything they've done before. Starting to wonder and get excited... What could it be? They're surely done with the pop stuff after this, it was a trilogy just like the rock era, heck Mylo doesn't really even fit in but I guess it kinda has to. Probably getting over hyped and it might just be nothing lol. Gotta wait a while anyway... They better make it worth the wait! Signs are pointing to it, I mean they're playing downtempo, old and rare songs much more frequently now. They might be starting to getting tired of playing massive singalong songs all the time now and I could see why, we already seen that they don't want to have the same sound all the time. So who knows what lies in the future? :) That's a really nice song, so warming and nice. :)
  22. I thought that was Jonny, lol Why wouldn't you be able to listen to Coldplay? :D Lol same although luckily I can withstand it really well for some reason so I don't say that often except when I listen to the song or is in my head, i love it playing so much :D
  23. No one heard that one
