Random Coldplay thoughts...
Yeah but there's like a really small version of So Sad, I remember hearing a longer one but it sounded nothing like this one... Wish they'd just release their really old songs one day without the talking over it. And what about the other song? I've never heard it before. Sorry I might just be forgetting something big here...

The first/most recent song/album you bought/downloaded
First in a while. Let's try to bring this to light a little more, so we could hear everyone's first/most recent purchases! :) First song: Perfect (Acoustic Version) - Simple Plan. I went looking for the version by Hedley (a Canadian band that's as popular as Taylor Swift in Canada but virtually unknown everywhere else, you likely don't know of them). Adore both songs to this day, including the normal version of Simple Plan's Perfect. First albun: ...I don't know. I know it was a Coldplay album though. If I had to guess it'd likely be Ghost Stories. Most recent song: Jane Says - Jane's Addiction. Heard this on satellite radio which I've been listening to more of recently, especially the Lithium channel which feels like an extended version of the playlist I have on my phone since nearly every song that comes on I get on my phone. If it weren't for them I wouldn't have known many bands I've turned out to like today. I guess the radio still is good in the right places... :) Most recent album: If I remember correctly, Jon Hopkins "Immunity", which was around 3 months ago. A beautiful experimental minimalist techno style album, I really enjoy this one. Exactly an hour long too. Interestingly enough. So ya. :)

"I just bought..." -- post your recent purchase!
I lol'ed at that last part :P Man, all of you guys are so cool with your vinyls and posters and special pictures and stuff... and here's me in a lonely corner, with not even a single physical item or anything related to Coldplay, not even a little key thingy... let alone a CD... :( Who knew that the new "cool" thing would actually be having physical releases of music once again rather than just having it on your phone as a digital file, which used to be the "cool" thing way back when? I mean, the music itself is the same. But I feel as it something about it is in fact different... the music is stored on something so precious and irreplacable, that actually has a collector's kind of purpose behind it.... I mean, any old Joe Schmoe could buy the MP3, or even pirate it. There's the music! But it feels... disposable. Replacable. Unlike these collectors items here which you over time form an irreplacable bond with. You can't just "get another one" and expect it to feel the same way. You've built up great times and memories over the years with it that can't be replaced by simply just buying another one... and over time it just becomes so important in your life to you, amongst this new digital age where you can get unlimited amounts of everything... Something that's rarer. More precious. That holds a bond, a feeling, a purpose more effectively then a disposable digital file. Sure, it's easier getting a digital file and listening to it. But that's the thing. Everything is too easy nowadays it seems like. With stuff like vinyl or even CD you've got to spend a little extra time setting stuff up and dedicating time to listen to the album, actually physically handling objects, getting up, moving around in the process... and even while listening you may go do something else. That forms memories much more effectively then mindlessly clicking "play" to play a full album. You're enveloped in this digital sea all of the time you're doing that. If you spend an hour listening to the physical copy in the living room on a really nice day... the experience feels more genuine. And so true memories with your record will form over time, better than once again mindlessly clicking play on a digital copy. People my age tend not to care or think about these things, and I grew up in this more digitized age of stuff... hence why I never got around to getting much of anything physical when it comes to Coldplay, even though I'd like too! It's just the convenience of digital stuff is nice and has distracted me for so long...one day I shall get these physical copies. Sooner rather than later hopefully, let's enjoy this younger less busy life while I can! :) Hope all of you enjoyed the little topic I went off on LOL :)

===The ultimate Oldplaying Thread===S, BS, TBR, P, AROBTTH, X&Y, VLV, PM===
Now, sorry if I actually did say this before but I don't remember specifically saying AOAL sounds like other pop acts. I said it only started to get closer to resembling the sound of other pop acts. And you're right. Maybe I did get a little carried away, there are numerous elements in AOAL that make it stand out from the rest of the mainstream radio nowadays, I mean it actually has a real electric guitar, I thought everyone forgot about those by now!!! :P It is an enjoyable and fun song, and you're right it almost does sound like a mix of the older Coldplay kind of style in that way plus a new flavor of catchiness layered on to it. It's a nice song, lots of people complain about the vocal chops by Stargate. I personally don't mind, I think they might even add to the song but I can definetely see why some people would have a problem with it! The other version of AOAL is what would have been really nice for Coldplay to release, I mean the album version obviously does fit more in the album but the person who did that should try remaking the whole album, it would probably be a bit better then the original product. :)

First impression: 7.3/10. Neat song, and unique. There's quite a few songs of it's type however that are quite a bit better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DmmLAicrQA Mobile Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DmmLAicrQA

All Artists Lyric Game!
Based on this Coldplay lyric game. Hi everyone, I've decided to make another thread, this time another version of @karvi22's "Coldplay lyrics game". Same rules and everything, for more info check out that thread. Except for one new rule: you can't use "common" words such as "as" or "the" or "a" or "it" or anything like that to link together lyrics. If you have any questions on what qualifies as a "common" word please check with me before posting if you're that concerned about it... it's not too big of a deal, I'm just interested in trying to keep a certain level of challenge here. :) Oh, and of course you can use lyrics from any artist in the world to link together lyrics. At all. That's really all to explain here. I'm not going to drag it out like I've done in the past, make it all flashy with colors, try too hard to sound professional and not mess up and everything, and to be honest cringeworthy, lol :) Then again those threads were legitimately complex so maybe I did have to do all that.. lol. Keeping it nice and simple this time around. Yeah! :D Alright, you get the point. Let's see how this goes! I'll start: You're in control, is there anywhere you want to go?

The ABC's of Coldplay
Ooooooh, Don Quixote! I completely forgot about that Coldplay Song till you brought it up, that's very good song. They gotta record it!! Radiohead, one of Coldplay's primary influences in their early days. If it weren't for them there would be sooooooooooo many amazing songs that have been written that wouldn't have been written without someone like Radiohead. Coldplay wouldn't exist... just imagine that. Gotta pay respect to these guys... I was just reading up actually on their "OK Computer", as far as the theme goes it's one of the best albums of all time, really it IS one of the best albums of all time, I don't know why I'm saying just that. It's so true, what an influential album! I can't help but notice "Bigger Stronger" has a similar title to "Fitter Happier", I absolutely guarantee you that song wouldn't exist without Fitter Happier, even though the songs themselves are quite different. Such A Rush sounds like Coldplay covered Radiohead, that's how similar it is IMO. Now just notice how different they are... AHFOD and AMSP, two completely different albums by once similar artists. Oh how some things change...

7-7.5/10. On first listening to the track I do really like it. There are better songs out there but this one is quite unique with that other sound in the background making up for some lost points! :)

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear that coldplay song?
what!!!! Trouble isn't good?!! Okay then Imma do it then. This is my fav from Parachutes. It has a wonderful melancholic vibe to it and always reminds me of being in the rain, throughout it's such a masterpiece! Especially at the end part where the piano really shines through. It then reminds me of being right beside a campfire in the rain, after a long day in the rain... (I seen someone here liken Oldplay songs in particular to this feeling, this is where I get that from and I completely agree with that.) So that's my opinion on Trouble. Right for listening on a cold yet warm night. As for Car Kids, I am mad it's unreleased. :P Hurts Like Heaven

War of the Coldplay lyrics
If Fix You included a few lines before those starting with the first Tears stream.... thing I would have chosen that, but... Up&Up When you're in pain, when you think you've had enough... don't ever give up! VS Square One You're in control, is there anywhere you want to go? You're in control, is there anything you want to know?
