Tuning for Storytellers version of The Scientist?
i doubt chris' piano is tuned differently. but that's just my opinion.
-
Shiver acoustic
its only that tuning for chris' chords. jonny's lead is on standard tuning whether theyre playing it acoustic or electric.

Coldplay And Foo Fighters To Headline Isle Of Wight
maybe coldplayingers should take something to distinguish ourselves. or how bout we all hold up signs to coldplay during a song (we'd all agree in advance of course) and tell chris to say hi to coldplaying.com forum whilst on stage! just an idea! :D

Should I Get A Guitar?
start on an acoustic like a yamaha for £100. itll be good and not too extravagant. dont get a classical cos you cant play coldplay properly with one. definately learn yourself cos then you can create your own style and save money. learn on an acoustic and then when you get good you'll be amazing on electric cos theyre much easier to play!

Abbey Road : The Aftermath!
100% true i swear. he was just like jonny is in interviews. really humble and kind of surprised to get attention. i suppose outside of concert venues he hardly gets recognised so he was probably not expecting it. jonny was lovely and seemed like he actually wanted to hear what i had to say unlike some famous people who dont care. :D :D :D :D

The official Coldplay very long holiday (break up) thread
they've been so great to us over the past year. 6 proper gigs in london alone! shed loads of tv shows (jonothan ross twice for example) and god knows how many gigs worldwide. they appreciate their fans so they deserve time off.

Abbey Road : The Aftermath!
haha! i thought that might come up! i didnt say anything on here about it because i thought it might step across cross the line in terms of jonny's privacy. basically I was at a pub near where i live at uni in London (trying to make things up with an ex girlfriend!) and jonny was there! it was 3 days before they went on the 2nd leg of their american tour in january. anyway he left and obviously lived around there but i followed him and called to him in the street and basically told him everything ive ever wanted to tell him. chatted for about 5 minutes! i was so nervous and my mouth dried up so quickly. i even told him about ode to deodorant as it had just been put up on this forum! at the end he said that i had, and i quote, "boosted his confidence". Then he asked my name and went into his house. Anyway i know its weird i didnt say it on here when it happened but i thought there would be loads of questions about where he lived etc (so dont ask them now) and i dont really think its our right to know that kind of thing. i didnt mean to find out. does that sound ok? i dont want to sound like an idiot but if we go down that route then it might be a little invasive into their private lives which we know they dont want.

The official Coldplay very long holiday (break up) thread
he said "you wont see us at one of these (ie the brits) for a few years". even if they released an album in a years time (which would be really soon) then they wouldnt get nominations at the brits until 2008. I think theyll just do the same thing they did for X&Y. They need to take time off and then get fresh to write a new album. i'm not worried! :D

Abbey Road : The Aftermath!
Hey everyone, I'll start from the beginning. I got to abbey road at 11.30 and there was no one there apart from some tourists taking pictures and walking across the zebra crossing. Waited for about an hour and still no one had turned up so I went into the reception and was told to leave because I wasn’t authorised to be there. Things were not looking hopeful. A few people turned up a bit later including some obvious ebayers (those who get pictures signed to sell on ebay, not for their own pleasure!) and at about 4.30 a succession of mercedes came into abbey road at 5 minute intervals. First was will and he came over to the gates and signed for everyone and shook hands etc! Then Guy arrived and he did the same and both were lovely. Then Jonny arrived (my hero!) and I know you’re not gona believe this but I met him randomly in camden about a month ago (at which point I declared my love for him) so when he came up to us at abbey road he said hi to me and how are u?!?!?! I couldn’t believe it and so I asked him if he recognised me and he said “yeh, from Camden” and then asked my full name. I know it sounds ridiculous but I have proof from the people who were there! Chris arrived 5 minutes later but went straight in . Rumour has it that he was ambushed by paparazzi outside his house so wasn’t in the mood . Ok so by this point more and more people started turning up and these women began checking people’s confirmation emails and checking their IDs and giving them tickets. I felt so gutted cos they said to me there was no point hanging around because there were absolutely no tickets spare and that the event had be oversubscribed so there wouldn’t be any room. But I stayed anyway because it was worth it on the off chance. At 6.45, the doors opened and the friends id made at the front of the queue all went in and I was left outside . By 7.30 everyone was in except for the VIPs and some late comers. My overall conclusion of the people that had gone in was very poor! They didn’t know anything bout coldplay which made me really mad because the real fans like us on this message board weren’t getting a chance to go and we’d appreciate it so much more. I think my point was proved when Tara Palmer Thompkinson turned up. (for all of you who aren’t English – she’s the Paris Hilton of the UK). At this point I was getting desperate and I begged the women with the tickets to let me in. Matt McGinn (Jonny’s roadie) came out to let his girlfriend in so I asked him if he could get me in. He said he’d try his best but couldn’t promise anything. He came back and said he couldn’t get anyone else in! Gutted! Finally one of the women in charge came up to me and said that she’d try and get me in subtly cos didn’t want to piss off the organisers and by this point about 5 other non ticket holders had turned up too (theyd been there about 2 hours). 15 minutes came and went and I was so worried because it didn’t look like it was going to happen but then suddenly the guy on the door said ok “two at a time and make it quick” to us so we went up the steps of abbey road the down stairs into what I think was studio 2 but not sure. Oh My God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The gig was about to start and adrenaline just made me push my way to the front and nobody seemed to mind. Id say only about 250 people were there. I honestly could’ve touched jonnys pedals I was that close! They came on bout 2 mins after I got there so we’d really left it late getting in! Ok I’l try to remember the best and funniest bits of the gig. The boys seemed to appreciate there were a lot of crap celebrities there and in Poltik Chris sang “Look at earth from outer space, so may big brother celebrities in this place”. Chris was in such a funny mood and kept dedicating songs to a woman called Lynn who id queued with at the beginning. She was there with her son and chris kept calling her a yummy mummy! Chris swore loads so was worried the songs wouldn’t be allowed on radio and he kept making references about kanye west (who had just arrived) and how cool he is. They were told that theyd have to re record yellow or politik for radio cos the versions they did earlier in the set weren’t ok but they refused and did In my Place instead. What a bonus!. Chris’ piano stopped working in Fix You so they had to start again and he sang a different melody in the verse which was cool. It was over so quickly which was sad but the best moment of my life without doubt! I just can’t get over how close they were! Anyway sorry that was so long but thought id tell u every detail. Anything else you want to know then just ask. The celebrities that were there : Tara Palmer Thomkinson, Michael and Emily Eavis, Jamie Cullum, Kanye West, Chris Evans, Chief exec EMI, Paul Gambaccini. Oh and btw, cameras and recording equipment were not allowed in although there was an official photographer and I got some on my phone too which I’ll post up with the set list soon!
