It is only 1 song, but I kind of get the feeling it was thrown in to keep newer fans happy. I wouldn't mind if it was upbeat and sugary if it had a good song and melody behind it but it doesn't. I agree, although ASFOS is in no way near Pride onto Unforgettable Fire and just doesn't work in the album in my opinion. I get your point though. Some of the melodies, hooks and dark production on GS is outstanding. Oceans is a throwback to some of the early bsides like Careful Where you Stand and O has the vulnerability of Everythings Not Lost, also the production and melody on True Love leading into the dark strange guitar at the end is really fantastic. I've said this before but I love old Coldplay before MX and VLV. I almost feel like I've got them back with this. There's a vulnerability/sadness about it which was there in the earlier albums. I don't think later fans will like it. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

So I've been listening to the clips we have all day and then I went back to ASFOS.....jees,it made me want to hit my head off a wall. O, Always in my Head, Oceans are some of the best songs Coldplay have done for years and then they release ASFOS. i got shouted at for saying this in the jools post ill try here...lol. anyway, i quite like the production,its different and the drums and synths are quite good. what kills the song for me is the lack of decent songwriting underneath. it doesnt really go anywhere, it gets boring and repetitive after a while and i struggle to listen to it all the way through. its a shame because the songwriting in most of coldplays songs is superb. Hate to say it but ASFOS isn't much better live than in studio. My wife heard it for the 1st time on Jools tonight and her reaction half way through was "this is sh##". She wasn't impressed with magic either. I don't mind Magic but ASFOS is poor, songwriting wise it goes nowhere and is dull and it relies on Aviccis (sp?) production. Disappointed I'm afraid. I was there last night on the pitch and i have go say the stewarding and overcrowding ruined it totally. There was far goo many people going where they wanted and you were getting trampled on and knocked over every minute. Ive been to lots of massivr concerts but last nights was a shambles for crowd control. Im considering going back tonight and buying a ticket outside for a seat so i can see it and enjoy it

Its a terrible song.

Ear Candy. Theres nothing too it. You could hear it on the radio and not even notice it. No rawness to it, no definite sound. The more i hear it the worse it gets. Really awful song.

Not only because of Rhinna (she adds to the mess) but its got to be one of the worst Coldplay around (along with ETIAW and Paradise) POC just sounds like a syrupy over produced mess.

They are dropping more than expected.
