True. Although having a Liverpool accent in Manchester is probably worse. It's most likely gonna happen again when I'm moving away for uni next year. Really not looking forward to that.
  2. Maybe because he's worried that he might not have made the right choice? That's what I'd be like anyway. I hate making decisions like that. Hope you'll have a good time!

Everyone at my old work supported Man United. I constantly got stupid comments from them. You don't even have to know them or like football. If you've got a slight Scouse accent, people are definitely gonna make fun of you.

I can imagine. I got some advice from my uni and they said that it happens a lot. Apparently most people don't even read their contract.

Yeah they were. Spent a whole month's wages on her stupid sister's rent too. Never signing a joint contract ever again. I'm actually seriously considering college accommodation for next year after all the trouble I've had with private landlords.
  6. I really like her. Her music that is, don't really care about her looks. I like Amy Winehouse a lot too. Shame about her drug addition. My friend went to see her a few years ago and she started crying on stage.

True! Still I'm surprised because she was SO arrogant when she came to our house. She also threatened to take my housemate to court because he owed her like £100 or something as he didn't pay the bills. So glad I no longer have to deal with those people.

I'd NEVER do it again. They are quite common around here and I trusted the people which turned out to be a big mistake.
  9. I'm not from Manchester but I used to work there so I know the city quite well. I think it's alright. It's good for shopping and the nightlife is pretty good. It rains a lot though and it's generally quite cold. I think Ian and Jenjie live in Manchester. They might be able to help you more.

Someone did that to our fridge (before we moved in) and it smells of rotten meet and you just can't get rid off the smell. We told our landlord several times but he says he can't smell it so we haven't had a fridge all year. As for roommates, I've never shared a room with anyone but I've shared flats with loads of people. Most of them were alright. I made some really good friends and I generally found it quite easy to avoid the people I didn't get on with particularly well. However, I had a massive argument with a girl when I was in second year. We had a joint tenancy agreement, which means everyone's responsible for the whole of the rent, as opposed to their share. Her sister never moved in because she didn't get the grades to do a masters so we had a spare room, which wouldn't be an issue. However, both the girl and her sister promised us to look for a replacement tenant and to pay the rent till the person moves in but they never did. We started looking for a replacement tenant ourselves after we received a letter saying the landlord would take us to court if we don't pay the extra rent. The new girl moved in shortly after we received the letter and my housemate decided to move out herself without telling us! She told us she'd be moving out the next day because 'a family member wasn't well'. She did find a replacement tenant but her sister's rent STILL wasn't paid and there was no way to contact her. However, the bills were in her name and my housemate never paid his share because he thought it was only fair as he had to pay her sister's rent [which was far more than the bills]. This resulted in her and her dad coming to our house the day after my housemate moved out [which she knew because he stupidly announced it on Facebook] to pick up the sky box and the wireless LAN thingy at like 9 in the morning. They woke me up and I made a big mistake and let them in although I had paid the bills. However, I had a go at her and told her how unfair the whole rent thing was and basically told her to fuck off in front of her dad. I'm actually quiet a shy person but this was going on all year so I was extremely angry. I was proper shocked after I realised what I had done. Anyway her dad tried to calm me down and told me that the girl's sister wasn't working, which I knew wasn't true so I called him a liar and we all just ended up swearing at each other. I bumped into her in a newsagent in town a few months later and she left immediately and pretended she didn't see me, which is weird because she always came across as a very confident person.
  11. Sounds good! We stayed in an amazing B&B when we went to Silverstone. It was on a farm and the people were lovely and so helpful. The food was great too.
  12. Well done! My friend's there and she really likes it. I've got a conditional offer from Manchester too but I'm leaning towards Durham. It all depends on my final results though.
  13. Are you going to travel through the whole of Britain, or just through the South? I can only help you with the North really. I've only ever been to London, Oxford and Silverstone.

Mine never really grew up haha Is it a Golden Retriever? I think it would be different if I had met my partner when I was like 17. I only met my boyfriend about three years ago and we haven't been able to live together for very long because he had to move back home after he finished uni.

I couldn't imagine getting married in the next few years. I doubt I'm gonna married before I'm 30. I think I'm far too young, I don't really know what I wanna do with my life. My family seems to think that I should be getting married, which is quite annoying. Even my nan asked me when I'm getting married when I went home for Christmas. Btw I like your avatar. Reminds me of my first dog.
  16. I don't think I would. Everyone (especially girls) gets all excited when they see babies but I never do. They're all the same to me. I find puppies cute but I'm just really not interested in babies. I often feel bad about it and pretend that I like them but I can't change the way I feel. I used to think that this is gonna change when I'm older but I'm in my twenties now and I don't think I'll ever feel different. I like older kids, just not babies.
  17. I'm also really worried that my Masters is gonna be a lot harder than my Bachelors degree, that I end up doing badly and that I'll never be able to find a graduate job. :embarrassed: I'm also terrified of getting old. I'm not really scared of getting married. I don't think being married to your partner would change your relationship really. Not sure if I'm ever going to get married, I don't feel like it's something I have to do but maybe some day. Pregnancy on the other hand scares me A LOT. I can't imagine having children either, I think I'd be a terrible mother. I really hope I'll never get pregnant.
  18. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/formula_one/13029061.stm So annoying. There was a time when you could watch a race and you knew the result. Not anymore. What happened to normal racing incidents?
  19. I don't know, I think it's a bit like those F1 season reviews that only show you the crashes. Some people like to see these kind of pictures because they're spectacular. I don't think they're genuinely concerned about the animals.
  20. I didn't pick up on it either. I was watching it in town and I don't think any of the people who were watching it with me noticed it. Sad news indeed. Unfortunately it seems to be happening pretty much every year. Apparently the BBC is accused of covering up the deaths http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/8440520/BBC-attacked-for-covering-up-Grand-National-deaths.html I had no luck on the betting this year. One of my horses didn't even finish.
  21. Have fun!
  22. haha this pretty much sums it up I actually feel like sending this to a certain person but it would be a very bad idea because I might end up losing my job.
  23. that I got an offer from my first choice university. Looks like I'm all sorted for next year provided I do alright in my final exams. I'll most likely be moving to a different city this year, which is scary but also very exciting! Also I've learned that some people hate you because you're doing well. I actually knew this before but I find it quite hurtful.
  24. It was raining this morning but it's much nicer now.
