  1. Is he serious? British girls are more obsessed with looks than anyone. They even dress up to go shopping!
  2. Sorry I didn't comment on the album because I've already had it for about two weeks. I just wanted to get an actual copy. As you said there's still elements from Rudebox but it actually works well. I love 'Starstruck', I'm actually surprised that it wasn't the first single from the album. 'You know me' is probably my second favourite song on it, couldn't get it out of my head when I first heard it. As for the ballads, I think 'Blasphemy' is an amazing song. I love the chorus of 'Superblind' but I'm not very keen on the verse. All in all a good album.
  3. Galaxy chocolate, especially cookie crumble
  4. I've only got one scar that's visible. It's on my wrist and it's quite small so you can't see it if wear a watch or a bracelet. I guess I'm very lucky.
  5. I just watched it and absolutely loved it. In other news I bought his album today. Couldn't get the DVD version though because I they don't have HMV where I work (as I found out today).
  6. Cool! I actually found it now. 'Loose women' didn't come up in the of programmes for some reason but I found it when I googled it.
  7. I checked the website but you don't seem to be able to watch this programme on the ITV player. Thanks, I'll record it tonight then.
  8. I totally forgot about 'Loose Women'.:( Any idea where I can still watch it?
  9. I don't smoke.
  10. It's supposed to be much healthier of you drink it without milk. :(
  11. I'm sure it happens. :) The people I went to school with were like that.
  12. What kind of school/high school / university you have attended? i went to state schools like most people in Switzerland do. The last school I went to was very selective as it is the only school in the area where you can do A Levels. (not a lot of people get to do A Levels in Switzerland) You liked it? I hated it. You think people get different knowledge depending on which kind of school they've been educated? To some extent. All schools are supposed to teach you the same things but you'll end up leaning less if you go to school in certain areas. You think it offers you different chances in the future? It was the only state school where you can do A Levels in my area. You get in different social circles/ambiences depending on that? You do. A lot of people were quite arrogant because you are constantly told that only the best people get in. The school was very selective which made a lot of people selfish. Everyone was worried that they might drop out and more than half of my class did. You would prefer to have attended a different one? Most certainly, it was a nightmare. I wish I had done my A Levels in the UK.
  13. I work in a grammar school and most of the pupils are friendly. I can't stand the teachers though, most of them are very arrogant and incredibly rude. They also seem to think they're superior because they don't have a Northern accent.:dozey:
  14. If it's conditional If I were a boy, I think I could understand (but it's a girls singing it) but you could also say If I was a boy...
  15. Do you mean 'if' sentences?
  16. Present Continuos: -when you're doing something right now I'm doing my homework - to express an action in the future I'm visiting my grandparents tomorrow. Past simple: - finished action in the past I used to live in London when I was child. I went to the cinema last night. Present Perfect: -action that started in the past but it hasn't finished yet I've lived in Liverpool for three years. (You still live there) -something that only just happened I've just seen your friend - with ever, never, for, since Have you ever played tennis? I've liked him for years. Past Continuos: -same use as Present Continuos if action is in the past - ongoing action in the past, that's interrupted by another one I was watching TV when the doorbell rang. Past Perfect: - to express that something happened longer ago than another action. I had studied English for years when i moved to America. Will future: -unplanned action in the future "Don't worry, I'll do it for you!" Going to future: planned action in the future I'm going to become a teacher when I finish university. Conditional - when you're making an offer Would you like another drink? -when you're asking for something Could you help me please? - when you're talking about something you can't actually do I'd help you if I wasn't in school. Hope this helps. I could have explained it so much better a couple of years ago. I used to be pretty good at grammar before I moved to England. That's all we ever did in our English classes.
  17. Only as a child. I try to avoid fights.
  18. It rained pretty much all day so it was muddy and very cold.
  19. We went to the park, it was lovely. I wish the weather had been nice though.
  20. Petit Prince replied to R_Burns's topic in The Lounge
Look at your course and don't just base your decision on the location (like i did). It is obviously important to go to a city you like but it might spoil your experience if you don't like your course.
  21. I find it strange when British people ask me how to spell things in English and I get this ALL THE TIME. I mean come on, it's your first language! Oh and I'll try to explain you when you need to use which tense tomorrow. I'm a bit drunk right now so I probably wouldn''t make a lot of sense.
  22. I couldnt agree more! Public transport in the UK is a nightmare. My bus didnt turn up yesterday so I had to wait an hour for the next one to arrive and they didnt even aplogise.
  23. Football merchandising. I work for Liverpool FC.
  24. The route is quite dangerous anyway so I'm pretty confident that i'll get a few days off this winter!
