  So not helping her cause... :P Either it will be very obvious with big arrows pointing to it or flashing lights or something... perhaps a pop up? ...or it won't. And we'll all have to look for it. In which case we probably can't help you much right now. But hey... a scavenger hunt could be fun... :sneaky:

Please edit your original post linked to on the first page. Otherwise if you really want to leave your old list alone, post your new one but make sure that I know to change the link. The list that is linked to at the deadline is the list that will be counted. *looks at locations* :laugh4:

I am terrified of calling people up on the phone
No it's not, I love my phone. It's the awesomest phone ever. It takes great pictures, and lets me text friends, and use twitter, and post on Coldplaying when I'm stuck on the bus. I just hate talking on it. And it's worse when it's a cellphone, because everyone stares at you. :blank: :worried2: ...But yes, after a quick google, it appears that it (whatever it is) is called telephonophobia, and it's classified as a form of social anxiety. :book2: Which makes sense.

Ahh. My condolences. Though I do tip my hat to your parents, even if I don't exactly agree with them on this one. If more parents cared, the world would be a much better place. ;):( Well, there's always the part where you're polite, mature, well-spoken, and not emotional when you gently (after some time to let the issue rest) talk to them about why you think being on the forum would be a good thing, what it's good qualities are, and why you would be responsible there. Sometimes calmly laying out why it means so much to you for them without letting yourself get upset can make a big difference. Sometimes doing the dishes or some unexpected chore for a week ahead of time before you talk helps too if you don't think talking will be enough. Impressing them can have a much bigger impact than whining at them.

Can't believe a spammer like you would pass on a chance to make your mark there. :P Tis a pretty good board, if small compared to here. :nice:

The 2012 Motor Racing Thread (F1 & More)
^Yeah, my favorite track is Spa and they've certainly gone out of their way to screw around with that one in the last few years. Have you seen the terms, though? Basically any race needs massive government backing to even exist now. The money supposedly being demanded from Silverstone was sneaky, brutal, and would hamstring any event. And the demands over Montreal weren't much better. He's going to milk the sport dry if he's not careful. The history is a big part of what makes it so interesting and he's tossing it out like old bathwater. It kind of reminds me of a few years ago when he had a private camera network set up for pay-per-view only. They were the only ones that got decent angles and in-car shots. He was trying to force all coverage to go pay-per-view as I remember it, but it blew up in his face and he finally gave in and let the nice digital network be used for regular TV. :dozey:

The Meaning of Life
The worst is when they actually are cute and you're just too kind of squicked out by it all to give the person the satisfaction of talking to the guy.

The Meaning of Life
Heh... I had a teacher try to set me up with a guy at school because we both quote Hitchhiker's at him. :wtf:  It was awkward. :uhoh2:

Albums of the Year 2009 *Now Closed*
Ask Briggins- it depends on when he's available for a webcast to announce the countdown. I'm hoping for Saturday the 13th- it will give me time to get everything compiled and sorted before hand and more people should be available to watch and interact then. Thank-you. :D You know I could do a popularity list like that too... it wouldn't be any extra work. But the points system seems to work quite well for weighing both popularity and esteem. Indeed, you can. And for the record, you've just submitted list # 50! :shocked2::D :juggle:    :juggle: Two more lists and we'll tie last year. Eight more lists and we'll tie the record. :D

Coldplaying Christmas 2009: Secret Santa - Post a pic if you already received a card :D
^^Well, at least there's a big, obvious difference between figuring out how to make someone happy and just plain being creepy and obsessive. If someone with no good reason started calling or showed up on my doorstep at best I'd be like :uhoh: and would most likely call the cops. I like my privacy. If someone stared chatting about Doctor Who or Simon Pegg or something on here because they'd been staring at my avi too long I'd be excited. And therein lies the difference. :smug2:

Coldplaying Christmas 2009: Secret Santa - Post a pic if you already received a card :D
:laugh3::laugh3::laugh3: Ok, in a computer lab, trying not to burst out laughing at that. ...Which reminds me, I need to do a bit more stalking of my own before I make any final design decisions. Fingers crossed to get mine off next week. Hmm... better dig out my mom's stamping/cardmaking supplies. Everyone has such varied tastes on here, if it isn't obvious, it probably doesn't matter anyway- some people would love something extremely Coldplay themed and others stopped caring about that a long time ago. Me, I'd just be happy for something with a little bit of personality to it. (Though I can't get the image out of my head of the big, gaudy, marker scribbled, glitter drenched sort of letters we used to send to each other when we were like, 10.:wacko: If anyone sends one of those to anyone here, I will be thoroughly amused.)

What one song do you think epitomizes Coldplay?
Brothers and Sisters- the later b-side version. Especially in comparison to the earlier versions. The way the nature of the song changed sort of defined the whole Coldplay template.

Albums of the Year 2009 *Now Closed*
Thanks and added, but..erm...it does eventually need an order before the final deadline or one will be assigned to it. The countdown doesn't work otherwise... Sorry if you just meant that was an initial sketch list. :( It does make a difference, believe me. One first place vote can sometimes make the difference between 70th place and the top 30, a vote for a popular album will frequently change its final rank, and a vote for a mainly unknown album will get it a spot on the final list along with (hopefully) a bit of well-deserved publicity. Don't give up! ;)

A Rush Of Blood To The Head or The Bends?
Some day your kids can say that to you when they ask you which of them is your favorite and you can't say. :p

I am terrified of calling people up on the phone
Well I'd agree with your teacher to a point- it's massively over-diagnosed mainly by overworked teachers who want to control restless students with drugs. And very often ADD-like behavior is a combination of terrible diets and poor sleep patterns. But people who really have it genuinely think in a different way in general. They're almost always very artistic, which I think is a clue. And are often better off without medication as long as they aren't being told to sit still behind a desk. (I haven't used ritalin in years- I reacted terribly to it.) For instance, if you arrange things neatly on a shelf, I can't find anything. If you scatter it all over the floor, I can find things in an instant. If I go about something in a scattershot way, I can focus for hours and remember everything I'm doing. If I have to follow a list or do something in order I can't think at all. Thus brainstyle.

I am terrified of calling people up on the phone
:wtf: It's a brain style. We process info differently. The problem is in a linear society our brains work like a traffic jam. ...Even when I've been sleeping 8 or 9 hours a night for the last 2 months. There's strong evidence I've had it since I was a toddler or before. It's not a sleep issue.

I am terrified of calling people up on the phone
Heh... I do that all of the time. And then when I finally call, I'm so worked up I can't even think straight and the conversation gets extra awkward because I'm so out to lunch- which only makes me even worse. Heh... I'm so bad that my family can get really pissed off at me because I don't answer the phone either. Having caller id has helped- I won't let it go to the machine anymore just to screen calls. Answering also got easier after someone seemingly got a cell number very similar to mine. I get wrong number calls all the time and it's fun to answer just to hear all the different ways they react. Some of them are really hilarious. I think the worst thing for me is just that I have problems reading social ques in general- it's a side effect of ADD. When I have to pick up on what's happening socially without even seeing the person face to face it gets really difficult, which stresses me out. Plus I don't like bugging people/invading their space. I won't ring a person's doorbell until I've triple checked that I have the right house. The crazy part being that I worked full time in a call centre for nearly a year... you think that would have made it better, but no. I survived and then lost all of it when the job was over.
