  1. I think it was "Adopt a pet that looks like you" day. Ohhhhh... I'm bad as in cool.
  2. I remember I was showing my friend the tour booklet with all the little pictures of the guy's eyes, and when I turned to Will's she said, "Oh so THAT'S the hott one?" And I said "Well... not EXACTLY. That's Guy, but Will is still pretty $&@(! hott." She couldn't beleive it. Because those pictures are particularly good og him.
  3. It's a cruel joke, that's why! And just a random one:
  4. Well, I was a lurker back in that time. I didn't officially join until the album was released. But it was a good 18 months until the album was released and during that time it wasn't until about 3 months before that anyone got even the slightest whisper of anything from the band of media. There was the Talk leak and then the delayed release date which both caused a stir. And then about a month before hand Speed of Sound and the video were released and Coldplay were sneaking about doing secret gigs. So after June, it'll probably get kinda quiet until the DVD is released (Unless something interesting happens) and then it'll slow down immensly after that until the new album starts buzzing. (And OMG I'M GETTING EXCITED ALREADY)
  5. We all will steph. We all will be suffering. Maybe I can start another support thread for all the pathetic Coldplay vans in withdrawal.
  6. Well the second North American tour. Then they're off to Japan and Australia and then it's just IOW and then they'll sink into the shadowy abyss of recording for God knows how long. Why must everything have a dark side? On one hand we'll be anticipating the new album and know that the boys are enjoying their time away from tour, but on the other they won't be in the public eye anymore. But atleast we'll have the DVD to keep us occupied until then.
  7. You present some valid points. But The thing is that that Coldplay being as big as they are still sell a very good amount of singles that can generate quite a bit of profit. The band still has say in what formats the singles are released, as you indicated in your post. :) But if that was purely the reason for the radio-only release, you'd think they'd atleast make a cool little performance video or something instead of... what they did release. Another thing to consider is that they probably could've given X&Y much more a boost with a song like White Shadows, so you can't help but think that maybe the band didn't want X&Y to get anymore exposed than it already is and maybe give a bit of a warning to the label. :) So, we can determine that the band came to this descision about the song, the format and the video through about 381,209 different reasons. Yay discussion! :D
  8. I love it when they're all smiling. :) Makes me so happy.
  9. O_o;; Oh man do I feel stupid. >.< Sorry... I'll just... be leaving... now.
  10. THEN WHY IS THERE A RING? AHH! Mimi I'm so confuse-ed!
  11. They're probably laughing at us right now. "Haha... that FrostbitePanda... quite the philosphoic one. LMAO." "Hey Chris, look at Victaniac's signature!" Very funny guys.
  12. Actually, they've been married for about 6 years now. If you watch the Shiver video, which I think was filmed in late '99 - early '00 he's got a ring on. So, anytime now really.
  13. But the point is, is that they still haven't played it since the single's been released. They may play it a few more times before the tour ends, but certainly not enough for what is a single.
  14. Aw, Vic. I'm sorry if I came off a bit harsh. *Hugs* But they aren't really hurting themselves. They're so big that it doesn't really hurt them, but they're excercising their power as a band to relase whatever they please. There's nothing that says that a band can't release a bad song as a single, so it does nothing when it comes to the EMI/Coldplay relationship. It's simply the fact that EMI will get pennies for this single, when they were probably expecting more waves of money from a single like White Shadows. It's just a subtle way of telling EMI to back off. Did you notice how much promotion that the guys were doing for Talk after Fix You flopped (Well, not REALLY, but it didn't do as well as the lable had hoped)? They don't book those talk shows, EMI does and that probably peeved them off a bit. Remember that they did that back in Parachutes days with Yellow. They pushed them so much in America the band was ready to throw in the towel with all the pressure. That's how the business works I understand, but I think Coldplay did a good thing. Maybe EMI will back off a bit. Plus, there is the combined idea that they just didn't want anymore exposure. That much is evident in Chris' Brit Awards speech. But who knows... I don't work with the band so no one can ever get the right answer (And I don't think they'll ever actually come out and say it) so it's all theorizing. But it's not a bad thing vic. At least that way they aren't getting caught up in the industry and becoming greedy. :)
  15. I am so sick of people complaining about the length of the set. I agree with Vic. Don't bash their set when it's completly reasonable fora band their age. I think Coldplay's enormous popularity skews the fact that they are still are a relatively young band that still has a way to go to establish themselves with rock kings like U2, Rolling Stones, ect. And if you're complaining about the set length/price ratio, it's pretty damn good considering you're seeing one of the biggest bands in the world with amazingly complex effects and in a huge space like an arena. That one show probably costs upwards of $700,000. Just be thankful that they're not charging over a hundred dollars for floor seats.
  16. He has a Rickenbacker 12-String that he used to se in In My Place too. And is the Jazzmaster and Vintage Jaguar that he uses Fenders as well? I'm a bit ignorant when it comes to this stuff, but I'm interested in learning.
  17. LMAOROFL. He only wears the same jacket with holes in the armpits every day. Not to mention he often doesn't match his blacks. And his shoes are falling apart and dirty. Oh... and he's often in the desperate need of a shave/hair cut. How is that badly dressed? But I love him. His badly dressed-ness just means he's clueless. It's not as if he's actually TRYING to be fashionable and fails. He just doesn't care. :D
  18. Oh man... Politik I'd have to say. Anything pretaining to that song is amazing. Love Low though. :)
  19. Aww Nettie... The Chris Martin solo album thing wasn't very funny. It just gave me emotional scarring.
  20. DAMN. From the bakc it almost looks like he's... well... ripped. O-o
  21. "Mum! Look at me! I'm GANGSTA."
  22. My friend always says that. And he can get away with it because he has some. :D He and Will should make a club.
