  1. Love my shirt, wore it to the Boston Concert. August donation made, hope you collected a lot over the summer !
  2. Ok, not to be a whinger, but my CCC VLV shirt is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better quality than the official Coldplay Tee I bought at the Concert this time around. ( and paid 35 dollars for!) Kudos to CCC and Cafe Press. I <3 my CCC shirt

Awww, can you feel the love? I absolutely love it when someone discovers their Coldplay love and can't wait to share it. Cheers to you Malkam. Come back and post some more. You'll figure it out eventually.
  4. I like the unofficial one by Anton Corbjin but then I'm also a Depeche Mode fan. I think the video milesahead89 is referencing in his post is dead on. You can see another example of what they are talking about from this screen grab. Depeche Mode have used the random roaming king in robes thing in several of their videos. or play the whole video and see it here starting at about 1.36 >>> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0hdVJjbQ30&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0hdVJjbQ30&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
  5. In this case it's a visual thing. Chris walking around in the King's robe with a crown is a nod to a similar visual used in several Depeche mode videos from back in the day. You can see one example here starting at about 1.36 >>> or play the whole video <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0hdVJjbQ30&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0hdVJjbQ30&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
  6. I was looking at those dates and seriously thinking that it might work better to try to get down to Philly or DC on a weekend rather than try and cram in a Wednesday night concert in Boston where I have to drag my ass to work the next day. *sigh* This must mean I truly am addicted.

  8. OMG, they're coming back to Boston! I am going to try my damnest to get better tickets this time!

  11. oooo, very nice one Angie! I adore that song. It's been described as "slithery" by several reviewers and that word fits perfectly Jonny's gituar work and Chris's lower octave singing on Yes. *sigh* I'm still coming down from seeing them a week ago.
  12. She's a celib, they do everything in public. My 8 yearold is a Miley and Coldplay fan. She says Jonny is her favorite so you Jonny lovers better watch out, lol
  13. Maybe they're doing it for QB Tom Brady? (joking people, joking, although he is a huge CP fan)
  14. Glad you liked it Chavi. I had originally watched it just because "Yes" happens to be one of my favorite songs off VLVODAAHF. Monday night in Boston they were in rare form, jamming away on that and I really wanted to see and hear it again.
  15. Collee replied to amsterdam's topic in Coldplay
Love the mini movie Angie. Agreed, I think we'd all hit on Jonny instead...at least the pervs that post obsessively in this thread, lol.
  16. Couldn't have said it better myself. For all the Will luvers, you should watch this fan shot video of "Yes" from the Boston gig. Really good quality, I'd watch if full screen for best affect. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FrIIJI2BOc About 1/4 of the way through they do a huge video projection and you can see Will singing and I go nuts when he's on the maracas and the drums at the same time.
  17. Thanks for all the reviews still getting posted. I keep thinking back to what an awesome night that was, even up in the cheap seats, lol.
  18. I just got to see the boys in concert in Boston and contrary to what some of the local reviewers said about this song, it was awesome live. Here's a great fan shot video of it. I'd watch it full screen so you can get the best affect from the big screen the band used. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FrIIJI2BOc They also played Chinese Sleep Chant later in the show when they stepped out on their mini stage. That song is starting to grow on me. It seems to me that they play it because they, the band, really like it. That got me to pay a bit more attention to it and I appreciate it more now after seeing them play it in concert. When VLV first came out I was pulled to so many of the songs. I have to say Yes emerged as my favorite and has stayed there. It's such a damn sexy song.
  19. was thinking that same thing. After hearing the massive sing along at the Boston Garden, I can't imagine that at the stadium level. Was also thinking, Damn, it could be a mite chilly being there the end of October, brrrrrrrrrrrrr.
  20. You said what was on my mind from the start guyy, thanks! Having just seen them in Boston and watching the energy, heart and soul that goes into a Coldplay live performance I'm inclined to think they'd physically crash and burn if they lengthened the show by much. Fans bitch when the tour hits the road and the band doesn't hit their state, country, continent, what ever. This looks to be a long tour, lots of dates with more dates to come no doubt. I'm glad they are hitting some places they skipped on the Twisted Logic tour. More fans will get their chance to see them play live. Leave off the whinging and just savor the show.
  21. This gig was awesome. I've seen them just twice before, in 2005 and 2006, and this time the boys seems to be enjoying themselves immensely! The crowd singing and cheering was deafening. I don't know how the boys could hear themselves or each other. I know Master Craig said the balcony crowd wasn't as into it but they sure were in my section. Everyone stood from the first song on and every one was singing along and cheering LOUD. We got there early and I was really hoping that we'd see Roadie 42 or some other staffer because I'd read about the ticket upgrades. So I was watching and damn if I didn't see someone with tags on come up TWICE to our section (Balcony 301) and upgrade two groups of fans. One was a group of 4 twenty somthing girls, I watched the floor and saw them come out and get an escort right down to the floor, SECOND ROW FROM THE FRONT, right nect to Jonny's catwalk. The second time a different staffer came up and picked a pair of fans from behind us and got them floor seats too, center stage, row 2. Imagine being that lucky eh?? I thought it was the coolest thing, the band upgrading early arriving fans up in the cheap seats. Like I said, my seats were way up in the nose bleeds. We were probablly 10 rows shy of the roof. but we were about 1/3 way back from the stage on Guy's side so the line of sight was great. The lighting and video was technically brilliant. The biggest video globe in the center of the arena was about eye level for me so we got the full benifit of that. If you've read any of this thread or the articles Ian reprinted you'll know there were a lot of celbs there, including Gwyn and her mom. That had the crowd cheering like crazy when they seated them in the loge , near the right side catwalk, just minutes before the boys came on. Jerry Seinfeld and his wife were there and when Chris talked to the crowd after the first song he said to us"What else would you be doing on Boston on a Monday night, watching Seinfeld reruns?" That got a big laugh. The banter between songs was a combination of your typical Chris randomness, some fun comments about all the irish in Boston, and the use of the "Oh F*ck!" a lot. At one point after he'd said f*ck about 3 times in a row he pleaded, "Please, please don't put that on the internet!" I was expecting a more stripped down version of Yellow but the whole band came at it full force and I was surprised how much fun it was to hear that old nugget yet again. I also had no idea the butterfly confetti would be all glowing under black light. It was cool to watch everyone frolic in down on the floor. Was hoping for a second encore but wasn't surprised when they didn't come back out. The whole band looked physically wiped. They have been pushing hard since Toronto and I imagine they were really glad to have their last US gig prior to leaveing Japan neatly wrapped up.
  22. Since Yes is my fav from the new album I really hope it makes it onto tonight's set list in Boston.
