I've known about Home for ages. Good song, not sold on the vid though. The new single will be Alone. I'm glad, it's one of my favs off the album.

I'm actually predicting a lot of Australian artists will get in the top 10 this time, they don't usually. I have bets on Little Red, Washington and Birds Of Tokyo all making it.

The single is City With No Children. Shame given it's one of my least favourites off the record. I highly doubt the album will be of new original studio material. Probably a live album or something.

Imo, Employment is one of my favourite albums EVER. YTAM was very, very dissapointing. And the 3rd one was utter rubbish. I've almost lost all respect for this band which is a shame given Employment was SO GOOOOD! :cry:

I feel the same. I really don't know what to expect, so I'm not getting my hopes up for anything.

Foals in the top 10? The National in the top 2? Famous Old Painter approves! Nice to hear High Violet was almost gonna tie for #1, it deserves the spot. All in all, a surprising list! There were a lot of albums I was quite surprised didn't chart higher, and a few which charted a lot higher than expected.

It's been totally hammered in the reviews, and most people I've spoken to haven't had many kind things to say about this album at all. Which makes me feel bad I guess because I view this is a massive improvement over their debut.

I don't really like either to be honest, though I voted for the black and white one as that's the one I have and knew about long before I saw the spirals one.

Alligator and High Violet are two of my favourite albums of all time. Can't describe em. Never got into Boxer for some reason.

I'm glad we think alike! I said the same thing on another forum and got completely flamed by Placebo fans. It's not like I'm a Placebo hater either, I had to hear about LAR from somewhere. It's just that if I were given the choice between listening to Trigger Happy Hands or So Sad for instance, I'd easily know which one I'd pick. I never noticed the 20 Years connection before, but you're totally right with that one. That must be why I like the video so much. Amazing stuff. Oh, and LAR was in my top 10 albums for 2010 as well.

Really digging the album, despite the stupid title/artwork combo. I actually find it a lot better than a lot of the post-Hewitt era Placebo.

From what I've gathered from the countdowns over past years is that the albums are ranked by popularity of the bands at the time and not so much about musical quality. Not having a dig at the high-charting albums from the past years, far from it, but the highest charting in the lists are usually the albums that most people have listened to. Even though Plastic Beach isn't the best Gorillaz album, I predict it'll chart highly just because of how popular the band are at the moment and how many people have listened to it. I use the same reasoning for predicting The Suburbs will be #1. Good album, I wouldn't say it's the best album I've heard this year or the best of Arcade Fire's career but that doesn't matter, it's the most popular album on the board this year.

It was a toss-up between New Order and Doves.
