Lost! 3 Single? 3tracks
Instrumental version, interesting. I hope the actual release has some form of new b-side though!

Someone please explain this to me?
This whole kufuffle over Chris and Simon is bizzare, dont you know that Chris and Simon Pegg are the two of the least serious men in Britian? It's just thier type of humour, NOTHING serious I can garuntee.

The Oasis Thread
I love Noel Gallagher, partly cuz I hate him so much. It's like a movie that is so goddamn awful it's brilliant. As for Oasis, good music. I wanna hear the new stuff.

Bloc Party
Yeah, but you mentioned Flux, and AWITC was re-released with that track on it. They put it between I Still Remember and Sunday, possibly the WORST spot on the album to place a song of that nature.

Editors vs Interpol
Editors x a million I mean I like Interpol but the last album was dull. Editors on the other hand have blown me away with every song and b-side they've ever released (apart from Open Up). I even developed an unhealthy Editors CD and vinyl collecting hobby, I've kinda kicked that now though.

The Year of Changes in Direction.
Bloc Party are another good example, they've gone electro.

Viva La Vida music videos! (Videos in first post)
The second one is pretty funny but I just see it as a nice treat for the fans, not as an official video. I hope that's not the one they send to TVs because as great as the video is, it's still a pretty serious song and I wouldn't want people to get the wrong impression of the band and go through another Violet Hill. As the for the first one, I find it pretty irritating mainly because it should be an amazing clip, but it isn't. The idea behind it was great but the way it was finally executed is poor. Lighting, editing, camera angles, most people might not notice it but it really lets the clip down as to something quite mediocre.

Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground NOT Strawberry Swing!
Yeah, I love it too. The horn section is particularly great.

No COLDPLAY In China?!
If they are, it would be incredibally stupid! :stunned:

Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground NOT Strawberry Swing!
I just read that part you quoted. I meant to say I'm not saying it's not the same thing, I'm just saying that that the possibility shouldn't be totally ruled out. You seem to be forgetting Coldplay tend to do these things :laugh3:
-
Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground NOT Strawberry Swing!
Umm... yes, they would. The World Turned Upside Down - "X&Y, the land, sea, rivers, trees, the stars, the sky" Talk - "You can climb a ladder up to the sun" So why not Strawberry Swing - "Cold cold water, bring me round, now my feet wont touch the ground"

Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground NOT Strawberry Swing!
You obviously wern't around when we first heard the song title, this was AFTER the tracklisting was announced.

Bloc Party
Bloc Party vocalist Kele Okereke was subjected to a racist attack at the weekend, by former Sex Pistols screamer John 'Johnny Rotten' Lydon and members of the one-time punk hero's entourage. Okereke was attacked at the Summercase Festival in Barcelona on Saturday night; he was left shaken and with bruising to his face, cuts on his face and body, and a burst lip. The attack, according to reports, was unprovoked. A witness commented that Lydon and company were at the festival "acting like a gang of racist thugs". Trouble flared when Okereke asked Lydon backstage at the festival if he'd ever consider reforming Public Image Ltd, as the Bloc Party singer is a big fan of the seminal post-punk outfit fronted by Lydon. The former I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here contestant grew aggressive, suggesting that Okereke had a "black attitude", and that was a problem in some way. The story goes that then Okereke was punched and kicked by Lydon's crew, albeit not Lydon himself, while Ricky Wilson of Kaiser Chiefs and Yannis Philippakis of Foals attempted to fend off the attackers. Security broke up the fight and Spanish police were duly informed. Okereke made a statement to UK police once home. Over 50 people witnessed the Barcelona attack - alongside members of Foals and Kaiser Chiefs were Mystery Jets, Neon Neon and Har Mar Superstar, all of whom saw what unfolded. Of the attack, Okereke has stated: "It's not an issue of the physical assault, even though it was an unprovoked attack. It is the fact that race was brought into the matter so readily. Someone as respected and as intelligent as Lydon should know better than to bring race into the equation, or socialise with and encourage those who hold such narrow-minded attitudes. I am disappointed that someone I held with such high regard turns out to be such a bigot."

The 2008 Mercury Prize
Sorreeeeeeeeeee. :\ Adele - '19' British Sea Power - 'Do You Like Rock Music?' Burial - 'Untrue' Elbow - 'The Seldom Seen Kid' Estelle - 'Shine' The Last Shadow Puppets - 'The Age Of The Understatement' Laura Marling - 'Alas I Cannot Swim' Neon Neon - 'Stainless Style' Portico Quartet - 'Knee-Deep In The North Sea' Robert Plant And Alison Krauss – 'Raising Sand' Radiohead - 'In Rainbows' Rachel Unthank And The Winterset – 'The Bairns' http://www.nme.com/news/radiohead/38334 "Some of this year's biggest selling British albums were notable by their absence, with no place for either Duffy or Coldplay on the shortlist, as the panel gave nods to the likes of Laura Marling, Neon Neon and British Sea Power. " No Coldplay (or any other great British albums released this year). Slim pickings it seems for me, I guess my vote would be for Radiohead then. Well, I know 1 award ceremony I wont bother with this year.

Ask the Oracle on Coldplay.com (Now in session!)
I entered a bunch of paradoxes then asked whether it's even sure of it's own existance.

Viva La vida to be released as CD-Single + Bonus Track
It's very rare for a commercial CD single to only contain the radio edit and album version, isn't there a chart rule saying there must be at least 1 different track? Not that they need the VLV CD single to chart now anyway. And with the Lovers In Japan thing, isn't Lost! supposed to be a single? And Lost? was a b-side to Violet Hill so... The other thing with the LIJ acoustic is that it was iTunes pre-order only, so unless theres some other store which stocks it atm it'll be impossible for fans to get the track legitimately (EMI still hope people buy music nowadays). Though I would MUCH prefer a new track, LIJ acoustic wouldn't surprise me. But yeah, here's hoping Coldplay dish out a new or leftover track for us!

Viva La vida to be released as CD-Single + Bonus Track
That'd just be the radio promo though, Amazon don't stock promos. I recon there's new music to be had in future, at least I hope there is! The pessimist in me however thinks it might be just Lovers In Japan (acoustic) or something, but that still wouldn't be bad.

Favorite parts of each VLV song
LiT - The "wooooah" bit, the only singing CoL - The solo, if you can call it that. And the la la la laa laay bit Lost! - The end when the "wooooah" comes in with the guitar, and the solo organs at the end 42 - Part 2! All of it LiJ - It's hard to know RoL - The second instrumental bit Yes - When Chris's voice changes from low to high in the third verse CSC - When Chris makes those whale noises VLV - The buildup to the final chorus. VH - The "If you love me won't you let me know bit" followed by the duh, duh, duh, duhs SS - When Chris's voice and the organ come in DAAHF - The first verse with the piano Escapist - The violin bit
-
Since there are already a million COL theads anyway...
Whenever the la la la bit comes on I just have to sing it, wherever I am. People stare at me as if I'm strange.
