  1. I remember in the NME article in the Bakery they noted one of the new songs was called "Death Will Never Conquer" but I just assumed they'd since changed it to Death and All His Friends. Maybe not... Is this a cover? Yes or no?
  2. Serious? I really wanna hear Rainy Day now. The 1st part of DAAHF is amazing but the second part is really weak in my opinion.
  3. +1 Really, if you look into it enough you'll find that EVERY SONG IN THE HISTORY OF EXISTANCE would sound very similar to another song before it. You cant deny that, it's just how art is made.
  4. Front row - You were in a position where you just sold 10,000,000 records Chris (Typical Chris jokes) - No just 10! :laugh3: Front row (ignoring) - No, 10,000,000 copies of X&Y. Tosser
  5. Cemeteries of London - 20 (+1) Lost! - 7 (-1) 42 - 16 Lovers in Japan - 7 Yes - 14 Viva la Vida - 14 Strawberry Swing - 23 Death and All His Friends - 24
  6. I remember hearing Chris say that 'Viva la Vida' (song) was one of the best things they've ever done. Perhaps it's that.
  7. Funny thing is it's called Cemeteries of LONDON, but it doesn't really sound that british at all!
  8. Violet Hill +1 Lost! -1 Cemeteries of London - 19 Lost! - 8 42 - 15 Lovers in Japan - 11 Yes - 19 Viva la Vida - 13 Violet Hill - 7 Strawberry Swing - 17 Death and All His Friends - 16
  9. You should've made it multiple choice (vote for more than 1). I voted Cemeteries but it could've been Strawberry Swing or Violet Hill just as easy.
  10. Lovers will be 3rd I'm betting. They'd have filmed the video early so they dont have to squeeze in time whilst touring etc... It's not uncommon. I'm scared too, I've seen a lot of Antons work and I dont like any of it, I think he's a bad director. But let's wait and see...
  11. The album version has the choir at the end, and the other version was ripped off Grey Anatomy about a month ago.
  12. Cemeteries Of London 19 Lost! 9 42 17 Lovers In Japan 9 Yes 16 Chinese Sleep Chant 3 Viva La Vida 12 Violet Hill 7 Strawberry Swing 17 Death And All His Friends 16 The Escapist 3 -The Escapist +Chinese Sleep Chant
  13. That's exactly what I was thinking. I was thinking that the LIJ video should be kinda like The Killers Read My Mind vid or Gerling's Turning The Screws or something along those lines. Edit - The Lovers In Japan video is being directed by Mat Whitecross wasn't it? So this cant be the vid for LIJ.
  14. Politik works best as on opener, by Square One is a better song overall.
  15. 2030 - EMI release Coldplay's 10th best of, with another scheduled for spring.
  16. Parchutes - Spies A Rush Of Blood To The Head - Hard choice, but I'll choose GPASUYF as that's the one I listen to the most X&Y - Again hard choice, but I think I'll choose White Shadows for the same reason VLVODAAHF - Cemeteries of London at the moment
  17. As far as I know it's a 5 album deal. I might be wrong though...
  18. I was reading a Led Zeppelin biography today when I thought of something. You know the next album, which is meant to feature much of the material that didn't make it to Viva la Vida and not releasing them as b-sides to singles for some reason (as oppossed to writing new material). Of course this is partly because they want us to hear the songs properly and not just as b-sides. But it could also be a way to escape EMI's clutches as fast as possible. They have a 5 album deal right? So if they just release the leftovers for thier 5th album then they're free to do whatever (unless they land themselves with another bad company, though I'm hoping they go indie)
  19. The Escapist (-) Chinese Sleep Chant (+) Cemeteries Of London 19 Lost! 8 42 17 Lovers In Japan 10 Yes 13 Chinese Sleep Chant 6 Viva La Vida 12 Violet Hill 9 Strawberry Swing 17 Death And All His Friends 16 The Escapist 2
  20. Yeah I totally get you, during the intro my ears feel like they're gonna burst. It's only when drums and vocals come in where it starts sounding alright.
  21. Is it? I've listened to it several times and I dont hear any electronics at all (or maybe I'm deaf, the previews did say this was an electronic song ) There'll definately be the standard line-up, Jonny on guitar, Chris on piano/vocals, Will on Drums and Guy on Bass. As for handclaps - audience participation? I think Viva la Vida would be the hardest to replicate live, and we've seen that anyway.
  22. Was just thinking. I know Coldplay's intention was to create a much shorter record than the overlong X&Y but somehow I dont think they went the right way about it. The songs finish just as I get into them and I always feel there should be an extra chorus or verse or something. What I would've prefered was 9 or 10 normal length songs (which was the original idea) as opposed to 13 short ones.
  23. Just my personal opinion, but I think the whole opus/masterpiece thing is exaggerated. I just hear it as 3 song ideas glued together as they were too weak to be developed into songs of thier own, so nothing overly special. Not to say I dont like the song, but given all the hype I was a little letdown. And I dont think this song would've worked as a single, no matter what the previews said.
  24. Escapist til it's gone + Chinese Sleep Chant Cemeteries of London 17 Lost! 6 42 18 Lovers in Japan 9 Reign of Love 3 Yes 14 Chinese Sleep Chant 9 Viva la Vida 10 Violet Hill 10 Strawberry Swing 16 Death and All His Friends 14 The Escapist 3
  25. Chris can be so funny, if not slightly disturbing sometimes! He could do standup.
