NEW STARS ON COLDPLAY.COM
This has probably already been discussed a million times but I'm far too lazy to check: Does the arrow pointing to the date (I think it's an arrow anyway!) indicate that 5th September is going to be a significant date this year (even though Prospekt said that Album 4 should hopefully be ready in 3/4 weeks time)...

Official Premiership/Championship/English football leagues thread 2007-08 Season
The English Premier League is considering playing some matches overseas, BBC Sport has learned. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/7232390.stm What a joke. Not long before FIFA allow 2 foreign players in national teams.

Do you know any celebrity that loves coldplay??
I heard that Natalie Portman is a fan. Thirteen Senses (not massive celebrities but they have had a couple of albums in the shops!) also said they are fans.

Careful Where You Stand Cover (w/ drums!)
What an amazing cover! You have a lovely voice and really made this song your own. A lot of covers make me cringe and feel uncomfortable but that was seriously beautiful. Love the drums too :)

AROBTTH & The Scientist feature in Q's 50 Years of Great British Music
A Rush Of Blood To The Head has been selected as one of Q Magazine's Albums of the 00s: The Scientist was also recognised as one of the Tracks of the 00s. I couldn't scan it, but it says: "It was written on an out-of-tune piano, but The Scientist transcended those beginnings to become a very English stadium anthem, one whose strength lay in its middle-class reserve. The jumping-off point for a wave of "sensitive" British indie types, from Keane to Snow Patrol. Most British Moment: Chris Martin's vocal delivery; emotion gets the better of the Head Boy persona".

Heath Ledger RIP - actor found dead in Manhattan residence
Just an after thought, maybe 1 of the mods should put 'RIP' in the subject title (I thought I had but obviously didn't!) - just incase people click on it thinking the thread's about's his new film or stuff he's done in the past etc.

Heath Ledger RIP - actor found dead in Manhattan residence
Hollywood actor Heath Ledger has been found dead at a downtown Manhattan residence, a New York Police Department spokesman has said. He was found unconscious at the apartment and pronounced dead," a police spokeswoman said. Police are investigating whether the Australian actor, who earned an Oscar nomination for 2005 film Brokeback Mountain, died of a drug overdose. The 28-year-old was found dead in the SoHo flat at around 1530 (2030 GMT). US television reported that his body had been found surrounded by pills and police said they did not suspect foul play. "We are investigating the possibility of an overdose," police spokesman Paul Browne said. Police said he had been due to have a massage at the flat. The housekeeper went to tell him the masseuse had arrived and found him dead on Tuesday afternoon. In September the Perth-born actor reportedly split from his girlfriend Michelle Williams, with whom he has a two-year-old daughter, Matilda. He plays the Joker in the soon-to-be-released Batman film, The Dark Knight. He also starred in A Knight's Tale and The Patriot, and played a suicidal son in Monster's Ball. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7203797.stm http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/Movies/01/22/heath.ledger.dead/index.html

I do remember when I was a newbie on here...
I joined around the time that I was feeling very excited about going to my first Coldplay gig at the MEN Arena on 19th December 2005. I remember after that gig someone had a bootleg of the show and wouldn't share it and there was a 20-something page long thread full of posts by people begging for this person to share. Me and someone else eventually bought copies off ebay and shared it around.

Brian Eno- Good Or Bad?
Just listened to the intro for the Mexico City 2003 gig, I didn't know that Coldplay played "An Ending (Ascent)" by Eno before their gigs back in 2003 (the track that Space Cadet posted earlier on). Going slightly off topic, but what else was played before they came on back then?

The official **KEANE** thread
There isn't a guitar in Is It Any Wonder, that sound comes from hooking the CP70 piano up to guitar effects pods which Tim controls with foot pedals. Cool hey. Tom plays guitar in their live sets for acoustic versions of The Frog Prince, Your Eyes Open and Broken Toy. There's good info here on how the technology, effects and equipment here: http://www.keaneshaped.co.uk/faq/ http://bb01.sov.uk.vvhp.net/keane/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=44312
