  1. Chris' voice wasn't at it's best but I reckon he might just be unfamiliar with the song. The "woooaahhhhhhhh"s at the end were so cute though, how sweet is it to see them all harmonising!
  2. I'll be at this with my dad :D We went to MEN last time and it was tempting to go there again because of the amazing atmosphere, but being a Yorkshire Lass I decided to stick with the closest gig. :)
  3. eeeeeeeeee excitement!
  4. After seeing the VH video...I'm in love with Chris again :D Black and white Chris especially...mmm.
  5. Thanks for that highly individual viewpoint, from the bottom of my heart :P

Hello, just to say that you are wrong, Radiohead bore me rigid. That's all. Bye!
  7. Scratch that, I've found it, I love it.
  8. Did anyone manage to rip this before EMI snaffled it?
  9. Hahah me too, this is one of those times where a choice of name is REALLY unfortunate!
  10. No, I'm on IE & Windows, nothing's happening for me either. I don't even necessarily want tickets, I just want to play!!
  11. It's not even letting me sign up! What's going ON?!
  12. Moral of this story is ALWAYS LISTEN TO US!!!
  13. I was just about to say, Ricardo, that I heard drums and guitar.
  14. I dunno, Will's a bit of a jack of all trades, isn't he? I would love it if he got to do something other than drum this album. Although having said that I think he's done some harmonica-ing too.
  15. About 6, because I'm downstairs with my Mum and she has the TV on so I've had to listen through headphones. Would be A LOT more otherwise.
  16. Er...it's not about the French Revolution. It just uses a poem art FROM the French Revolution as the artwork to allude to the Romantic movement, which spoke out AGAINST the revolution. Do some research.
  17. The actual painting itself is Romantic, which was a movement in the 1800s which was "a revolt against aristocratic social and political norms" (thankyou Wikipedia). This is really backed up by "Viva la Vida", from a Frida Kahlo painting. Kahlo was a Surrealist, and that movement again sought to differ from the norms, break out of the restraints of society and governing bodies and basically have more personal freedom of thinking and speech. Probably the above is not posted in the best place, but I'm doing an English Degree and was sat in class today learning about how Kahlo influenced Surrealist poets and instead of listening began to think that Coldplay are being clever buggers here, writing more freely and subverting norms and speaking out against war and the government (eg. Violet Hill's "Carnival of Idiots") and then backing it up with relevant artwork. /my two pence.
  18. Ohhh so this is Lost? Not Lost! Joys of punctuation!
  19. I can't wait until I can listen to this!
  20. Have patience. If there's one thing I know about Coldplay, it's that we always end up hearing the offcasts one way or another. B-Sides, EP, free downloads...there's a mass of ways these could make it into general circulation which may be much better for those songs in the long run than if they were on Viva la Vida (album...ahh that's going to get confusing) drowning out other potentially great songs which we might not pay half as much attention to otherwise. Me, for example, completely ignored the latter half of X&Y for some time without realising it, because at the start you had Talk and Fix You and White Shadows. I was missing the amazing Swallowed in the Sea, A Message etc because I was too overwhelmed. Maybe exclusion of purported 'better' songs is for the best? Mr. Martin know what they're doing! Sorry for the ramble, wasn't necessarily directed at you just a musing on why we might have been temporarily deprived of Glass of Water etc.
  21. I thought it said will until I read the lyrics thread, and then the next time I listened it was so clearly won't it made it alllll so much clearer. I really love Chris' lyrics this time around, blinkin' genius that man is.
  22. May prevent further misunderstandings. Thanks for the info anyway, it is interesting that another band has used the art before :D
  23. My comments weren't meant to sound mean, just that it's not really plagarism...probs just a different choice of words would have done it :D
  24. Isn't it won't call my name? Then it would make more sense for me. St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, saying "Sorry, Chris/Random King person, your name ain't down, you're not coming in!". A probable reference to all the bad things he's done as King meaning he doesn't get into heaven, and he now realises that?
