i hate to admit it, but that's kinda how i feel about AROBTTH - to a degree. i think it's pretty apparent that while the album may generally sound pretty nice, it's by no means groundbreaking or awe-inspiring or anything. the thing is, i don't necessarily think there's anything wrong with that. if every artist i listened to was an innovative revolutionary, then i'd have a pretty small cd collection. i do think the guy has a point with The Scientist and A Whisper, but Daylight and Amsterdam are my two favorite tracks on the album. and i agree with the general idea. the moment i first heard that record, i immediately thought to myself that it didn't sound like it was finished. like they either didn't know how to finish it or just gave up. it has none of the flow or consistancy of Parachutes (and if you don't think it's possible to make an album that flows well with as many different moods and styles as Coldplay attempt on AROBTTH, listen to Stevie Wonder's "Songs in the Key of Life" or Wilco's "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot")

i've actually seen all three of those ep's in record stores, so they aren't all that rare, at least compared to the safety ep. i guess the autographs might bump it up a little, but i doubt you're going to get that much money for any of them. ebay's always a good place to kind of test the waters, of course.

actually, i don't think there's been a single song discussed in this thread that's technically a "b-side." but whatever.
