well, just be happy you don't have to bundle up in 4 layers of clothing every time you go outside. :P

Um....
Aside from MAJOR military operations (Iraq and Afghanistan), Bush has less influence over American military and other foreign presence than you might think. He starts wars pre-emptively (although your implication that Iraq has something to do with a personal vendetta shows a less than thorough grasp of the subject, to say the least), but other than that, American military presence and monetary aid around the world has been handled just as it has been under every other president in recent memory. Second, your statement that the economy can't be worse, if it refers to the American economy (which is the only economy Bush can be expected to control in any way), is flat out wrong. The economy is actually in the midst of a strong recovery, and again, this is something that just goes through natural phases, and isn't something that Bush did with his ridiculous tax cuts or anything. Finally, while it may be true that our president does affect people worldwide, I think you fail to realize that there is more to being a president than foreign policy. To suggest that our elections affect people more outside of the US than inside is just as arrogant as, say, starting a war in Iraq on the premise that Saddam Hussein is a threat to America, and we all know how dumb that was. I'm also slightly confused by your statement that if Bush hadn't won the elections, there would be no war, but we'd still "take Chavez out of Venezuela." I have more to say that would probably clarify my position more, but I'm tired of typing about this. :P

The Air Thread
WOO! i got the new album, listening right now. :D what do they sound like? uuuuuurgh i hate answering that question. smooth make-out music, kinda. if i had to put it in a genre: pseudo-electronic-soul? i've got nothing here.

r u a cd collector or a cd burner?
artists receive roughly $3 for every unit sold, depending on their contract. so believe it or not, if an artists sells a million copies of something, they really do make a lot of money for it. also, believe it or not, major record labels lose money on 85% of their releases. (not that i'm crying any tears for them, because the other 15%, your coldplays and outkasts and radioheads and U2's, make up for it)

Straight Males

I am watching the space above!
Maybe it's like Bush's Roadmap for Israel and Palestine: nothing more than a catchy phrase that can be shouted to give the illusion of progress. Oh wait, there was a stupid plan behind that phrase, now that I think about it.

System of a Down is possibly the only band in the world whose physical appearance actually starts detracting from my enjoyment of the music.

Um....
My opinion is that while oil was probably a factor, it was certainly by no means one of the primary reasons for going into Iraq. I tend to lean more towards Richard's theory (and I'd add the name "Wolfowitz" to that list, too). It was certainly convenient for Halliburton, though, wasn't it?

Um....
well, for what it's worth, i'm also planning on donating some of my time to the eventual nominee's campaign (i say time because i don't really have money to give them). i haven't really been particularly impressed with any of them, but i'd still take any of them over bush. and when i say "bush" i mean "the bush administration," because i don't think he's a bad guy either, i just think he and his administration have done one wrong thing after another ever since they took office.

Um....
That seems to be the overall consensus on the Mars expedition.

Believe in miracles? i believe in miracle-like events that are caused by some sort of higher power that may or may not be a "god." 5. What is your ambition in life: to be content with myself and my position in the world 4. Who do you admire: Brian Wilson is the only one that springs to mind but that's the kind of mood i've been in lately 5. What is the best lesson you’ve learned: be yourself, and don't lie, because your lies will always explode in your face in the most spectacular manner possible

CBS and anti-bush ad
friggin treehuggers so ridiculous they've got 'animals' in their name. where the heck do you get 'treehuggers' from  <<<< is a strong advocate for protecting the environment, nonetheless I was going to ignore that comment, but thanks for correcting it anyway. I'll freely admit that I'm what some people (I like to think of them as "ignorant" :P ) would call a tree-hugger, but PETA has some people who are a little radical for me. Anyway, about CBS, frankly I wasn't surprised at all when I got the email about that, and I believe Richard is right in stating that the "White House ad" is a "Say no to drugs" thing. CBS probably wouldn't air a "Don't vote for Howard Dean or John Kerry or whatever!" ad either. It is a shame though, because it was a very well-done ad, done completely by an amateur, as you all may or may not know.

Um....
a couple of points: 1. Anarchy is the stupidest idea ever. 2. If you're not an American, frankly, you probably don't know enough to decide who would be a better president, unless you spend an extensive amount of time educating yourself on something that will never affect you, but that's unlikely since most Americans don't know enough about the candidates either (on the other side of that coin, of course, I would never declare who the best candidate for Venezuela's presidency or Great Britain's prime minister would be). 3. Bush is, in my opinion, possibly the worst president in American history (with the possible exception of James Buchanan, incidentally the only Pennsylvanian president).

The Air Thread
