Lost + Lyrics....
I'm not in any way convinced his paedophilia was a result of his success, but anyway if it IS Mr Jackson mentioned in the song I find it totally repugnant.

Has Coldplay started a fashion for military style jackets in the UK?
^ Yes, especially the army surplus stores :D

Lost + Lyrics....
I like the rap a lot now now, in terms of pacing and rhyme, I feel like it adds a lot to the song. But, I really find the 'niggaz/s' reference unsettling in any sort of song, let alone a Coldplay one. Also, who is the Michael reference to? Surely not Jackson?

Radiohead Are Poor
Haven't listened to any of Radiohead's stuff at all since I watched their woeful performance at Glastonbury 1997. Perhaps I'm missing something, but after that dirge I really have never been bothered enough to find out.

My goodness, it's a good thing the band weren't aware of that in advance, or there would have been multiple divorces as a result of the irresistible love-fest that could have occurred in that room :laugh3::cool::P

Does Chris Martin Take Voice Lessons?
Yes he has a coach, and personally after seeing the band live four times last year I think he's singing better than ever I've seen (stretching back five years now). For some reason he sounds much more strained on radio broadcasts than he does at the actual gig (been to a few recently) - it's a bit of a mystery to me, because live he is pretty flawless :)

Booking Coldplay
Zero chance, no matter how much money you have for this. Sorry.

U2 singer Bono apologises after foul-mouthed insult of Coldplay's Chris Martin
That's not what you were saying at all with the post of yours I originally quoted, or your reply to me. We could also start debating your implicaion that Coldplay aren't bigger now than U2 were in 1987 anywhere except the Uk, but I think I'll just leave you to dig a bigger hole for yourself.

U2 singer Bono apologises after foul-mouthed insult of Coldplay's Chris Martin
We were talking (or rather you were) about what was 'widely accepted' NOT better. How old were you in 1987? I was in my mid-teens and know very well what the popularity of U2 was then compared to Coldplay now. And I was talking about in the UK, I did mention that in my post. <edit> oh and to my mind U2 will never make a better album than ARoBttH. And even if Chris thought the band ever did surpass U2, you really think he'd say so in public??! Nah, didn't think so...

As far as the UK's concerned, Coldplay at least equalled the 'widely accepted' Joshua Tree with X&Y, and with VLV they've WAY surpassed it.

The most epic Coldplay Song??
I completely agree, Yes for me is a stunning song and absolutely incredible when they played it with the extended jam at the end in the States, it took it to a whole new level, and I was really disappointed they gave up playing it so soon. I've heard Coldplay see the Stone Roses first album as a kind of bible, and would just so love them to have the guts to jam the life out of an end of a track like I Am the Resurrection, or the later single Fool's Gold. They could easily do it, and it would be marvellous :)

The most epic Coldplay Song??
Live Politik is stunning, absolutely mindblowing. Other than that I'd say A Rush of Blood to the Head is most epic - it's not my favourite song of theirs by a long shot, but it's just such a long, fully-developed song. It's such a shame that the critical mauling of x&y has stopped them really developing songs to their full potential. Now we get incredible songs, but ones that are quite short and feel like they could have been so much more, like Prospekt's March. Brian Eno was right, less is sometimes more. But sometimes more is even more!!

No squees on this thread please.
Yes indeed! I won't be in the front row (we're gonna grab seats at the front to the side) but if I can't hear Lovers in Japan over all the squ*es there will be trouble, most likely involving rubber chickens being chucked around :P I think that was Joe, he's still down in baggage with the poultry :laugh3:

No squees on this thread please.
No we're on a ship at the moment Chavi, though Joe is still stuck in the plane with the chickens (poor fella, got no help with an upgrade from his cap'n either - that's partly why the mutiny was launched!) The chicken you almost hit while you were singing Fix You must have been coincidence. You don't see too many chickens at sea, granted, but I have heard they do like x&y, so it may be best to avoid any tracks from that to prevent further trouble. Whatever vessel we're on though, dancing and singing are allowed (and even encouraged!) as long as they don't interfere with navigation. I thank you all for your kind co-operation and your further refrain from the dreaded word that rhymes with 'brie' (not to mention the other one that rhymes with 'floccinaucinihilipilification'.)

^ Ok, as long as it doesn't interefere with steering the ship :P Left a little bit please mademoiselle, you almost hit a chicken!!!
