i'm searching for that sample of debs's handwriting, but i can't find it. i'm really almost positive it's her, though. i have a feeling it might have been in one of the ezines...but it was this sort of diary entry of her reccollections of her first time seeing coldplay in manchester, i think. if anyone knows what i'm talking about, could you post it? i'm pretty sure that it's the same handwriting, but then again, i could be totally wrong. and it's kind of irking me :P

this is my summer song too. i'm already imagining tooling around amsterdam and rotterdam on my bike with this song, being the happiest i've ever been. and this is the song that i'll listen to at the top of the london eye, looking out over my favorite city. i'm just so in love with this song...when i was trying so hard to imagine what i wished for coldplay to come up with, if i had succeeded, this is the song my brain would have come up with. it's so...cinematic, so beautiful. i think i love this more than i loved "speed of sound" when it came out. and i didn't think that was possible for me. it's evolved AROBTTH, i think, and that's exactly what i dreamed for. my only hope is that the rest of the album is this mind-blowingly incredible in my book. because if it is...then it might bump out AROBTTH as my favorite thing on this planet. and i never dreamed that anyone would ever do that, not even coldplay themselves. i never asked for it, beacuse i knew that was impossible. but i might be wrong...who knows. ah, i'm probably getting ahead of myself with the novelty of it all, but i do think that this song will forever be one of my favorites.

^if the rest of the world loves "viva la vida" as much as i do, i think it'll blow VH out of the water! well, ok, probably not, because it's not free. but i think even though it's harder to get, it'll still be WAY up there.

exactly, exactly. that's better than i ever could have put it in this state. i think in my heart of hearts, that's what i wanted, even though i wouldn't fully admit it. i was calling for old coldplay, really, even though i knew that was pretty insane. but somewhere i knew that as long as it made me feel like AROBTTH and parachutes do, even if it was different, i was satisfied forever. and that's what this does. i can't describe how happy i am with this song.

i think the soccer promos might be it...that is fairly global (besides in the US...) but i just have this hunch that the new music and the global reach are connected. and they did say later in the month, not "tomorrow," so i think that we have yet to hear what it is. and i hope it's going to be EXPLOSIVE.

i haven't been able to really read what everyone's said and fully absorb it because i have too much adrenaline and absolute love for this song running through me, but here i go with what i think. i agree, after thinking about it, the lack of guitars and real will-esque drumming is missing. it's different in that they're not using the same instruments in the song. but somehow, i think that they retain their essential coldplayness in this song, as they didn't in VH and ASARY. the music is all them, i think, just so perfectly evolved into something new. i think in this song, the evolution is using a different bunch of instruments, like strings. on other songs, the evolution (or change...i find VH and ASARY to be slightly un-coldplay) will be in different ways, those times with guitar and drums etc. this album is supposed to be really varied and different at the same time. right now, because of this song, i LOVE the differentness, because they've given us something COMPLETELY fresh while still having it be coldplay, still having it be beautiful. and i just didn't feel too much when i listened to VH and ASARY. i like them, yeah, but i didn't get that rush of a blooming feeling when i heard them, not the first time, not in the times after. but with VLV...those first notes sent a shiver down my spine, made my hands shake, made my eyes feel like they wanted to cry. this song has quelled my worries about the album, that they'll have tried too hard (again) and that their music will bring new fans in, but alienate the oldies and diehards. now i know that there will be something for everyone on this album. i think we just need to wait for the entire album itself. for me, VLV (the song) is what sold me...for other people it'll be an entirely different song. of course, that's just what i think :smiley:. but i'm in love completely. i do think that part of it is excitement and novelty, but i also do think that i'm always going to love this song. it just struck that right chord within me...the way the notes fit together just fit my taste perfectly.

OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDD this is what i get for sleeping in. but this is just so beautiful that i'm crying. i just can't get over this song. this is EXACTLY what i was hoping for. i just...can't even find words. i love this more than VH and ASARY...and maybe most other coldplay songs. ok, well that's just the excitement and novelty speaking, probably, but i LOVE this song. all my worries about the album are GONE. this song erased them.

they NEED to add jigsaw in there by august! i'll be kind of mad if they don't play that. and i kind of really want one of those water bottles! maybe they'll sell them on tour :D

oh, maybe they are. i think i'm just so excited that i'm linking things together. i don't really care, as long as we get more music!! :dance:

:laugh4: :laugh4: :laugh4: i'm thinking in rainbows bonus disc too, but if this is supposed to be a global reach thing, i think this is going to be free. maybe. because the IR thing was expensive to get the second disc, and if this is supposed to be real marketing thing, i think it'll be much easier to get. half of me is thinking bonus disc later in the year, and half of me is thinking double album. i'm probably wrong on both counts, but that's just what i think this all looks like so far.

it's newbie season, so it's bound to happen. but i wish there was some way to make the really important threads blink red or something so they'll be directed there rather than creating a million threads asking for ASARY.

i really SHOULD be studying, but i'm watching CNN for the primary results and browsing coldplaying. story of my life. ah well, i have all of tomorrow. still, i feel a bit guilty, but i'm not in the mood to contemplate astronomy right now.
