  1. ^yeah, i'm surprised they said anything about it at all. i think i might stroll around primrose hill when i'm in london and try to spot it! :D
  2. found this one that's making me drool a bit, but i think perhaps that it's a better photo in general than it is a photo of chris
  3. :stunned: YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.
  4. wow, this is amazingly impressive for two days after the release! i wish i had a brain that could do that. i think the guitar solo sounds pretty kickass on the piano, and the whole thing is beautiful. i have to say, it sounds so much more "coldplay" when done on the piano. not just the sound of the song, but the whole melody and sound structure. if you took out the vocals of the real violet hill and played it for me, i probably would never guess that it was coldplay, or at least it would take me a while. but if you played me this, i think it would be one of my first guesses.
  5. i have to say that the intro reminds me more of DCFC's opening to plans with "marching bands of manhattan" rather than transatlanticism with "the new year." "the new year" kind of builds up and gets more intense, whereas in VH it just kind of stays the same once it reaches its volume and then all of a sudden, chris jumps in with those (very loud) vocals. i do looove albums that begin and start the same way, like a big circle. however, we've got to remember that VH is neither the opener nor the closer to the album...it's towards the end, but there's still two tracks and a hidden track that come after it. i tend to keep forgetting every 5 minutes that VH isn't the opener just beacause it's pretty reminiscent of "politik" and "square one," but yeah. in this sense, i dont think VH has any bearing on "life in technicolor" etc etc. interesting idea, though!
  6. AHHHHHHHHHH thank GOD my astronomy class was cancelled! i know it's been said, but this sounds EXACTLY like U2. like freakily so. i didn't even read what anyone else said before, because i got it sent to me rather than seeing the thread, but U2 IMMEDIATELY sprung to mind. wowies. but i looooooove it. it's more embellished than i hoped this album would be (i was hoping just for like, two guitars, bass, drums and piano), but whatever! gahhh, now i HAVE to have more! this is too much of a teaser, it's getting too painful to wait :bigcry:
  7. oooooooh yeah! hahaa, i completely forgot about that! ok, so that sort of counts, i suppose. kinda. well, i'll try my hand at it occasionally, but this is your thread :D justin: i think that VLVOD will reach #1 in about just as many countries, maybe a few more, but that it will stay in the #1 spot longer than X&Y did :D semy, what do you think? :P
  8. ^:D in that case, i think i better wash my glasses too...they're a bit grotty. but i'm only the junior oracle, like when you're on lunch break or something :P. i have yet to prove my seeing ability.
  9. my mom likes it too! she REALLY likes it! but she says she really doesn't think it's that different than their earlier stuff at all (meaning X&Y, not like "yellow" or whatever). i've come to the conclusion that violet hill must be played LOUD. you cannot listen to this at normal volume, no way. i think i may kill what's left of my ear drums by next week. let's hope spell/yell is a bit less...biologically dangerous :D
  10. i'll answer this one to take off some of the load...if that's ok, o wise one :D in the radio 1 interview yesterday, chris said there were a lot more vocals from the other members!! he didn't say solos, exactly, but that makes me SO EXCITED!!
  11. in the theme of the song lyric ones: how infinite is space?
  12. hahahahaha clean your glasses! i need to knowwww :P nah, i figure we'll hear next week. didn't they say the tour dates are in NME, or did i make that up?
  13. huh, i think i just have too much shit on my igoogle page and it makes the banner a bit smaller so it got cut off. i'm now kind of in love with it :D hmm, i wonder what song that's from. i was kind of hoping that the word was different just to be more original, but whatever. lots of religious stuff in the album, perhaps? there was in violet hill, i'm guessing there is in another song...
  14. the one i've got now has the lyrics "lord, lead me not into _____" the ____ is cut off  i refresh the page like every hour now to see if there are new lyric snippets to be read.
  15. haha, you really predicted this back in december? dude! in that case, i have a very important question: oh, wise semy, will coldplay do a show when we're in london and will we get tickets??? i'm kind of dying to know here :D also, when will we get the violet hill video? :P
  16. ^i did. i once had a book that had that painting on the cover. and it was in my AP european history textbook. so i find it a bit strange that it's now an album cover...
  17. i really REALLY hope that the CD booklet looks like all of this. i find it fascinating, especially because it's handwritten :D
  18. for some odd and completely unknown reason, "violet hill" has inspired me to listen to the killers in between obsessive listens of the song itself. i suppose it might be because i think the end bit of "violet hill" sounds like "interlude" and "exitlude" a bit, but really...i think it was definitely VH that got me into a killers mood
  19. i don't listen to american radio unless i'm forced to, so i really don't know. however, i seem to recall some other american saying yesterday that it was played...i could be wrong though.
  20. --bad grammar in writing, especially things like "they're/there/their" etc --teenage girls and young women who all look the SAME --when things break, even little things like jewellery --people that don't plan ahead and wing everything --SLOW PCs --inconsiderate people -arrogant people oh, lots of things, but this is the list for now :P
  21. i really hope this is the song (or one of the few songs) that they play on the today show on june 27. i think this would be KILLER live, especially with me hopefully being in the front row! ahh, i can just see jonny groving along when he plays that solo...
  22. dude, it's beating even speed of sound?! i have high hopes that this album is what will make them respectable in every venue, and really cool to like. this is just confirming all that!
  23. i have the rss :D and the toolbar. and i always have a tab with coldplaying up anyway :P i think i want it more just to have it!
  24. um, regardless of the coldplay theme (which is SO KICK ASS), i love igoogle. new favorite thing ever. now they just need a coldplaying box to add!
  25. ^well that is true, which is why i assume they let them do it this way in the first place. but i bet those greedy execs are just sobbing at the thought of all the money they could have made if they made coldplay charge for this. i mean, they obviously saw it coming, but i'm just imagining them really wringing their hands when making the decision.
