interestingly enough, violet hill. but i'm hoping that i'm going to like what's on the album itself more than both of these tracks combined. it's not that i don't like them, it's just that i had higher hopes so far. but i'm reserving judgement until VLVOD.

i just hope most of the other things on the album are simpler than ASRY and even VH...less synth etc, more just guitars, bass, drums, and even piano with chris's clear voice. all the extra stuff in there makes me think that they're trying too hard.

i could have SWORN that someone was listening to ASARY across the hall, but alas, they were not. figures. that would be too geeky, to have a song on the day it came out :dozey:

wow, well that 30 second clip told us everything we needed to know, i guess. it's not that i don't like it, i just hope that their other tracks and b-sides will be more coldplay and less U2. i really like the vibe of it, acutally, and wish it was longer!! NOOO idea what chris is saying most of the time, though. i think we need a threadddd :sneaky:

is ASARY defintiely on zane's show? because the show before that was talking about it too... he does have a bit of an annoying voice. semy and i were debating if he was australian, or if he might have spent a lot of time in the US. i think all this british-radio listening will make me speak subconsciously in a british accent for the rest of the day.

oohh yes, that "extras" is why i bought the DVD for $10. good thing i subsequently fell absolutely in love with the film and simon after watching the whole thing! now simon pegg/nick frost/edgar wright films are on par with coldplay in my book :D but i meant i'd just like to hear a conversation between them, a natural one, with them cracking their jokes and doing their crazy things to each other :P

oh man, yeah, you'd never see that sort of thing on american TV, at least not on TV that's not fiction. they'd censor it pretty badly. haha, it would be hilarious if chris mentioned that when they're on jonathan ross, but knowing him, he won't at all. he'll dodge it even if ross mentions it. like the last time he was on, he only nodded curtly when asked if he had kids (i think it was ross, anyway...i seem to remember him mentioning apple singing while chris was playing piano :nice:)

oh man, i think this story is hilarious still. i kind of really want to see simon and chris interacting with each other, because i think they're both absolutely hysterical. poor apple though!

yeahhhhhh, i underestimated when i said 43. try 57...and that's not just since the last time i posted here. i guess i listened on my ipod more than i thought i did :P

i do have to say that you're right, but it does really depend on what area you live in. most of the cities are pretty bleak. but yeah...cooooold in the winter! (or at least it used to be). i love the cold though, so i don't mind :D it's also all about location. you'd be crazy to buy property in the area that i live in unless you're a CEO or hedgefund manager, because the market has become ridiculous in the past decade. the house i live in now would probably sell for about 1-2 million dollars, and i promise we bought it for nowhere NEAR that amount, and you could get the same house in another state for $300,000. it's ridiculous. as much as i love my state, i really don't think i'll be able to afford to live there when it comes time for me to buy my own place. i have to say that this is pretty fun, looking at all these properties! i'm spending lots of time looking at the england ones, but i found quite a nice one in the town over from mine in CT. when i make my first $14 million, i'll buy it :P

i'm one of the ones that thinks it's certainly on par with the photo album/transatlanticism/plans, but i might change my tune when the novelty wears off. i can think of two major stand-out songs for me, and at least two others that i absolutely love, so i feel like i couldnt have asked for much more. i don't think that this is a passing fad for me...it doesn't feel like it will be.
