  1. colored electrical tape, whicih i believe is what chris uses anyway. i worked in electrics a lot for our school plays, so we had so much lying around that one day i just did my fingers like chris because i was bored during rehearsal! :P it just took some getting used to. and i got a lot of weird looks...
  2. ah, no one's going to die from one oreo full. if i ate the whole tube, maybe, but if a tiny bit of toothpaste could kill you, they wouldn't sell it. flouride toothpaste is illegal in europe?! dude.
  3. i know exactly what you mean. but i like being surprised by which song i wake up to, so i've got a big long playlist of good songs to wake up to (NOT songs like "fix you" or quiet ones!) and it randomizes it for me. that's why i'm particularly surprised when the song i wake up to defines my day, because it was selected by that algorithm that randomizes your ipod and not anything else!
  4. i figure he's done with the colored bands, yeah. he said they were chunks of color "like our new album cover" so i figure there's no reason for him to put them on anymore (FYI, they're really uncomfortable and sweaty. i've tried it and i don't know how he does it all the time). and i wouldn't be surprised if he came up with something new to write on his hand for this album that still gets the MTF message across. for AROBTTH he just wrote the website out, but for X&Y it got more symbolic. either way, he should probably quit drawing on himself with sharpie or he's going to get ink poisoning! i've got it on my arm and it looks pretty stupid.
  5. ^yes, but spelled in the american way :P sorry again for it being cut off and wonky in places. when i cropped out the photo i tried to touch it up a bit, but it still could be much better.
  6. i posted the full pic (though kind of crappy quality) here if anyone's still interested
  7. i laugh my ass off every tuesday from 1:30 to 3:30 because i have the most hilarious lab partner in the WORLD. today because it was april fools he called his parents and brothers and told them he got engaged the night before. i suppose you had to be there, but he had his mom on speakerphone to our astronomy class, and i just died laughing.
  8. i'll answer these questions for what i was like in highschool, because that was a hell of a lot more stressful and harder than uni 1. no, but i'm really not happy about it 2. YES. 3. not majorly, but i study my ass off 4. yes, but everyone did. ergo, not many social events to turn down. 5. all the pressure was self-imposed. i wanted to get into a good college. my parents were like "you go to school?" uni's quite different though
  9. i could NOT find the thread where we discussed this article when it was released online, so i'm posting these here because i don't think it merits a brand-new thread, really. so here's a (crappy) version of that pic from RS.com, but WITH guy in: i'm sorry it's so crappy and cut off, but it isn't the best scanner in the world, and it's pretty small. but at least you can see guy, right?! :P and here's the (HUGE) entire article, if you're interested (again, i'm very sorry it's cut off, but my roommate's scanner was too small for the RS page size ) and that odd spot near the top where it says "IN THE STUDIO" in red is where i dropped ben and jerry's on the article. whooopsies :D
  10. ok, just let me know when :D i just think ben gibbard is one of the best lyricists out there these days. he can make an entire scene somehow with musical arrangements and so few words...they're awesome in concert as well. perhaps the best-quality live music i've ever heard. it's almost better than the records, and i'm much more of a studio-version person. gahhh, i love them.
  11. mine meets two of the three...
  12. ahh, death cab! i looooove them. i HIGHLY recommend both transatlaticism and plans, which are their most recent albums. there's not a song i don't like on either, but my absolute favorite is "marching bands of manhattan." also, the photo album is really amazing, but you can't go wrong with anything! i've got it all, if you need it ;) i DLed the single the other day, and it's really different from their other stuff, but GREAT. sooo pumped
  13. apparently most people are totally grossed out by the oreo thing, but i can't believe i didn't notice! i even ate the rest of it to prove it wasn't that bad. i suppose the aftertaste was unusually minty, though...
  14. despite it's killer soundtrack, the last kiss was pretty unimpressive in my book. not to mention damn depressing. movies like that make me lose faith in men, at least for a few hours :P i was expecting a garden-state-type deal. ah, well. zach braff, simon pegg and coldplay?! i would die happy right on the spot if i saw them walking down the street :dead:
  15. yes, i wondered what happened to him! i wouldn't imagine that the crowd was prepared to catch him just because it was kind of unexpected...but that must have REALLY hurt...my goodness! i  chris
  16. i got two pulled on me, but neither really worked fully. one was that someone wrote on the whiteboard on my door that barack obama was giving a speech at my school on thursday (which i've been REALLY hoping to happen, and it might actually), so i believed it for about 2 seconds until i remembered what date it was and then looked at my friend like this: :dozey: and then later my friend offered me an oreo while talking, so i took one and ate it while continuing with whatever i was saying. all the people around me slowly began to look like this: :stunned:, so i was like "what?!" it turns out that they replaced the cream in the oreo with toothpaste, but i honestly didn't even notice because i eat mint oreos all the time and it just tasted normal! :laugh4: and then my lab partner put his mom and two of his brothers on speakerphone during class and told them that he got ENGAGED last night, and his brothers freaked out! it was GREAT. it was even better that our professor let him do it during class, as long as she was allowed to come to the wedding :P
  17. yes, i can't say i'm extremely well-versed in lifehouse either, but i really really like what i have. he has a great voice. i feel a bit odd about it, but several of the bands towards the bottom of the list i'm not terribly knowledgeable about; i just LOVE what i have/have heard. there are so many things in music and TV and movies and books that i need to explore more when i find the time...
  18. DEFINITELY don't drive there! you could make it worse! get someone else to drive you to be safe.
  19. ok, i hammered this out earlier today. it was harder than i thought! 1. coldplay 2. radiohead 3. the beatles (i feel like they should be higher, but i don't listen to them as much as i used to) 4. U2 5. the strokes 6. death cab for cutie 7. the killers 8. travis (they're climbing higher) 9. snow patrol 10. albert hammond jr. 11. vampire weekend 12. oasis 13. rolling stones 14. the who 15. weezer 16. the shins 17. pearl jam 18. keane 19. the fray 20. jack's mannequin 21. dave matthew's band 22. tom petty and the heartbreakers 23. sigur ros 24. lifehouse 25. hendrix
  20. ^well, he's still sort of in it...he still works in the hospital, so we see him on occasion. but not enough :P
  21. eek, no, i'd die without my liscense. the thought terrifies me. i really hope you get it back and everything works out, though!
  22. no one else can be so freaking adorable while being so geeky :nice: i missed chris dancing.
  23. i was just fooled really good for about 2 seconds by one of my friends, so there's no WAY i'm believing anything else today.
  24. what a great caption! what a doodle! what a freaking JUMP!! i could NEVER do that!
