Radiohead
Reckoner in a French ad Since smoking is no longer allowed in French bars and clubs from 1/1/2008, an advertising campaign has been broadcast about this, and the background music is Reckoner. Here it is : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7iKl7TvzmE For those who give a damn about what the voice says and don't understand spoken French, it's something like that : "Caroline is risking her life. Indeed, she's contracting a mortal disease, inhaling cigarette smoke everyday while she works in this club." Then usual stuff "Tobacco kills everyday, so we have to change : smoking is forbidden in every club or bar since 1/1/2008."

Well Jigsaw video was funny but with style, whereas this Nude seems a little ridiculous to me. Hope it won't be the official music vid, cause I think it wouldn't seduce many people... So I watched the whole webcast. Weird Fishes and 15 Step ROCKED. I felt a bit disappointed by this version of Jigsaw : I missed the energy that's usually provided by REAL drums.

Radiohead
Well happy new year everyone. I'm so sad I missed the webcast. If anyone finds links to download it, then give them to me pleaaaase. I hope it was nice. Did anyone watch it ?

I think they're worth it. It will be a great moment, I don't care how much money it will cost

songs about suicide.
My sister is a fan of theirs (that's why I know the song), but she hates all those stupid little girls. And I had forgotten one of the bests : Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. "Just killed a man : put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger, now he's dead." "I don't wanna die, I sometimes wish I've never been born at all"

Maraca, i'd say. He and Colin used some for Reckoner on the last webcast. Speaking about webcasts, I don't know how I'll manage to watch RH's best wishes at midnight, since I won't be at home, but by some people that are not exactly as Radiohead-addicted as I am... This sucks P.S. : I heard Jigsaw on French radio Le Mouv' yesterday.

songs about suicide.
I'd say (don't know if any of them has already been posted by someone) : - No Surprises by Radiohead - Chop Suey ! by System Of A Down - Lonely Day by " ('And if you die, I wanna die with you') - Happiness by Venus (just before suicide) - Vertigone by " (just after) - Headlights by Archive (wonderful song imo) - Goodbye Cruel World by Pink Floyd (not exactly about suicide, but can easily be considered so) Many by Eels of course (ask wikipedia about his lifestory and you'll know why), like Elizabeth On The Bathroom Floor, Last Stop : This Town and Going To Your Funeral (both parts) and of course... Spring Nicht by Tokio Hotel haha ^^

The Pink Floyd Thread
^ Well done ! Still, almost nothing to say. Today I came across some Oh, By The Way Discboxes : they're beautiful things, though too expensive and full of stuff all PF fans already have (except one little poster).

^ Ondes Martenot -> Jigsaw. By the way, when will it happen ?

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Never mind, it's OK. But think a little about it and you'll realise that if they were seriously involved in the song more than in sitcom-like humour while they're playing, their live performances would be way better and more interesting. My favourite concert of all time is Pink Floyd's P.U.L.S.E, and when those guys are on stage, they're not joking, they're mind-blowing. This is the difference between funny and good.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
I hope you're joking. This kind of behaviour is exactly why, with time, I'm gonna get to dislike Muse. They come drunk on stage, mess up a song that isn't even theirs, showing how they don't give a fuck about respect to the audience, and thousands of young morons love it, because it's oh so cool. Muse are great musicians and if they made music seriously, they could be as good and interseting as Radiohead, but instead they just fool around on stage and fans ask for more. In twenty years, what people will remember about Muse is this gross Feeling Good performance instead of Citizen Erased or Space Dementia. This is ridiculous.

They could've : total duration is shorter than 80 min. MK2 sounds good between Go Slowly and Last Flowers to me.

I think you forgot about Tokio *cough cough* Hotel.

Metal?
I randomly found out in a Chemistry homework an outsider : Thallium. Thallium is a fantastic metal : almost liquid (easy to cut with a simple knife), it looks blue-ish (well metal-blue) and is used as a light-blocker in photo-electric cells. Cool metal thallium is. What do you guys think about it ?

Well I love PT. I haven't listened to any very second of Blackfield (I'm waiting for the time when I know all PT stuff, then I'll get interested in sideprojects). I saw PT live in Paris on December 3rd and it was totally mindblowing. I particularly appreciated Anesthetize, which was really awesome live.

O My God that's right !! Maybe he's imitating

The Radiohead - In Rainbows Thread
^ Well it seemed quite obvious to me as I was listening to the first seconds. Of course it's a Videotape reprise. I was surprised and happy when I recognized that the keyboard chord at the beginning of 4MW was the one heard in the webcast. About parents, my Mom keeps asking how I can listen to such horrible music. My Dad used to love Radiohead (he had quite exactly the same taste in music as me). and... I'm the particularly happy owner of A TICKET TO RADIOHEAD IN PARIS-BERCY, JUNE 10TH !

Well I don't know S.C.I.E.N.C.E, but I advise you to listen to their The Odyssey. It's been released split into 4 on the Halo 2 Original Soundtrack (Vol. 1) and if you gather them together, you get a 27-minute mindblowing progrock piece. I really love it. (there are two tributes to Pink Floyd inside it !!)

The Pink Floyd Thread
Well you know it's been a while since there's been any news about Pink Floyd... I still love them : this is important. I'd like to say my dad did too. He taught me how to appreciate Pink Floyd, from whom his favourite songs were Comfortably Numb, High Hopes and Wish You Were Here. He died two weeks ago (Heartattack, aged 45). These songs have been played at his funeral.
