It is a shame he or she will wait until Monday because then he or she won't have the songs in her memory so fresh. That being said, I won't get my hopes high but at least she didn't say it was bad or merely OK.

I respect your opinion. I guess their is nothing written when it comes down to musical taste. So it's normal some like some songs more than others. In any case, I must point out that apparently some of the criticism have has some effect in the band, since apparently Chris only sang para-paradise yesterday night and not para-para-paradise like in the studio version. Maybe is just a coincidence, but who knows...

I won't hear this song until its actual release, but after reading a whole bunch of comments posted in this thread, I have the following comments: First, I think that the boys have made the mistake of being to repetitive in their songs this time. For example, Paradise, ETIAW and now Up In Flames. I don't really remember a repetitive song in VIVA or X&Y, AROBTTH, etc. In my opinion, this is undoubtedly a feature in mainstream songs. Second, and after hearing yesterday all the released songs, except Up In Flames, it is clear that the weakest link is Paradise. Although I initially criticized ETIAW for the Peter Allen sample, I think that it is a good song, very upbeat and the verses are fair good. I don't know if I started loving the song after seeing the live performances, but let me tell you, nowadays it is the third most heard song in my iTunes, and it was released on June 3. Major Minus is better on its live version (I hope they fixed the bad things in the album version), Charlie Brown is going to be amazing, UATW is classic Coldplay and Hurts Like Heaven is my favorite. Finally, I think Moving to Mars is a great song. I had my doubts, but yesterday I heard the live version in the iTunes Festival and was once again captivated by such an amazing piece. Therefore, I think that we must calm down and not be so prejudiced by every new release - especially after the huge disappointment of Paradise - because deep down we all know that this boys have the power of captivating us, even if it is with a great performance of a song that is not so good in its studio version. Over to you...

Before listening to Paradise I was actually thinking on waiting to hear Up In Flames and DLIBYH, but since Paradise was such a deception, I might hear them in order to calm down and be excited again with the release of MX.

I think the boys can reach the mainstream full arena tour status without selling out for way too mainstream and pop-y music. They already prove it with VIVA. Besides, their music is so good that it would be beautiful to see them in an intimate tour, as they promised at the beginning of the LP5 era.
