  1. notice how the albums getting votes are all the more commercial albums: bssm, californication, and by the way (not to mention their greatest hits cd which probably shouldn't even be included in this) i voted for californication with mother's milk in a close second :D
  2. what the hell is wrong with you people? how can you possibly think that leonard cohen's original version of hallelujah is "hilariously shitty" :o . this is fucking leonard cohen we're talking about here! it may not be as good as jeff buckley or even rufus wainright's version of the song, but it is still VERY GOOD

  15. i hafta say that it should be a really good album. it should be alot diferent from most of their other stuff (especially everything they've put out since btcs). it'll have more of a jazzy, hip-hop feel on a few tracks and will be a really good cd (i'm excited about it). i've heard a number of the songs live and they are up there with some of dmb's early material as being their best. check out the songs "hello again" and "joy ride" when you get the chance. hello again stole the show at darien lake (near buffalo) that i went to this summer. i've seen them four times and personally think they're an awesome band to see live just because the environment is so mellow and most of the people are really cool. unfortunately their has recently been a few too many high-school age kids there who just came to get hammered and they tend to be assholes.
  16. if i could have just one dmb cd i think i'd go with crash. it has quite a few songs that are considered essential dave (#41, Two Step, Lie In Our Graves, say goodbye) plus some radio staples (Crash Into Me, Tripping Billies, So Much To Say). It also has a nice combination of really mellow songs (proudest monkey, cry freedom, let you down) and rockers (too much, drive in drive out). i also like uttad and btcs alot but crash is their best imo. if you get uttad listen to pfwyg (it's my favorite dmb song) and with bttcs listen to dreaming tree (great understated bass part)
  17. they are ridiculously talented musicians and one of the tightest bands out there. i have emense respect for them as songwriters and musicians and i am in no way embaressed to say that i have every one of their cds and every song they've ever performed live
  18. where's talk coming from. me wants!!! :D
  19. i love jack johnson. he's really a very talented musician and people dont give him enough credit as a songwriter. i think his first album (brushfire fairytales) was his best so far, but he's still a young guy and has lots of potential for puting out lots more really great stuff in the future. his latest album is by far the weakest in my opinion. if you are unsure of him as a songwriter listen to "f-stop blues" its on brushfire fairytales (pure genius)
  20. Hitch starring Will Smith. nothing spectacular and entirely predictable. of course its just a stupid romance comedy so it shouldnt be taken too seriously, and there were some really funny parts, but in all it was very forgetable. i give it a 5 (pure mediocrity) :)
  21. you must own all of the following albums these are what i would call my favorite albums ever: the beatles - sgt pepper Rolling Stones - Let it bleed bob dylan - blonde on blonde john coltrane - a love supreme miles davis - kind of blue radiohead - ok computer santana - self titled jeff buckley - grace Led Zeppelin II The Cream of Clapton Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot Death Cab For Cutie - Transatlanticism White Stripes - White Blood Cells Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication Neil Young - Greatest Hits Traffic - The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys Bela Fleck and the Flecktones - Live Art Dave Matthews Band - Crash Pearl Jam - Ten jack johnson - brushfire fairytales radiohead - kid a coldplay - parachutes
  22. right now i'd say that coldplay is as good as radiohead would be considered if they'd never released ok computer or kid a
  23. there is absolutely no way that bright eyes is overrated. most people haven't even heard of 'em and the people who have tend to not like them. personally i think that connor is f'n brilliant and one of the most underrated artists out there. as for overrated. the most overrated of all time: guns n roses aerosmith van halen early beatles elvis nirvana (i like nirvana alot, and late beatles is simply incredible)
