Confirmed Australian Tour: Feb/March 2009
Can they just release the prices already?! Honestly, releasing this news a few days before the pre-sale date and not including pricing is kinda ridiculous. I mean people need to have fair warning etc. Anyway, what's done is done - I just wanna know how much we're talking here. Last Aus concert, the Brisbane tickets were $130 I think. A fair price I suppose so I'm hoping they don't push it beyond $150 because that would definitely be ridiculous lol. ^^ I was wondering about the pre-sale code too since that's how they conducted it last time though what was written ^ is pretty spot on, you just need a Visa card. It's going to be a mad rush on Thursday, I can feel it already! :O

Aussies can win a VIP pass!
I've got Visa and I'm buying my tickets pre-sale  (that's if the other people less deserving than me of course, beat me to it haha :shifty:). If I win, I'll take ya with me, I mean I wouldn't know about this if you didn't tell me ay haha. Though if it's in Brissy, you gotta come here deal? haha :D

New Kids On The Block
That's great! My oldest sister was/is quite a fan of the band still and I'll not hide the fact that I liked them then and I still like their stuff now  (yes, I am a Coldplay and NKOTB fan - we people exist lol). Anyway, a shame about the distance and all, I'm sure your mom and Kim would still get along great :D (I'm so late with this reply lol, but better late than never hey!)

Glósóli has the drummer boy and kids etc; a lovely video that is truly wonderful to watch :nice: I can't say I have a favorite video anymore as most if not all are purely amazing and keeps me captivated for the entire clip, my eyes are like :stunned: all thoughout lol! I adore their work. I reckon they are one of the few remaining bands out there that have music that truly speaks for itself (as in the listeners imagination can go unaided by videos etc), yet ironically it's lyrically cryptic and one can't understand what is being sung however we all seem to gain our own perfect interpretation of what it's saying  I saw them 1st of August in Melbourne and they were everything I imagined and more  They played a mixture of songs from past albums with some from Með Suð Í Eyrum Við Spilum Endalaust. I wrote a small review a couple pages back about the setlist as well as a few things they did  To put it boldly - they were magical!!! Have a great time! :D

Setlist • 01 August 08 • Melbourne Festival Hall, Australia 01) Svefn-g-englar 02) Glosoli 03) Sé Lest 04) 05) Ný Batterí 06) Við Spilum Endalaust 07) Hoppípolla 08) Með Blóðnasir 09) 10) Suð Í Eyrum 11) Fljótavík 12) Sæglópur 13) Inní Mér Syngur Vitleysingur 14) 15) Gobbledigook ------------------------------------------------------- Encore #1 16) Festival ------------------------------------------------------- Encore #2 17) All Alright ------------------------------------------------------- The missing names are for songs that I still can't place at the moment. If/when I figure it out, I'll add them to the list. None of those missing are from Takk, I know that much lol. It was mind-blowing! It truly was! Each song just kept building and building up and wow, just an amazing performance by the band. Once again, Jonsi was spot on :D I love this setlist already, though had it included Gong and Starálfur, I'd be in heaven :nice: They played Hoppípolla which, wow, once the audience heart it starting, the crowd started cheering and applauding...then all fell silent and the band was full-blown center of attention with every single pair of eyes on them with little to no movement from the entire crowd. I'm pretty sure it was during Fljótavík that the blue lights settled to the roof of the arena and small snowflake-like confetti fell slowly on a small part of the audience. It was magical as the blue lights hit the thousands of little pieces falling... Just watching it fall, and it seemed like they fell so slowly too, you really did have a sense of what the band was trying to say, like what mood they wanted to create... :nice: During Gobbledigook huge bursts of confetti, larger this time and way more in-your-face start a couples times from each side to the standing audience in the pit area. It really just pumps you up - Aaaaaah, it was amazing! They also get everyone to clap and the energy in the entire place picks up, seriously, it's a sight to see!!! I'm excited for the next lot of people who get to see them :) If you haven't bought your ticket or am still deciding on whether or not to go, GO, you won't regret it :D:D:D:D

What are some favorite/classic songs of the 90s?
:laugh3: I know what you meant by "I'm sorry". Those are definite 90s classics though certain do make me shutter lol. Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, and definitely Alanis Morrisette. A few more that spring to mind are tracks from Boyz II Men. All I think about is the 90s when I think of these guys.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAH! It was AMAZING :stunned::stunned::stunned::heart: Below are pics of the venue followed by the all important setlist to come :D The show was amazing! It truly was magical. Every single person in the audience staring in awe at the band... It was spectacular :stunned:

New Kids On The Block
Hey! NKOTB are great :D:D:D Sure their past albums are a lot outdated, but they were MASSIVE in their day, and could be pretty big now. This band is great :D My sister is a HUGE fan, and as a younger sister, I've somewhat become a fan too.

What are some favorite/classic songs of the 90s?
:shocked2: Wow! I don't know how long it would take me to compile a list like this! There are a lot on there I'd totally have in mine too. Although now I simply can't stand Wonderwall, it definitely gets me thinking back to the 90s without a doubt!

What are some favorite/classic songs of the 90s?
You are very correct, but yes, I was being sneaky and referring to the '92 re-release :D but it's true :shame: lol. Anyway another one that comes to mind: Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit I have to agree with your last comment lol. I went on a youtube search through a bunch of 90s clips and couldn't pass the song (I didn't listen to it all the way though, that would be too much ).

What are some favorite/classic songs of the 90s?
There are too many good ones but just as many terrible ones that when reflecting on it, make me cringe that I was into that at the time, though it's best to laugh about it  Afterall, the following generations may just be saying the same about today's music (not Coldplay of course, they're timeless, and as Chris said himself "maybe I'm biased, but I'm definitely right" :smug: So what are your favorite or the most classic, or even your favorite classic 90s songs? From off the top of my head (meaning this will definitely change lol), I reckon my top 5 favorites in no particular order are: Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody RHCP - Californication or Under the Bridge Jamiroquai - Virtual Insanity The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony Goo Goo Dolls - Iris These are by no means my absolute favorites, but they do get me thinking about the 90s. Too bad Red, Red Wine by UB40 was done in the 80s as that would've totally made my list :D

I NEED BOOKS SUGGESTIONS!
^ It's fantastic and powerful :) I read it back in year 10, so years ago, and I still remember it quite well. Great, great story.

Happy 30th Birthday, Will!
I'm kinda late with this but... HAPPY BIRTHDAY WILL! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I NEED BOOKS SUGGESTIONS!
Everytime I go to purchase a new book I always avoid this one and I've no idea why. I roughly know what it's about and I don't doubt it's a great read - that's it! I'm going to get it next time I'm looking for a good story :D Okay, back on topic  If you have to read a book for school I'm guessing it's for English and you may have to do an analysis of the book or something so one that always comes to mind is To Kill A Mockingbird and even Pride & Prejudice. Also Wuthering Heights is good to break-down. Catch-22 is hilarious. I laugh out loud sometimes lol it really is a good read. The Joy Luck Club is a complete classic too - they're all pretty great

The Dark Knight
When anyone from Australia makes it big in Hollywood, you can almost always guarantee the entire country is backing them up. There wasn't an exception with Heath :D Let's just say I'm on my uni break so have been catching every movie I could possible watch before the semester begins and of all the movies coming out, The Dark Knight is by far the most anticipated and talked about movie this year! All sessions were sold out the day it opened and continues to be. We're talking all screenings sold out by 9am in the morning! We all loved Heath and you can just tell, well at least I could just sitting in the cinema, an incredible amount of support for the movie, mainly due to Heath of course but the movie did live up to its expectation and came into it's own in the end :) Heck, he was so convincing as the Joker I totally forgot about Ledger lol, like he was that good! That's academy award winning stuff imo.

Happy Birthday: BRIGGINS!
Happy Birthday Briggs! Have 'such a perfect day' and you never know, this may be the day you fall in love with Coldplay all over again - fingers crossed lol. Have a good one :D

^ I gave it a 10! I'd been looking forward to it for weeks now and when we got tickets on Wednesday I was so excited. It definitely surpassed my expectations. Ledger really was spectacular as the Joker. I won't mention anything about the plot or anything as to not ruin it for anyone, but it's so good I'd see it again - all 3 hours again lol. :D
-
The Dark Knight
I watched it on Wednesday since it came out here in Australia early :D It's such a great film! If you're a Batman fan you'll be sure to love it. Heath Ledger and Christian Bale are fantastic! Their characters are so well portrayed and it's captivating from start to end. It's also 3 hours long but definitely worth it :D See it! :D
