The best American soccer teams are the Galaxy, Columbus Crew, Real Salt Lake and Seattle Sounders (imo). New York has Henry now, but historically they haven't been too consistent.

I'm not even too sure what 'american style soccer' looks like. Its more the fact that european leagues have better players, a more developed system and a larger fanbase. If you're a soccer fan in America you're not going to be satisfied by just supporting say, the Chicago Fire. I spend most of my time concentrating on the Premier League and Bundesliga.

1-13. Growing up I would read with my mom at night and we'd listen to classical or Celtic music tapes (Mozart, Pachelbel's Canon, Lifescapes etc.). I liked random artists like Simon and Garfunkel and Billy Gilman, but I disliked most music on the radio, so if asked my favorite music I'd just say 'classical'. 13-15. These years I started burning mixes of random songs I liked spanning from u2 to five for fighting to killers to green day. But generally I hardly owned any c.d's. After hearing the song boulevard of broken dreams green day (embarrasingly) became my favorite group for a couple years. I still have Dookie and American Idiot pretty much memorized though I haven't listened to them in years. 15-16. In 2005 my brother let me take Coldplay's X&Y to a camp, and I quickly became obsessed. Between that, The Shins' 'Oh, inverted world' and u2's 'how to dismantle...' I became bored by the repetitive power chords of green-day and tapped into music with a more spiritual flavor. I later bought Parachutes and AROBTTH, and both albums gave me a bigger high than anything before them. 17-18. As an established coldplay fan-boy, my older brother introduced me to Radiohead who would become the soundtrack to my freshman year in college (along with The Verve, The Frames and a regained interest in Beethoven and Chopin). My second year I became obsessed with shoegaze a-la My Bloody Valentine, and Slowdive for a period. Then I discovered Sigur Ros on this forum, and they proved as revolutionary to my taste as coldplay was. I listened to them obsessively for the remainder of the year along with Jon Hopkins and Arcade Fire. 19-present. Via Sigur Ros I gradually explored the world of post-rock bands, and for the past year have collected works by Eluvium, Explosions In the Sky, Hammock, Helios etc. etc. Right now I feel like I'm just filling in the corners of my collection with genre's and sounds that I haven't picked up yet. I'm proud of all my pop-rock stuff which I listen to a lot, but when I get bored I don't just want a new artist, I want something unlike everything else I've heard before. Lately I've been listening to a lot of Max Richter and Olafur Arnalds type stuff.

One day when I'm feeling really masochistic I'll take a peek at the 10 worst.

Seeing how we had it in '94, and we'd be hosting it twice in a span of time that some larger soccer nations haven't hosted it at all, 2018 is extremely optimistic. Still, 2022 is very possible, especially with God on our side :wacky:
