  1. If they are I'll be calling all night donating a dollar at a time :D
  2. That version is a bit off. I don't think anyone's quite come up with a definitive tab of the acoustic version, I'm still working on it myself, but I can tell you there's a capo on the 7th fret and it works around a Dsus2 chord for parts of it.
  3. Oh and I'd love to have Jonny's old effects board from the AROBTTH tour, which hasn't received too much attention. (200th post!)
  4. Just a prediction, and I could be crazy, but I think there may be a few great items that go for a song. For example, one of Jonny's telecasters, as there are six (!) of them. They are great guitars to begin with, but none of them have quite the same sentimental value as Chris' first guitar or Jonny's practice amp from the early days. Now if they did this in the height of the VLV frenzy, I'd think that anything with their signature would go for thousands, but this hasn't gotten too much press and its been quiet on the Coldplay front recently. If I had the cash I'd definitely bid on one, but seeing as the Telecasters cost around $500 dollars (at least) for a retail one that has nothing to do with the band I'm sure they will be well out of my range. However I can't really see all of them going for more than a grand or two each, so for those with that kind of money it would certainly be worth it. Oh how cool would it be if you had to prove you can play the instruments and your Coldplay fandom to bid?!!
  5. The Oracle lies! I've been searching for the actual song for quite some time. If you listen here [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGOGvJHeyQc]YouTube- Politik (Live @ Ahoy Dutch EP version) Coldplay[/ame] you can plainly hear that their intro song is NOT "An Ending (Ascent)" thought that is a great song as well :D Anyone know what song is at the start in the video I posted?
  6. Super excited for the acoustic vibe, and of course the idea of smaller venues!
  7. I figured I may as well give the song a full, sober, crack so here goes Standard tuning just doesn't sound right to me, especially if you watch the longer version with Chris talking at the beginning, so I'm going to stick with E A D G B D tuning. Its difficult to hear because for much of the song the 1st string is muted, however in a number of chords you can clearly hear a high D rather than E. As per usual with Chris, notes on the 6th string are nearly always played with the thumb. "Those wedding bells are..." D|--(0)-(0)-0-0----0-| B|---7--8--3--8----3-| G|---0--0--0--0----0-| D|---9--9--x--x----x-| A|-10-10--5--10--5-| E|-------8--3--8---3-| "I always loved you and I always will" D|-0-0----| B|-3-1-3-| G|-2-0-0-| D|-4-2-x-| A|-x-3-5-| E|-2-3-3-| "La la la la..." D|-0-0-0-| B|-1-3-3-| G|-0-2-0-| D|-2-4-x-| A|-3-x-5-| E|-3-2-3-| Then this part is played until Chris goes back to "I always loved you..."
  8. Here's part 1 on Youtube, when its finished it will lead you to part 2 and so on. Enjoy! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PZardXOYIQ]YouTube - The South Bank Show - Coldplay (Part 1 of 5)[/ame]
  9. Oh no, I don't mean the first chord in the song itself, that one I posted was 'the' chord he refers to in the beginning of the longer video, in which he explains the inspiration for the song, your original tab of the beginning sounds perfect to me.
  10. Alright so of course a moment after my last reply I have a moment of inspiration. "The" chord Chris plays at the beginning is D|-0--| B|-8--| G|-0--| D|-9--| A|-10-| E|-8--| (t) The chorus (I always loved you and I...) is D|-0-0-0-| B|-1-3-0-| G|-0-2-0-| D|-2-4-x-| A|-3-x-5-| E|-3-2-3-| (t) Apologies for the lack of proper formatting and the bit of 'inspiration' I've taken from Coldplayplusjuanes' tabs, I've had a bit to drink.
  11. When I tune my e string to D and change that last quick chord to the 5th fret on the A and B strings it sounds fine. The only problem now is the final "...I always loved you and I always will" part. Beautiful song though, I hope Chris finishes it.
  12. Could someone kind PM a link please?
  13. Same here, for some reason Megaupload hates me, could someone upload it elsewhere?
  14. I'll take a spot on the list as I'm stuck going to a festival! Thanks!!
  15. Thank you Coldplay! Though I doubt they'll be giving this one away at All Points West, I'm still grateful!
  16. Hope this comes to fruition! I love Simon. BTW can anyone tell me which edition of GQ this is in? US, UK, May or June?
  17. Is it just me or does the author loose all credibility when implying that Robert Plant has a good voice? I mean the man sounds like a dying animal. In conclusion, Zepplin sucks.
  18. Shiver Yellow In My Place The Scientist The Hardest Part Fix You Lovers in Japan Viva La Vida
  19. It sounds a bit like: When all your troubles are away Oh Christmas lights, keep shining all day If anyone gets a rip of this, could I get a PM?
  20. Is it just me or is the best part the little drumming guys in the beginning?
