  1. Give me a bit of time to get into these, their mostly new to me. Banana co is great tho.
  2. Heres an update. I haven't been able to play the guitar this week, but I do have the riff down for AROBTTH. Above poster find em at http://www.911tabs.com/search.php?search=spies&type=song (acoustic and chords there)
  3. Heres a couple that are kinda similar to Radiohead, try this yourself and youll notice how different the bands are. No more keeping my feet on the ground, A rush of blood to the head, Twisted logic.
  4. Im sure you can find someone to look after it for 2 months. I would but I don't know if id be available, im moving away soon!
  5. Mine would be different, i'm thinking of one album per band (25 choices)
  6. A rush of blood to the head, I'd heard others before but I didnt know they were Coldplay. This song was my definition of good music, within a week I had all 3 albums.
  7. Pink Floyd - Money Thats songs basically a big jam, pure self indulgence with guitars. The fact I actually like such a thing means its the best. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_ofFa50LzY

I don't mean being struck up and predensious about such a think. I just mean trying to get everyone to listen to Radiohead around you.

When you understand why RH is so awsome its impossible not to think such a thing.
  10. Everyone can write a good song when their in a highly emotive state. But i think the professional song smithers are just naturally good at writing songs, they don't need inspiration.
  11. If no one else agrees to do it I'll do one once my exams are over. Which is 6 weeks from now.
  12. Lets do a best albums ever poll next? there was a debut one before but debuts are rarely a bands best album.
  13. Pfft... Coldplay touches your soul, Muse just makes it explode. Then Radiohead write about the explosion, without mentioning the word explosion... (to me that was profound!)
  14. I actually bought none of these except Feeder in the end. Massive attack and Thom Yorke's The Eraser :)
  15. I find that suprising, the Beatles are always on the radio and always will be. Everyone at least knows their songs even if they've never heard them.
  16. Well the first half of their career they toured and released an album a year, as well as some stand alone singles. The Beatles never did anything that would be as differcult to translate live as u2's Pop. Looking at Kid A anything can be translated live but it shouldn't stop giving 100 percent at the studio. U2 released 1 album within 5 years, they wern't touring all that time. Not really, most albums out there have filler somewhere, being that the bands a collaborative issue. Such as the inclusion of 'the small print' on Muse's Absolution against Matt's wishes. Despite the fact it hurt the albums cohesiveness. Lennon for example hated 'Run for your life' but George Harrison loved it. That's why its on the album. That and the contractual obligations the Beatles were under. That some bands wouldn't have been able to keep up with. 1 album of a certain length and 4 singles a year? The band chemistry isn't the issue, all this proves is the Beatles were more talented because more than one could write songs. Definatly the case, The Beatles music was way similar initially than modern music. Their later stuff tho is pretty complex. While my guitar weeps, Hey Jude, Helter Skelter, She's so heavy, Come together ectrs
  17. The Beatles recorded as many albums as U2 have in their 30 year career in 10 short years and have far more songs than U2 and far more good ones. Oasis have recorded around 6 albums in 15 years, and are nowhere near the quality of the geniuses of the Beatles the borrow lines consistantly as well as riffs. Abbey Road, Rubber Soul, Revolver, The Beatles and Stg Pepper were flawless gems of pop innovation. Sure they came first but the Beatles were far more experimental than a band like U2 has ever been their albums are timeless so its easy to compare Stg Pepper to pop and see which band was the best at being experimental. And the Killers, their a shoddy band imo, British image pop without the british image. A combination of Pulp without the soul and U2 without the lyrical intergrity. Their first album getting old quick and the second never being fun at all. Download yourself some Beatles songs from each album see how they are rule and vary a lot.
  18. I hate the attitude of some people. If a band were doing it for a love of music it wouldn't matter if you broke out of their hole or toiled in orscurity forever with a niche audience. It wouldn't even matter if they gave away music free or not, people will still steal it, especially a small band that might just suck (who wants to take a gamble of a £10 on an unproven bands album?) Im sure no matter how well they do they'll end up making more money than most of their fans will see in a lifetime.
  19. Thats insanity. So far my top 5 predictions were correct. So 1. Radiohead 2. Muse 3. Coldplay
  20. Did they honestly not expect that people would hack them? And leaving songs up there in hyperspace no matter how secure is how things get leaked.
  21. Ah the caps lock, creates that vibe that your being shouted at...
  22. Ibiza (spain) @ Bombadazi - Im looking for recommedations on Modest Mouse, R.E.M (the bands listed) or something similar. Im not really into dance btw and electronica is something that has to be sinister to intrest me :)
  23. Since my holiday is unfortunatly also a revision fest with exams 2 weeks after coming back I'm getting myself some albums (2ish) to keep me company by the pool. Most people bring a book, I'm bringing revision notes! So heres my last FM http://www.last.fm/user/killarapp You'll see I like my brit pop and my art rock, and not much else. I also like music with a bit of sadness to it, well not in Ibiza I won't. So heres what im thinking about getting. Something by R.E.M other than Out of time / Automatic for the people (a nice bouncy not too differcult to absorb album, that isn't depressing) Modest Mouse, I love their bouncy highly interesting indie sound. I have 2 albums one of which I wasn't a fan of (Lonesome crowded west) and one I loved (Good news for people...) Thinking of getting The Moon and antartica or We were dead... but if they sound like LCW let me know so I don't waste my money. Pulp - This is hardcore, I know ill love this, a nice intelligent album about hedonism, but the fact is I want something happy and relaxing, and Pulp is anything but. Feeder - Polyethelene, I love Feeder, I'll have just seen them live 2 days before I go away, but this album is supposed to be pretty heavy debut, and im not really a heavy person. This bands so underrated, and they sound a bit coldplayish, so do try em out if you've never heard of them. Paperfaces - Feeling a moment Muse used to support them on tour! And lastly John Lennon's solo work, the album Imagine, though it is a bit expensive.
  24. Viva La Vida to me sounds made for the radio, it even sounds like it could be in a night club with the bass increased. Yellow / Clocks should have been the lead singles of those albums, because their immedatly likable unlike Shiver which took me a while.
  25. The greatest songs imo break the rules. Losing my religion R.E.M Bad - U2 History - The Verve Bittersweet symphany - The Verve Beetlebum/song2 - Blur
