  2. X & Y was the first Coldplay album I ever heard, so it will always be special to me. Plus, X & Y will always be a bigger hit with us young folks over the adults. It has a fun, groovy style to it, and we can also relate to the lyrics. With that said, I think I may like VLV more..... but maybe not. I guees it doesn't matter. :)

Coldplay should cover this on their upcoming tour. (lol, maybe not)
  4. I like the first part of soft, everyday life sound of the first part. The second part is just plain weird, while the third part is alright, but nothing overly special. I think the big problem with this song is these 3 parts don't fit together at all. 3-part epics are like a puzzle. Each 3 pieces have to fit together to make one whole song. These just don't.
  5. Well, that's what you get when you hire Eno. This is the problem I've had with these new songs from the get-go. I still think it's a great album, but you just can't connect with (some, not all) of these new songs.
  6. CoL is the best song on the album, imo. Everything about the song is perfect. The guitar, drums, voices... there's simply nothing wrong with any of it.
  7. 1. Cemeteries of London 2. 42 3. Yes 4. Violet Hill 5. Death & All His Friends
  8. They were nervous, just like any other band performing a song live for the first time. I wouldn't be too worried. They'll work out some of the kinks and it will sound much better the next time they play it.
  9. I LOVE IT! It sounds like it could have come straight out of the Parachutes era(maybe it did, lol).
  10. Don't judge the album until you've heard the whole thing. I'm not crazy about Violet Hill either, but VLV and LIT are great, and there are 10 songs I still haven't heard yet! Just listen to the album a couple times through. If you don't like it, oh well.... at least you gave it a chance. :) Also keep in mind that they're due for a bad album. I mean X&Y wasn't everybody's favorite, but it's not a bad album, not even close. I'm talking about a complete flop on the charts and in (some) fans hearts. I get the feeling this wont be (chart-wise) with LP4, but you never know. If this is going to happen, it will happen with an experimental album. And LP4 is definitely an experimental album.
  11. I'm happy now. Violet Hill is just OK, ASARY scared the death out of me, but Viva la Vida is AWESOME! The lyrics are so uplifting. :smug:
  12. It's been Speed of Sound for the past few days now. Violet Hill has made me appreciate SoS, for some reason.
  13. I don't think VH is their best song, but it's still pretty sweet. The opening of the song sounds like the radio waves Jupiter sends off into space. This alone makes the song awesome, for me anyways. I love the guitar solo in the middle portion of the song, but other than that, the middle doesn't do much for me. The final verse has that sweet classic Coldplay sound we all know, which is still good to hear. :) All in all, I like VH, but I hope this isn't the best song on Viva. If that were the case, I'd be a bit disappointed.
  14. I could name at least 10 songs better than VH, but it's still pretty good.
  15. Violet Hill :laugh3:
  16. Wow, I can't believe I won! :shocked2:
  17. 9 songs isn't long, but it isn't too short either. Sounds just right, imo. Also, wasn't "Dark Side of the Moon" 9 songs and 45 minutes long? People sure don't complain about that album being bad. Why? Well, all of the songs are near perfect and fit together wonderfully. Maybe this will be Coldplay's "Dark Side"...
  18. They had a lot to live up to after AROBTTH. People were expecting sooooo much, that anything was going to be a let down. I think we all focus too much on how it wasn't a good as AROBTTH and forget the good songs on it. Square One, Talk, and X&Y are some of a favorites.
  19. I'm not suprised there is a song called "Glass of Water", because isn't this album suppose to about how you look at things?
  20. Back in grade school, I was thinking about Coldplay during my spelling test. I mispelled politics "politiks":laugh3:
  21. 1. Yes! 2. Cemeteries of London 3. Famous Old Painters 4. Lost! 5. 42 6. Death and All His Friends 7. Chinese Sleep Chant 8. Strawberry Swing 9. Life in Technicolor + Song For The Escapìst
  22. 8. Make Music just kidding! :)
  23. PLEASE, Coldplay, just make it Death and All His friends. The two put together sounds... well, bad. Viva la Vida alone sounds better.
  24. I don't care for Viva La Vida, but w/e. I'm just glad is the album coming out soon!!!
  25. 5. Spies - I've tried to like it, but I just can't.:\ 4. Harmless - It's short, but unlike Parachutes, not in a good way. 3. A Whisper - Worst song off of AROBTTH. Why in the world was it was chosen over I Ran Away!? 2. White Shadows - I just don't like it. 1. In My Place - Waaayyyy too radio friendly.
