hmm there does seem to a lot more fuzz (or as i like to call it, noise) on this album. not sure if i like it or not at this stage.

yeah i like that album too but not nearly as much as Aha. Because of the Times had a few gems too. but the current demeanour of the band really turns me off their music.

same here. i just think they're wonderful musicians and alex is a great songwriter. i simply enjoy the sound of them playing their instruments.

what it means to be *insert your nationality* in the past few months i've noticed something about australian society that has really started to annoy me. earlier in the year the country experienced some terrible natural disasters and i heard the same rhetoric being thrown around continuously. "it's the aussie way to be tough and carefree. it's the aussie thing to be fighter and caring for your people" so on and so forth. it's great that they all felt that way but it just came across in a way that we think we're better than people from other countries. that we're loyal, hard working and nice and the rest of the world isn't. in the past few weeks the illegal immigrant situation is blowing up and once again the same stuff is being said. "they should learn to be more like us and learn to be hard working and honest" it's just such an elitist attitude. do people in other countries get the same thing? is this just patriotism or elitism? pride or ignorance?

i really don't like the first 3 songs. worst start to an AM to date. but it really picks up after that.

disappointed at the lack of reaction. so i'll just talk to myself. a lot of the emotion that defined For Emma seems to have been replaced with a heavier focus on experimentation. it is clearly much more of a full band effort than the debut so it doesn't feel as personal but it does give a fuller sound. the closing track Beth/Rest is probably one of the best songs i have heard this year. a cracking end to the album.

i'm not much of a KoL fan but i absolutely love Aha Shake Heartbreak, their 2nd album. same with Snow Patrol, don't really like them but i really enjoy Final Straw.

the leak is completely legit. this album might take some getting used to. particularly some of the vocal work.

Djokovic "only" needs to make the final of the French to become world no.1.

can the quality of a live act be judged by the quality of a live cd? lets not forget. these things are usually mastered and mixed with the purpose of making them sound as perfect as possible. a bulk of them are made of the bands biggest hits rather than every song played at a show.

his levels of douchebag/arsehole/scumbug/jerkoff i think have gone down a long way in the last year or so. they were at epic heights through 2008/09. but his egoism will never die, if anything it grows by the day. him and bono should make babies. speaking of yeezy. have you guys seen the girl he is going around with these days!!
