Official Aussie Music Fan Thread
just got back from the Middle East at the Metro. basically my thoughts are that this is a band that could be and should be doing better. they play far too little from their amazing EP and are too self indulgent with their more lengthy material. but the band's vocal work remains second to none. i'm seeing them again on Thursday. hope they do a better set and their audience is more respectful.

The Pink Floyd Thread
i'm very jealous you get to see this great album performed live!! it's my 2nd most favourite album of all time. i'm assuming you mean that the past had pink floyd and the kids of today have to listen to lady gaga. personally i think that's a shocking comparison. there are bands out there today who may not be like pink floyd but they're brilliant nonetheless. enjoy the show.

absolute killer line up for Parklife considering the size of the festival and the time of year it's held. i'll very keen for Lykke Li sideshow.

Bands that are great and all but you totally can't understand
true long time AC fans might disagree with me but i really like MPP and in particular this song. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTCg1Ovu64E]YouTube - Animal Collective - Bluish[/ame] pop perfection imo.

The Official Exam Thread
thanks grace :) good luck with yours too. the length is never the issue. if anything its hard staying under the limit. but they're usually between 2500-3000 words. and the research that goes into it is immense. i spent the day flicking through this 2200 page tax book FML. i'm in my second last year of law school now. but unlike other degrees my workload will remain constant right to the end :( i have 7 more days of this before i can relax for a week before starting the internship process for my career in law. *sigh* anyways enough whinging time to get stuck into this paper! :D

The Official Exam Thread
i'm in the very middle of mine. but mine aren't sit down exams instead they're essays that you are given 4 to 5 days to do. i did 2 of them at the same time last week and that really took its toll me. i basically spent all of saturday and sunday trying to get my energy back to do my next essay which is due on thursday. i was making good progress through yesterday and today but this evening i've just hit a wall and just don't feel like doing anything. i hate that feeling of having no motivation, where everything seems more attractive than the task in front of you. i have a few more hours left tonight before i'll need to sleep. hope i get the motivation back :( cos this is one fucking hard essay (taxation law if u must know)

[31-July-2011] Coldplay @ Splendour In The Grass festival, Australia
they will announce bus info soon. it might not get you directly to where you want but should help you get part of the way there. if i were you i would try and find camping or caravan facilities that are near the site. but check out the website. it is really useful and informative. you can add at least another 1.5hrs to that trip time just for getting out of the site each night. but i guess if you start your day late then getting back late shouldnt be an issue. i'm very happy to be camping on site. got myself a $60 fold up 3 man tent for me and my mate. we'll probably get hypothermia sleeping in there but oh well its all about the music :P it's getting close!! i just wish they would announce the timetable earlier so i know which bands i might need to familiarise myself with to keep myself occupied.

Bands that are great and all but you totally can't understand
ok i will try that. but Highway 61 Revisited left a lot to be desired. is it cos i never pay attention to lyrics when i listen to music?

Six months later...
not much has really changed except the gap between LCD, National and Kanye and the rest is getting bigger by the day. those 3 aren't just album of the year quality they're album of the decade quality. Sufjan's and Pallett's albums would be much higher after seeing them live. also the Parades album has quickly become one of my all time favourite australian albums. but that was already pretty high up on my list. otherwise i wouldn't change much else.
