i wouldn't call P4K scores worthless. getting a best new music label from them can do wonders for an act in the US and sometimes around the world. but i don't think this wave of indie-brit-guitar-rock that has been going for 6-7yrs now has been embraced by P4K that well. so for AM to stay on their good side is a testament to their talent and willingness to be a bit daring with their music. something P4K seem to reward.

strong rumours that they might be returning to australia later this year when they visit japan and singapore. as much as i would love to see them again. i kinda wish they would just disappear again and make another wonderful album asap. this tour has been going 15 months and looks like it won't end until december. so unless they rush their next one, i don't think we'll get any new music from the boys until 2013 at the earliest.

on an app? i can't imagine why you out of all people would want to play guitar virtually everday..... i liked it cos it really just looks like another image but hey hey u can make sounds with it. lol

they got Best New Music on P4K!

the album has done quite poorly critically. averaging 73 on metacritic which is their lowest score to date. i think a bulk of the critics metacritic uses come from America so that might make the difference. EDIT: they just got their highest score to date from P4K. a solid 7.5. all their other stuff has been given 7.0ish. so this should do them some good over there.

i guess i'm comparing the two for their massiveness rather than quality. cos radiohead aren't stadium trotters like coldplay, U2, muse or other big bands. so it's not always you get to see footage of them playing in front of 80-odd thousand.

i'm not sure which mega-huge-festival-partial-video i prefer. V Festival 2006 or Reading Festival 2010........

optimus alive added :) Primavera took place last week. it was broadcast by radio station WFMU. you can listen to their recordings here. http://wfmu.org/playlists/SZ includes sets from animal collective, deerhunter, battles and interpol. Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park as you all know was last weekend. the line up was very very poor. i had a look at the set times and i would've been very bored had i gone. anyways here's a bit of footage. next weekend is probably the biggest of the year with Pinkpop, Bonnaroo, Isle of Wight, Jammin and Download Festivals taking place. fingers crossed for some good webcasts and tv coverage. Pinkpop almost always has decent radio and tv coverage with 3VOOR12? Bonnaroo i fear might be a Vevo only webcast meaning only those in north american can watch. Isle of Wight is usually covered by one of the british tv channels.

i showed my mum the FTB performance thinking she might enjoy the music. but she spent the hour saying "what the hell is with that guys eyes? is he on drugs? omg they're all on drugs?" *facepalm*
