  1. terrible sound throughout!!! what a pathetic effort from who ever was in charge of that. i'm surprised the band even allowed this to be broadcast. it made them really bad! i thought NPR were shit at recording live music but vevo seem to have taken this to a new level of shitness. they need to get triple j in there to help out. those guys know how to record some quality live music. also. how does Sarah keep that ridiculous side mullet yet remain immensely hot!
  2. alrighty. 2 days down 1 to go. I've only ever seen The Strokes do "festival sets" before so it will awesome to be able to watch a full 1.5hr set.
  3. watching the show now. looks like they didn't do a massive show but i'm still looking forward to watching it.
  4. epic sound FAIL!!
  5. alrighty Arcade Fire time. i'll watch their entrance then leave. nice watching with you Grace :) and can i just add. imo Bonnaroo is the only festival in the world that can hold a candle to glastonbury.
  6. now this is what i call some knee slapping fun!
  7. hahahah and he's a tad weird too! well the thing is i usually only go see a band if i like their albums or a ton of their singles. and i'm talking about major bands here. for example if i go see arctic monkeys tomorrow and they decide to play almost every song off their new album and a few from each other album and end up doing a 30 song set. in my mind there's no way that could beat a 18 song set regardless how intense it is. for example this M&S set here. 70mins in now, only 1 album behind them and there hasn't been a dull moment yet.
  8. i guess when it comes to live music i'm a firm believer in quantity= quality. annoyed that i'll miss AF's entire set thanks to freken work.
  9. and they're doing a 90min set!! i've seen bands with 4-5 albums who only do 80min sets *cough*phoenix*cough* not a huge fan of their album but probably one of the most impressive live shows i've ever been to. great muscianship, great stage presence, great chemistry.....great everything really.
  10. hhhheeeeeeell no!! they have announced shows in singapore as late as november this year. they're expected to announce more aus dates in november as well.
  11. so anyone watching M&S? holy crap these guys have become one effing huge rock band!
  12. Bonnaroo is a "jam band fest" and Widespread Panic are your ultimate jam band. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHzJfmrP3DA]YouTube - ‪Widespread Panic - Jam - Protein Drink‬‏[/ame] the strokes are headlining the second biggest stage which i guess is still something. the white stripes headlined that same stage in 2007 when they were a pretty huge band.
  13. and please no setlist spoilers!! they finished their set about an hour ago. so tomorrows broadcast is on a pretty big delay. #vevofail.
  14. yeah The Strokes are on monday morning aus time. full 90min performance :D gawd i love bonnaroo!
  15. not too sure about GMT bryce but its about 9pm Tennessee time that AF start. the reason why i want us to have a bit of a "party" for this gig is cos Bonnaroo is famous for bands headlining and performing extra long sets (as opposed to most other festivals where bands do shorter sets) so i'm expecting AF to continue that tradition. i will be very disappointed if they don't
  16. well i watched Flo +Machine and My Morning Jacket around 9am to midday today aus time. so it should be about the same for the strokes and arcade fire. the full times are on the bonnaroo website.
  17. i think it would be helpful and beneficial to all if we let her write in French. it takes 2secs to translate something on google.
  18. trying this with the strokes peeps too. but bonnaroo webcast party anyone?
  19. anyone up for a bonnaroo webcast party?
  20. a lot of the best bands going around at the moment make wonderful albums but put on fairly bland shows. even if they're good shows theres nothing memorable about them. and the bands who are awesome live are the type who have a few great hits on their album and the rest is filler. Foals incredibly manage to do both. i think a lot of that has to do with the fact that they're awesome musos.
  21. wow thats awesome grace!! i remember a friend recommending them to me around the time TLF came out and i was like yeah yeah heard of them not my thing. and now i'm 10 times the fan my friend is haha
  22. I missed Flo + Machine but My Morning Jacket are frken awesome. last time they played they did a 3hr+ set. they've been going for almost 2hrs tonight as well. i'm expecting a massive set from AF.
  23. 1. Yellow 2. Politik 3. God Put A Smile Upon Your Face 4. Trouble. 5. The Scientist 6. See You Soon 7. Fix You 8. Clocks 9. Lovers in Japan/ Reign of Love 10. Daylight
  24. Bonnaroo is webcasting for all here - http://www.bonnaroo/webcast good line up of performances!! no such coverage for Pinkpop or Download. although Isle of Wight is being covered by Sky TV.
