  1. im not exactly obsessed with this song. but it has gone to no.1 on many charts and this is a great performance of the actual song not the stupid radio edit. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17eSUnQ-_ek]YouTube - Cee-Lo Green - "Fuck You" (Later with Jools Holland)[/ame] this is the song that im actually obsessed with. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsFZYXt0E0E&feature=related]YouTube - The National - England (Live Directors Cut)[/ame]
  2. i'll file that under potential pedophile here are the Parades. pretty cool band imo. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mahT-lYsiM8]YouTube - Parades - Loserspeak in New Tongue[/ame]
  3. ^^ i would like to see you try :P does anybody else like the Parades album? its actually quite impressive.
  4. poor john. it must really suck to have millions of people admiring your music and talents.
  5. i didnt have that form ready at that time so ive ascertained all that information from you over time through less obvious means. any if not all of such information may be used against you in the future.
  6. hi!! and oh goodie we finally have a WA correspondent. please fill out the required form. name (fakes are ok :P) age (fakes are ok) occupation (fakes are ok) favourite bands (fakes are not ok) favourite aussie bands (fakes are not ok) what have you enjoyed this year from aussie bands (this is a serious question) do you worship triple j who have you seen live (if you havent, trust me things will change after a bit of time on this wallet killing thread) are you actually an one eyed coldplay fan who doesnt give a shit about any other bands. if answer is yes then please dont answer any of the above questions and leave before thom yorke kills you. thank you. ps. i know that questionnaire looks silly but i actually do want you to fill it out lol .
  7. yeah The Killers made so many great moshpit songs. i hope they return to that type of material soon cos it really suited brandon's on stage energy and vibe. i miss the days when he used to run around and sing like he was having an asthma attack lol.
  8. etihad is only 60 000 :P which why im surprised they didnt have it at the mcg. i was thinking about going the 2nd night for the cheap seats but so many other shows have come up i opted against it. i'll get there around 4pm-ish which might mean i wont get under the Claw but most certainly a good spot outside of that circle. sydney 2nd show only has the $300 and $250 seats remaining so you can almost call that one a sell out too.
  9. yuppo. but a shame they played so many shit new slow songs. really put a dampener on an otherwise brilliant set.
  10. are you kidding dude? last years line up got absolutely hammered. you take Muse out of that line up they wouldve been lucky to sell 10 tickets. lily allen and dizzee rascal on the main stage? mars volta as 3rd last act? i would say this years line up is much much stronger overall but will draw in the type of crowd i dont particularly like and i think a lot of people are like me, which has meant slower ticket sales in sydney at least. that combined with tool being recycled just 3yrs after their last headlining appearance has had an impact. but in saying that i still think laneway will sell out quick but not instantly.
  11. i cant wait for dec 13 when i see them in sydney. its completely sold out which means 95 000 fans!! its going to be awesome and i hope to be right near the front of the pit.
  12. personally i dont think this years line up is as strong as 2010 which had names like mumford n sons, florence, the xx, echo n bunnymen, sarah blasko, dappled cities, eddy current and the middle east and that didnt sell out for weeks, at least in sydney. but like i said you never know in todays live music climate. also something tells me, arcade fire might be here as part of the Sydney Festival. i guess the only reason i say that is because owen pallet is here at the same time. and i can really envisage arcade fire playing an interesting quirky venue in sydney and doing similar things in melbourne and brisbane. it takes place through january so you never know. and yes grace i study law. dont judge me. :P
  13. you can never tell these days. im not going to take a risk and wait too long. im in the process of using my lawyering skills to talk some people into spending $125 on this fest haha
  14. just looking through the list of all the shows ive been to and i think im yet to go to a show where ive been truly blown away. each has been special in its own way but none have stood out. here are some of my favourite moments RHCP in 2007 - Otherside - at that time it was my favourite song by my favourite band so hearing it live at my first ever gig was pretty incredible. The Killers - When You Were Young - an incredible moshpit experience. the band was on fire for the entire 80mins they were on stage and this song came at the very end and still they were as energetic as ever. Pearl Jam - Rockin in the Free World - another closing song. eddie had told the 35 000 strong crowd at the start of the show that he had a terrible flu so his throat was killing him. somehow he still managed to give us his all over 26 songs including this one. at the end of the song he finally completely lost his voice and he left the stage clutching his throat in agony. rock n roll at its brutal best Muse - Unnatural Selection - it was scorcher of a day when i saw these boys at a massive festival. when the band hit the stage at 9pm it was still bloody hot and most of us were nearing dehydration with security only handing out water to the front few rows and the water hoses had been turned off. so in between songs we would chant "water water water" to no avail. then half way through this track, matt bellamy not known for improvising with his lyrics, screamed "give these people some fuckinnnngggg water!!!!!" and the crowd at the front of the moshpit went nuts. very cool moment but the water never came. Paradise City - Slash (solo) - yet another closing song. not much to say about this performance other than my amazement at slash's musicianship after shredding the shit out of his axe for over 2hrs he still absolutely nailed this song and the crowd reacted aptly. we all moshed til we dropped that night :D
  15. well that first link was in a different language so i had no idea lol. and im sure roadie 42 wasnt the first person to write about being a roadie with a band. so i have no issues with PJ's roadie writing a book.
  16. did anyone watch triple j presents on monday night. i recorded it so i will upload it and the other shows once the series is over. like i predicted it was only 30mins long which in terms of LCD soundsystem music is only 4 songs namely Drunk Girls, Someone Great, New York I Love you and Daft Punk is Playing. still it was wonderful it watch a gig i went to.
  17. ^^ got a spare room grace? :P
  18. im there!! but really need some peoples to join me!!
  19. ^^ i think it means this is the 28th day theyve spent working on it.
  20. well Ye is out of sydney tomorrow. he is going to Frankfurt from what i hear.
  21. yeah i made the mistake of listening to a lot of led zep's live material before i started on their albums so i was very underwhelmed by the albums.
  22. ^^ a lot of the songs off that album have gone on to becoming some of the best live songs ever. so calling it your favourite album isnt as much of a crime as you might think. :P
  23. The Bends - Radiohead truly magnificent music!!
  24. ^^ sooooooooo badly want to go see Tool!!
  25. yup!! add In Ghost Colours to my list! most perfect aussie album ever.
